All he did was score against the Bruins :lol he's actually a good PP guy, just not that great defensively. With Sbban, Markov, and Diaz we couldn't afford to play him. He should score well with the Sedins feedig him.

Just add this to Nonis' list of brilliant moves.
He's like Parros, fills a team need at virtually no cost and is a low risk move. He has a killer slapshot and will help a PP with no true QB but he won't ever be much more then a PP specialist.
Up until this past season he was a lot better at hitting the net then Subban

From my understanding.
A player can become an unrestricted free agent after 27 years of age or 7 years of service.
Now, with Bernier's new contract. He will be 26 years old.. however.. he would have 7 years of service.
But to count a season as a year of service, he would have to play 30 games. (30 for goalies, 40 for the rest). Bernier doesn't qualify for the seven years yet.

I am still distraught at Grabmyballski leaving. Bozak's contract is less than expected and I like him so whatever. Clarkson's contract is ridiculous and Fire Nonis. At least we aren't re-signing Thor. Ottawa will now destroy us with the might of a king.
I like the players he brought in (and kept). I just don't like the money they bring along with them.
That's essentially how I feel.

To a 2-way deal to play in the AHL. Half of our baby Pen forwards signed in Europe after the season.
Did y'all see we got David Clarkson? Did anybody see that? You see the move Dave Nonis pulled off? Yes 7 years is a long ass time but 5.25 cap hit when everyone was talking bout him taking over 6 and possibly 7? Shit is real! I think we all expect the cap to gradually go up so a 5.25 cap hit ain't gonna be shit a few years down the road. We got a beast who will be ready to play every single day, a good ole' TORANA boy who will be extra pumped to come play for his home team. He is the perfect forward for Randy Carlyle's system and you will see him thrive on this team.
And a masterful job by Nonis getting Bozak under 5 million. A dude with great chemistry with Phil that can hold the fort until we finally attain a 1C or hopefully in a few years Kadri morphs into one. Again another guy who thrives in Carlyle's system who will do a lot better here then he would anywhere else. Plus this could be a major factor in getting KESSSELLLL resigned and possibly for a bit of a discount.
Fraser McLaren, why not? Not like we're breaking the bank for him, he knows his role here and will be a good soldier to pop in the lineup when needed.
TJ Brennan...I don't know who he is but fuck it he's awesome too.
So in closing, bring on the season!
