Subban is going to arbitration in 70 minutes.

What a monumental fuck up. He's now either going to walk away as a UFA in 2 years or we're going to have to grossly overpay him to stay. Neither solution is pleasant, and arbitration can be a nasty bit of business that leaves both parties resentful of eachother.

Get something done in the next hour, you cunts.

Important fact to keep in kind, a contract can be figured out until the arbitrator awards Subban. So even if it goes to arbitration, they still have time after to figure it out.

I suspect the ruling will come today though. Let's be honest, Subban's case for $8.5M will be much more compelling than Montreal's case for why he's only worth $5.25M. Arbitrator will rule close to Subban's number in no time. Not sure if it'd be a one or two year deal though, or how that is determined.

From everything I've read, it seems like they want to lock him down for 6-6.5 x 8, where as Subban is looking for 7.5 per with no real idea on term.

While though numbers have been strategically presented in the event the two sides cannot agree to a deal and arbitration is the last resort, it's believed the Canadiens are hoping to sign Subban to a long-term deal worth between $6.5 million to $7 million, per season.

Subban's camp is believed to be looking at between $7.5 million and $8 million, per year, on a long-term contract.

Edit: That was a from a few weeks ago, it says they both want long term. Hard to imagine they're going this far over a million bucks.

Maybe not what you're imagining but ikea has what you need my man.

Kitchen counter top paired with vika whateverthefuckyouchoose legs. Don't use the cheapo table tops they have for this purpose. The counters are much thicker and very sturdy with many different options in color or natural wood. I don't know if what I used is still around but my desk is fucking awesome and cost like $140 total, minimal modding required. I can post pics later if you're at all interested.

That said, we found this local place where a couple make custom tables using reclaimed barn wood and such in their spare time. Awesome stuff and comes with a matching bench for around $700, but the lead time is like a month from wood selection to delivery. Maybe something like that is available near you.

Now that tables are out of the way, good luck Habs fans. People here are on suicide watch. Most are already annoyed enough about Eller. At least the people in my circles. I believe MB will do the right thing.

If the arbitrator settles this, it will be a 1 year contract, as the Habs requested. Then we get to do this shit all over again next year.

There's still plenty of time for it to get worked out. Still sucks it made it this far though.

I'd be shocked if it's the arb deal. Even more if Subban isn't a Hab in two years.
