NHL Off-Season 2015 |OT| With the first pick the LA Kings are proud to select...

Yea wondering why the Leafs didn't give him a shot, we're pretty barren up the middle

Kinda surprised at the return, wonder if we didn't shop him around much.

He's a solid player, pretty decent potential, but like I said, we have too many guys fighting for roster spots now. His only chance of playing on our team would probably be during an injury.

Mike Babcock and Phil Kessel wouldn't go over well. If anything Kessels trade value would've declined by the end of the year.

Matthews sounds good next year.

I dunno man I think it's almost impossible his value would be less than it was this past year after everything that happened.

maybe for once this god forsaken team will get some lottery luck. of course the oilers will probably finish just out of the playoffs and win it anyway.

Also means we have a ton of forwards, 8 defensemen, and still need an upgrade on defense.

I think Nyquist gets traded before the season for a top defenseman.

Or we use some of our younger kids as trade bait, would be fine with me since we have too much of a logjam.

I said the same thing

D prospects aren't anything to cry about aside from 2 or 3 of them like Percy

"We need to let the young guys play."

*signs Brad Richards*

Thanks, Holland.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the thinking here is on this one (if it goes through). We have plenty of centers right now...

Z/Pav/Abby
Goose/Sheahan/Tatar
Helm/Glendening/Jurco
Miller/Andersson/Pulkkinen

I guess you can sit Andersson, put Luke down as 4th line center and have Richards center Helm and Jurco?

Knodel wasn't qualified hes gone.
Donaghey was an undrafted guy we gave and ELC too any blew out his knee.
The other guys are like 4+ years away
Nilsson/Granberg MAYBE 6th D

*Rielly
And he is not a prospect

He just turned 21, he's essentially a Leafs long term guy in D which is what you want a prospect to be.

also, if neither marner or nylander play center, basically all our promising forwards are right wingers, kinda amazing they managed that, it's like i knew what position kapanen played before i even looked it up

We also just got Marincin who is only 23.

People have to realize the entire D corp isnt going to be the same age. When Rielly is in his prime from 26-30 (5 to 9 years from now!) They'll have brought up other guys they developed who may be 20-25 in age. There may be a guy in there they haven't even drafted yet! I still include Rielly as a prospect for that reason, he's a long term piece on the back end.

Stars expected to announce two-year contract extension for Curtis McKenzie today.

I'm hearing McKenzie's numbers are $650,000 first year, $700,00 second year. First year is two-way, second year is one-way.

Hope the kid can stay up, even though he gonna be stuck on that fourth line.

This is a good example of why stats need to be taken in context and taken into consideration with other variables

Players who scored ES goals at the same rate as Kassian the last 3 years:

Evander Kane, Blake Wheeler, Jordan Eberle, Matt Duchene.

dude, check out their shooting percentage

... Kassian's is insanely high :lol

Still a higher ceiling than Prust though, but he was in every coach's doghouse

Also, good deal on PAP, so cheap wow

Where did Kassian play most of the year this season? 3rd line? I give him 15 games before Therrien puts him in the press box.

My expectations are at the lowest point that they could be

I really think he has way more than enough room to improve and move past that 4th line, hopefully he does.

Stars also signed Patrick Eaves to a one-year contract btw, good news.

Apparently Bergman did in interview in Sweden and said the plan was to give Willy a few reps with the Leafs throughout the season.

So we got 3 goalies with one way contracts now, the fact that we just signed ramo to a 1 year extension makes me wonder what that means for hiller

Turns out Derick Brassard was also injured. In fact, he played almost the whole season, a career year for him, with a nagging wrist injury. He had extensor tendon surgery last week, 4-6 week recovery means he should be good to go in time for training camp.
