What's Draisaitl's ceiling pegged at right now?Having McDavid, Draisaitl and Nurse just isn't fair
Leafs prospect camp is in Collingwood? What.
was last year too, I think
Nah it was at the Mastercard Centre, 99% sure since the interviews from last year looked like those rinks.
Wondering if the Leafs will livestream anything but probably won't if its in Collingwood
Leafs did preseason work in collingwood, not prospect camp... it was playing paintball and team bonding (great work team)
I assume the reasoning for it is media exposure
Edit: apparently it has more to do with pan am games... what the hell does pan am games have to do with the MCC? Lol
Lameeee
Media is going to be there regardless, there isn't anything else to talk about right now.
Well I think we know what is leading off Sportscentre in the morning.

His name is only a few letters away from Kirill Kabanov.
The writing was on the wall.
Phaneuf can take over a game? Rielly can take over a game? Lupul can take over a game? Maybe if you're playing Buffalo, give me a break. With Kessel gone, the Leafs offense is going to be exposed, they have a lot of decent "Depth" guys, but that's all they are, there's a reason they're playing for the Leafs on 1 year contracts.
All true.
It's basically last year's roster, with Kessel swapped out for Parenteau, Hunwick for Franson, Winnik for Winnik, Matthias for Clarkson and Spaling for Santorelli. All but Matthias are downgrades.
You're forgetting arcobello, hyman, marincin
.
Do you even read the shit you post? Trying to salvage the loss of Kessel with a bunch of nobodies is hilarious. Your entire third and fourth lines aren't going to score 30 goals each, not to mention you're not even taking into account the fact that Kessels absence will completely gut the offence of your top 6 unless you really think Parenteau is going to step up and be a 30 goal guy. The Leafs have a great plan signing these guys and hoping to flip them for picks later, but pretending like they'll be in serious contention for a playoff spot and not miss Kessel is a joke. You're forgetting arcobello, hyman, marincin
Do realize they're placing all those players who played combined 189 games that totaled a massive 15 points.
Carrick, Frattin, Smith, Orr, Lindstrom, McKegg, etc etc etc etc
Then there's booth.
If every player on the 3rd and 4th line scored bare minimum 10 goals next season, they'd make up everything lost with Kessel.

since you're having difficulty understanding... (not surprised)
Leafs 4th line scored less than 5 goals
Kessel scored 25 goals
so in between 4 players, they have to replace 30 goals
so if parenteau scores 15 and the 4th line averages 5 each... *WITH ALL OTHER PIECES CONSIDERED EQUAL* they have effectively replaced kessels scoring by making our 4th line do something rather than nothing.
We have 4 players capable of hitting 20-30 G each (as they have previously done so) and who knows what the fillers will do. Also don't know what impact kessel leaving will have.
You realize hockey isn't just numbers right? It's not as simple as replacing 30 goals. You also fail to realize that the probability of a concussion prone Parenteau playing with an AHL center who couldn't crack top 6 minutes for more than 5 games will score 15 goals isn't that high, likewise with every member of your 4th line scoring 5 goals each (how many fourth lines in the NHL have those numbers?). Then in the end, you're not even taking in account how much worse JVR / Bozak will be without Kessel, they were already a tire fire in their own zone, and now they don't have Kessel to carry them offensively through the neutral zone or to feed them passes, or how much worse your powerplay will be without Kessel on it. You criticize Leaf fans for not being ready for a rebuild, meanwhile you're trying to build up the team like some moneyball contender.since you're having difficulty understanding... (not surprised)

Unfortunately, Leafs still have considerable talent in all positions.
Us fans don't want them to do well... but we still have players that can take over games.
That thought scares me because we haven't got rid of enough talent to guarantee us to be a bottom feeder.

Can't see the Leafs being better than last year; especially post trade-deadline this year will be terrible/amazing.
I wouldn't be surprised to see almost all of our FA signings get traded by the deadline.

I mean, this guy hands out health advice to a guy who beat cancer, played over 440 straight NHL games, and is one of the Top 5 scorers in all of hockey.
Meanwhile, Simmons looks like 220 pounds of hot-dog meat stuffed into a tight suit.
Its all about those dopeystats. You realize hockey isn't just numbers right?

Not sure if this was posted here yet, but it's a pretty good read, especially this little line.
Really nice season for Draisaitl. He's a big, smart, finesse player, but the concern seems that looks slow. It will be interesting to see where he fits in. I don't know if playing wing would work. He seems like a natural center and giving him the 3rd line could provide reasonable production. It's a case this year where the Oilers have enough depth now that they don't need him in a spot. A year or part year in the AHL wouldn't be terrible.A low end #1 centre. He had a rough NHL debut (he was rushed) but was dominant in the WHL, putting up a ton of points considering he played half a season. Was the driving force behind the Rockets, leading them to the Memorial Cup finals
EDIT: I believe Mclellan mentioned that they'd be playing him at wing though
You would have liked him, I swear his most favorite thing in the world was eating hand sliced avocados, he enjoyed them so much, way more than any other treat or kind of food.Shit, I'm so sorry man. Just remember the good times, and think about the difference you made in his life.
Thank you all for your support, it seriously means a lot to me, I don't have that much time posting here, even if I lurked for quite a while, but in that so little time you guys have already made me feel part of the community and I thank you for that too.

Here he is, quite a few years ago, way younger of course.
Oh I'm gonna miss that beautiful guy...
