Old guy season ticket holder waxes poetic about his hate for Martin Erat and his 65 mile drive each way to Coyote games and berates them for not moving back to the downtown Suns arena.
"We have the opportunity right now to move the franchise... and right now we have no intention of moving... we feel the right thing to do is fight for our rights... we feel that the situation has calmed down... (but) we've all already lost... we struggled to sign free agents... we see sponsors questioning... (but) we feel strongly that our home is Gila River Arena" - LeBlanc
On the roster...
"What happened in free agency helped us solidify the center ice position. If you look at last year, it was a disaster. No sense in sugar coating it... now we have options... Max Domi is the most likely candidate (from the young players)" - Maloney
On last year...
"Last year's morale... let me sum it up in a couple words... losing sucks. But I can tell you, from being on the ice today... if you see the skill level out there today it gives all of us hope we're going in the right direction. You see Max Domi... there's certainly hope for the future. All the coaches came off the ice saying "this is so much different than last year."... morale is already starting to improve" - Tippett
On Pronger and the salary floor...
"This Pronger thing... that whole thing was an accounting issue. They were willing to eat a half million in Grossman's salary if we took (Pronger) on... it meant nothing to us. That whole idea that we were acquiring Pronger to keep spend below the cap... absolutely not... we're going to be well above the floor" - Maloney
On license plates...
"They're happening" - LeBlanc, followed by some of the loudest cheers of the night. So the Coyotes have that going for them, which is nice.
On the roster...
"Grossman will play behind OEL on the left side... plays against other team's top players... Dahlbeck is a good defender... young Murphy is going to take a step forward this year... last year we struggled at center ice. We have some young players that can go in there... the guy that's going to be interesting to watch is Richardson, who we have slotted as a third line center... right now I'm thinking about a line of him and Doan and Reider on the third line... we have way more balance than last year." - Tippett
On only getting 1 pre-season game this year...
"Let's not mince words, our pre-season games aren't attended all that great... and we have season ticket holders complain they have to pay regular season prices for a pre-season game. Luc Robitaille called us and said Bakersfield wanted to host a pre-season game." - LeBlanc
