Something to pass along from a couple weeks back...

Apparently Lehner + Greening to for Eberle was pretty much a deal a week or 2 before the draft. (there was likely other pieces in the deal as well, but that was the basis)

McLellan allegedly nixed the deal, asking for an opportunity to coach Eberle and the rest of the team, before making any major changes.

This is why Murray initially seemed confident about getting something done, and less so towards the draft.

Also, Lehner specifically asked for a trade during the season. He didn't straight out demand it, but he wanted the opportunity to develop under a different coach, and have the outright opportunity to play more games consecutively.
