MEGA FUCKED. Sounds to me like he tried to move some of those NMC contracts and found zero traction. Unless they get Seth Jones to take a first-year discount, I have no idea how they're going to sign him. Zero movement on buyouts. Zero movement on trades. Also, only one roster spot is opening up due to Borky Bourque becoming UFA so I have no clue how he thinks any sort of growth on the youth side of things is going to make an appreciable impact. Then again, "no clue" is the phrase of the year. They were flabbergasted that the team was so bad, so I guess they're counting on a bounceback year. Bold strategy, but I guess when you throw all your cards on the table like they have, they're going to let their hand ride.

Oh and somebody should seriously offer sheet Jones. I think there much better odds than normal that Columbus wouldn't match. They'd have to buy someone out like Tyutin but I'm not convinced ownership would sign off on it. It's worth a try and it's not like Columbus is in a situation to return the favor any time soon because they're cap fucked for at least a few more years.

Also, Dallas makes sense for cap room, defensive need, plus he's a Texas kid. If Lightning lose Stamkos it would make sense as well. Maybe Detroit but they might be able to pick up Stamkos.

Seriously though I hate that he's getting fined, it's a legit strategy to go in the media and stir some shit to put some pressure on another GM.
I think it's more of the Stamkos comment than the PK comment - which I personally think is justified fineable.
not like anyone in the NHL cares about fines anyway - if you can land Stamkos because of comments like that, would you pay 25k for it? of course you would :lol
I agree that the Stamkos comment is easier to justify, but still... unless you actually catch him negociating before July 1st, let us enjoy a bit of chaos, chaos is fun

Bergy tried to offer Sheet Saad when he was in Chicago but got traded to Columbus last minute. We were so close in acquiring a top 6 forward but Chicago fucked is over. I would LOVE to get Seth Jones in Montreal
And that's with Yandle already being taken off the market.
There's definitely no shortage of quality players to overpay for.

Not too shabby. There's a chance to significantly improve a team if they've got cap room. Of course there's always teams who don't want to spend the cap. There might even be a few UFA bargains for those who are patient.

That's another choice I wouldn't mind having in MTL that or Lucic
If the draft isn't great next year then maybe MTL should consider this but I dunno. I think we will get a Defenceman in a trade.

Benders is a good show.
