Welcome to the NHK is so fucking good. It blows that there really isn't much else out there like it

it definitely is really good, and I can't think of much else like it, even thinking outside of anime. Tackles a lot of real issues in interesting ways.

Granted the vast majority of my media intake is video games, and these kinds of stories dont work well in games, and with anime I only watch what gets an english dub so im limited there as well

It's a lot of bullshit anyway. FedEx hires a lot of temp positions at DIA, but the pay is garbage and it's really only a job aimed at students. They give you a bonus in tuition (like 5k max I think) if you stay on for a year+ doing backbreaking shit all the while having airport security breathing down your neck if you're working a night shift. Later on in that thread the guy says he's a student, which means he either A) lives on campus somewhere with insane tuition or B) has a ton of roommates and can afford to bounce from hard labor jobs for menial pay all he wants while convincing himself that it means success. Cost of living out here is higher than it has ever been.
