I'm I really the only one that notices it going darker when 3d effect is turned on vs off? Like I said before I've set and flipped from 2d-3d for mintues to compare, it's not bothersome at all, but I can clearly see it becoming darker from 2d-3d.

Also I don't have a flash cart so can't check, but Japanese blogs are saying that when you delete your activity log/user data, everything goes away except the flash cart info... any confirmation or denial on that?

I wonder if it's a quirk of the brightness level? Perhaps one level isn't calibrated correctly for the toggle?

Look at it straight on and see. Honestly, if you're looking at it at an angle, yes, it dims, but straight on it's almost impossible to notice.

Will film, hang on...

Edit: LOL, darkens like crazy on an iPhone video recording. =/

The EULA part sounds exactly like the message you get on a Wii before a system update, warning you of a possible brick if you have been using unauthorized stuff.

I think you'd have to film it on another 3DS.

Does anyone know if GameStop (or anyone) will be doing a Saturday midnight (26-27th) launch for the 3DS?

I've decided i would like to pick it up instead of having it shipped.

My bitch ass store isn't.

I'm honestly thinking about going to the 24-hr Walmart near me around 11:30, and hoping for the best.

I don't think it actually dims. when you turn 3d, because it dims, even more backlight is employed making it up. That's why the battery dies so fast.

NA here. I'm not excited about any games except Zelda, but I haven't really been following the 3DS and the launch games coming out. I've browsed the list, but what are the one or two standout games that will surely net the best reviews?

Basically, I want to get a 3DS at launch instead of waiting until June but please help me justify the purchase. Which launch games will be the most awesome?

Will Link's Awakening DX on the Virtual Console be available at launch?

Pilotwings seems to be a good launch title.

Virtual Console won't be available until the May update with the eShop.

Slight topic change.

Few days ago I noticed my 3DS access cover on the lower side kinda overstrung. I thought my battery pack started to bloat, but that was not the case. In order to fix it, I had to do this:

Now it's all perfectly fitting in and it's no biggie actually, but I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced this. I guess this is more of an exception. Anyway, wanted to let you know this.

That was my original theory (not that I can confirm it without having my hands on a system), and some people corroborated it, but others were adamant that they were seeing clear dimming when toggling between the two modes. It's those I was asking to get a benchmark for how much of an impact it makes.

CRAZY BONUS THEORY: My laptop backlight behaves differently depending on whether it's on charge or not. Is that a factor?

How are Monkey Kart and Monkey Smash Bros.?

I heard something about being able to play through the game a second time without the bumpers? If so, that sounds reasonable, just have to get through the easy stuff first.

Don't quote me on that. I've cleared level 8, and it didn't look like anything was unlocked. Maybe I need to collect all the special bananas before something happens.

There were boss fights? I didn't encounter any in 8 worlds of the main game mode.

Okay, a short question for all of those who have a 3DS already:

how does the screen, 3D aside, hold up? How is the colour, the contrast, motion smearing? Especially contrasted to the 3DS. I'm simply really curious since it wil be quite some time until I can see it in person myself >.<

Lack of monkey target in this 3DS Monkey Ball game is a crime against humanity. In fact I'm starting to think Monkey Target should become its own game, like a Monkey version of Pilotwings.

i am so conflicted. where did you get the impression that the railings would go away in some unlockable mode? i really want to believe they'd done that. that would probably put me in the 'buy' column.

Gonna have Crysis 2 LAN'd up between two Xbox's and have 8 player deathmatches too. Should be good.

I would think they would have had too. For the month of March they have/had 1,070,000 units to sell. I would assume they would thus be able to break it down to a little over 267K a week in march.

From Amazon UK to Spain, orders above 20 pounds have the free shipping option through royal mail. Works pretty good but as I said, it takes from 3 days at best to a week.

That's really awesome! Free shipping takes just as long in the US too. Does free shipping work for all Europe?

Just set aside $250 for this thing. Feels good bro. I'll likely preorder sometime next week, I don't think it will be a problem.

Is there a specific day in May for the eShop? Looks pretty substantial.

If you have a DSi, you may be best off just using those 2000 points buying some DSiWare to transfer to your 3DS - though I'm not sure if "Wii Points" cards can be redeemed in the DSi Shop, or whether only "Nintendo Points" cards are of use (the latter were introduced post-DSi launch, IIRC).

Did you play with the stick or the motion controls? I read somewhere that the levels are different depending on which control scheme you choose. Maybe the other scheme has less rails.

I don't have a DSi. I know Wii Points are the same as Nintendo Points, they were just renamed. All this while I've been keeping it to use it on 3DS :'(

Until we know how the shop will be like, its difficult to tell. It's not like they will shutdown DSiWare access in May.

But from the sound of it, in the absence of 3DSware in the immediate future, DSiWare will be the primary downloadable store for the 3DS.

I suspect DSiWare will simply get re-branded to NintendoWare or something like that with subsections for each.

Unifying their DSi/3DS stores is an absolute must if they want to help out the devs who have put games on DSi

Why does my Amazon order say its coming on the 29th for me :/ , I am a amazon prime member and selected one day shipping, I know it cant come Sunday, but why can't it come on Monday?

also it's charging me for shipping and handling 0_o that never happened before while i was on prime, time to give amazon a call.
