Aw damn. I wonder then if the video was faked? Or it was a very specific one that works?
Whilst it's a shame, honestly it doesn't really matter. Apple headphones are nasty and you'd have to be out of your mind to use them, inline remote or not.

Edge magazine gave Pilotwings a score of 6 :(

Its a good score from Edge, don't worry... basically it means its nothing new, be it the gameplay or the scene. Yet both are great, so if you like Pilotwings, you'll love it.

Can any game get additional DLC or get patched to fix bugs and to get new features, like Xbox 360 games...?
Seems so, for instance Gamekult wrote Professor Layton offers a new puzzle each day for a year as DLC (content could already be on the card though).

Can someone explain Steel Diver to me?

I'm not kidding. Is it a sidescroller? Is it like Blue Ocean with submarines? Is it an adventure game? Is it a submarine simulator? I have no idea.

Are there any more comparison pictures out there between DS games on 3DS vs DS Lite etc?

I keep reading that it looks alot worse but I want to see for myself, the 1:1 mapped screen is too small so I'm not really interested in that. I still have lots to play so I'll mainly be using the 3DS for DS games for a while but if it's a big downgrade I'll wait until there are more 3DS games available and I'm done with the DS.

Even if it's not on the card, downloading additional new content that's in a set format is something a bit different from an actual patch that changes software behavior.

I'm pretty sure it's similar to how the GBA handled resizing GBC games (minus the aspect ratio change). Take a screenshot of a DS game and resize it to 320x240 in Photoshop (or any program that has resize filters); that's roughly how it will look.

It's three games: a side-scrolling submarine simulator, a first-person periscope-view sub shooter, and a simple tactical game.

A lot more info in this Iwata Asks interview

Rocker - Street fighter 4 has already been updated.

Now questions for anybody, But I assume dreamwriter can answer these:

Is there any possibility of in a future revision of the hardware getting cameras with better resolution? or is one fixed resolution necessary for back-wards compatibility?

2. If the system can detect that something is a flash card and log that in the history, why can't it not allow that flash card to run?

(Bonus question 3:) I haven't figured it out, but twice when I was in a game, closed the top and came back it counted the time the system was closed as playing time, thus I now have 8+ hours played in my game logs. Any idea what could cause this?

For your first question it was said in one of the Iwata asks that the cameras in the 3DS are such a low resolution because it would be expensive to calibrate two higher resolution cameras so 3D Photography ect... would work.

That doesn't exclude the possibility of an implementation when manufacturing costs decrease. Wondering more if do to ar games and such there is a need for cameras in all machines to be at a fixed resolution.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but while I was walking around Pier 39 in San Francisco they had this giant box/room in front of the pier with a countdown ending this Friday along with a phrase saying "a new dimension of fun coming soon" or something to that degree. Must be some sort of 3DS demo thing. I searched around if there was any info on it but couldn't look for anything. Might go tomorrow to check it out.

It's where we went a few times for the Gamecube launch event (press once, public another time). Was near the wax museum. Good memories..

video demonstration looks ok tbh.

Apparently they gave Pilotwings 64 a 9/10 though (according to Wikipedia.) Granted that was 15 years ago but still.

It sounds like their biggest complaint is just having one island, which I figured would be the game's biggest weakness.

Similar to the above question - I'm aware that Super Street Fighter IV still has 3D during the normal side on view, however how does it look? For anyone who has had a chance to try it, is it still impressive?

I'm actually quite looking forward to the over the shoulder view, I'd just like some more information about the 3D during the side on view.

I know I won't get a hold of the 3DS as soon as my girlfriend gets her hands on this Layton title.

Guess I'll be safe for quite some time given that Layton 4 still hasn't been released in Europe.

You can still see the effect, definitely - it's just not as pronounced as when you're in the over the shoulder mode. It's still quite impressive!

I haven't seen that specific game in 3D, but reports are that from the standard side-on view it looks a lot like the fights are playing out in a little diorama in front of you.

I've been playing tons of RR and I don't know it it's just me but the game looks significantly better with 3D enabled. Even if you just leave it at the lowest setting. To me it looks bad without 3D on but when its on the game looks quite impressive. I've played it a total of 6h 31m according to the activity log.

2D viewpoint has 3D enabled but it's nowhere near as impressive as the 3D viewpoint.

It's been on release lists for a while with a non-placeholder-looking date of July 5, so that doesn't necessarily mean a delay at all.

I thought it was slated for launch? Wasn't in the lineup PR Nintendo released?

Not an asshole.
I'm sorry if this has been answered a billion times...

I know the eShop is delayed, and you will also be able to transfer DSiware from an exsiting DSi. Does that mean I would be able to buy DSiware content at launch?

Having Shantae at launch would soften the blow quite a bit for me, since I skipped the DSi and XL.

Yeah they will be putting up DSiWare on the eShop at its launch.

I don't know how I'll ever be able to survive the wait. I only have Pokemon, Deadspace 2, Dragon Age 2, and 12 other backlog games to finish.

Well, it's not like it's going to disappear anytime soon. No harm in being LTTP, since you already are anyway... :p

Nope, which sucks. I would absolutely buy Shantae on Day 1 if I could (and I will buy it the first day it's available).

And even i am moderately surprised
Another question, does PES 2011 still use 3D when you are in classic view?

yes, but it's less pronounced and that's why the default view is more akin to Super Formation Soccer.

I imagine the one thing 3D would be good for in broadcast view would be lobs. I can never judge where a lob is going from that angle in Fifa.

Watched some videos about Mii Field. That's so cool lol. I hope this works out without meeting anyone. I doubt I'll meet some people in my area here any time soon :(

It seems I'll be happy for a few weeks with the 3ds alone

yeah, it's good for judging exactly where the ball is when you pump forward a long ball or you're swinging a cross over.

I switched straight to classic view but may switch back to the default as that actually made the 3D more "useful" as it helps judging through balls/passes etc from that view point.

But then it doesn't quite feel like WE :D

Gameplay-wise how are you liking it? This may be the only launch title I pick up so I'm hoping it plays well.

Does the effect really lose it's luster when you move slightly left or right?

The way I understand it, the 3D effect is completely gone if you move out of the sweet spot, and the resulting image is so jarring it's unplayable.
