I'm trying to think of some explanations to rationalise that biological hazard but coming up blank

on a now seemingly unrelated note, has anyone tried the 3d when intoxicated? Does it turn into a portable headache machine?

This is the game I want to buy at launch. I love the series.

I have a couple of questions: How are the graphics? The screenshots released by Sega looked very bad.

Do you have experience with previous Super Monkey Ball games? Some people feel the controls very loose because they expect to control the ball, but in reality, you are moving the world... most people I know expect controls similar to Marble Blast Ultra. But maybe this is not the case and the controls are indeed loose.

Graphics are not excatly up to the level where you are going to want to reveal your keyboard to the world to show them off, but they suffice. Racing game to me reminds me of chocobo's racing(asthetically), but it's probably been too long since I've played ps1 all-polygon games.

I played the orginal Monkey Ball for Gamecube, don't remember it too well. I'm talking more about loose controls in the racing and boxing section, floaty almost. As for monkey ball itself, maybe I just need to get used to the motion sensor.

Beautifully handled - bravo! :)

Better yet, has anyone tried it stoned?

5 days of trying and I'm still yet to meet anybody using Street Pass or recieve any street fighter figures, all my settings are open but still nothing. I've even been to McDonalds 3 times this week and no hits. I don't think anybody in Nagoya has a 3DS.

Anybody got the Street Pass to work?

Last try;
I've got a brand new 3DS Cosmo Black for sale for 395US dollars, that also includes shipping. PM if interested.

Nintendogs pre-order canceled! F**k that shit, I'll just go back to waiting for my Nintencats then.

I never had it pre-ordered to begin with, was just gonna get it with my system on launch but I've always wanted to tip over a magazine rack!

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
Are you putting it to sleep and making sure it's green up in the top left? I have no idea what it says though...

I haven' found anyone on Street Pass yet either though.

haha yeah I am having the same Mii problem as well.

My 3DS came early in the morning so when I did the auto-generate thing it ended up making me look like a stoner because I was sleepy. I just named him Stoner and kept it without realizing I would be stuck with him now haha.

Okay so I WAS a little high

Just updated my 3DS firmware and it came with a the live performance of the Mario theme from the 3DS event a while ago.

And Streetpass is great. I love coming home and seeing I got a new Mii. :D

I haven't put it to sleep I just close the lid and leave it in the home menu, the green indicator is on in the top left, but still nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

So I just saw a 3DS for the first time in person and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Blue is definitely a lot darker in person than some of the pics make it out to be. That said, I can't believe Nintendo showed off a way better blue 3DS in a promo video today. I expected the depth into the screen, but what surprised me was when stuff actually popped out of the screen. I wasn't prepared for that but totally wowed by it.

So the stuff I tried were:

Dead or Alive
Street Fighter 4
Resident Evil
Movie Trailers

First thing, I'm honestly surprised at how long it took to get good word on framerates about games. SF4 is clearly not 60 fps with 3D turned on. DoA is also not even 30 fps a lot of the time with 3D turned on. It is 60 with it turned off.

It also seems weird that the slider is totally dependent on the developer. I would have thought that Nintendo would just give an API to handle a lot of that. What I mean by that is DoA is a slider that changes depth and then totally turns off 3D when all the way off. SF4 slider changes depth but even with no depth you still have to turn it off in a menu. In Resident Evil, it's either on or off with no varying degree of depth. It just seems really weird and I think it's going to be all over the place for the first year of games.

All the games were pretty solid but nothing that you haven't played before. It's just now portable on a Nintendo system and you get a nice 3D effect. SF4 over the shoulder despite the 3D depth seemed harder to play and I hate the d-pad for SF4. I hate it so much that I'm no longer buying the game at launch since it was not very responsive.

Tomorrow I'll check out Zelda, Steel Diver, Pilot Wings, Kid Icarus, Lego Star Wars and Nintendogs + Cats.

I think that's it... I can't actually read it so I'm just guessing.

Actually I think Nintendo requires that 3D games use the slider's full range. The reason that Resident Evil didn't, was because it's a video, and videos only support the 3D setting they were rendered at.

But yeah, what it does when set to 2D, that's totally game-dependent.

Resident Evil wasn't video; it was playable.

Okay, so have you decided which colour you are going with? I still haven't...

I'm heavily leaning on blue now after seeing both in person. Black just looks so plain and dull when seeing them side by side. That's from looking both open and closed. I could change my mind like I have in the past, but I've never felt this close to deciding on blue. I'll see how itgoes by the end of the week as I see them more, but definitely most likely blue at this point. Here's the other blue I mentioned. The white balance is a bit off but youc an see it's a much nicer blue and it's uniform for the entire body.

That's a blue I could get behind.

If you want to find people with StreetPass, first you need to make sure that each program (SSFIV, Mii Plaza, 3DS Sound, etc.) is configured to have it enabled. Basically, in the settings for each program (設定), the various privacy permissions (make public: 公開) should all be set to Yes (する), not No (しない).

Simply closing the lid at the home menu puts your system into sleep mode, but you can't just leave it on your desk at home overnight and expect hits. You need to get outside and walk around where there are lots of people if you want to find anybody.

Also, the indicator light is in the top-right, and doesn't always turn on when it should. I was running 3DS Sound in Shibuya over lunch today, and the green light didn't turn on even though I got 4 people.

Note: I've yet to update the firmware, so this and other issues may have been fixed.

Hmm that's odd I've only got Ridge Racer and the Mii Channel in there... I think I'm looking at the right spot (under the DSiWare and 3DS logo in the settings). There's no toggle switch I can see. Is that the right spot?

Kinda odd SFIV3D isn't there either. I don't expect anyone with StreetPass to be around in Perth, Western Australia anyway - I guess in English I'll be able to figure it out easier lol.

I've only seen the light once and that was when the Update was available. It flashed blue.

In Mii Plaza, under the toolbox icon for settings (設定)...

StreetPass Yes (する)/No (しない)
Mii Invitations (Invite Miis met in other games to the Mii Plaza?) Yes/No
Evaluations (Receive Mii approvals/disapprovals from people you meet more than once.) Receive (もらう)/Don't (もらわない)
Skip greetings Yes/No
Other
Return

Under Other...

Erase personal greetings
Quit StreetPass Puzzle
Quit StreetPass Quest
Return

SSFIV later.

And even i am moderately surprised
you need to set up each game from with in the game.

So , e.g. for SF4, you have to set up your team and then "submit" it for Streetpass. It'll say "okay, next time you have someone pass, this will work"

it SHOULD add to the main menu defaulted to Public On.

Bought Shanghai 3D and Super Monkey Ball today - eek, 10 game library in under a week

I think I lashed out initially at the blue 3DS having a mismatched black area out of principle, but over time I've come to like it.

The black, in person, looks quite boring.

Still, nothing tops red.

Translation Awesomes

Hmm looks like I had them set on anyway, but the icon in the top left is still blue - not green. Thanks a lot for those translations, it helps.

I figured out SSFIV3D and that's now showing in the StreetPass 'app' slots.

The wireless light flashes when it's sleep so I assume it's doing it's thing.

Should I get Monkey Ball.. or just wait for the AU one :/
