on a now seemingly unrelated note, has anyone tried the 3d when intoxicated? Does it turn into a portable headache machine?
Fernando Rocker said:This is the game I want to buy at launch. I love the series.
I have a couple of questions: How are the graphics? The screenshots released by Sega looked very bad.
Do you have experience with previous Super Monkey Ball games? Some people feel the controls very loose because they expect to control the ball, but in reality, you are moving the world... most people I know expect controls similar to Marble Blast Ultra. But maybe this is not the case and the controls are indeed loose.
FINALFANTASYDOG said:Graphics are not excatly up to the level where you are going to want to reveal your keyboard to the world to show them off, but they suffice. Racing game to me reminds me of chocobo's racing(asthetically), but it's probably been too long since I've played ps1 all-polygon games.
I played the orginal Monkey Ball for Gamecube, don't remember it too well. I'm talking more about loose controls in the racing and boxing section, floaty almost. As for monkey ball itself, maybe I just need to get used to the motion sensor.

TwinIonEngines said:Yeah, I'm sure that stereo 3D displays and drugs that impair your depth perception go together like Cheetos and keyboard.

Those are some nice bricks in comparison.

Yeah. That thing is beyond saving.AceBandage said:Screw that.
Just burn it and get a new one.
Put it out of its misery.
VOOK said:Are you putting it to sleep and making sure it's green up in the top left? I have no idea what it says though...
I haven' found anyone on Street Pass yet either though.foreveralone.jpg

Actually I think Nintendo requires that 3D games use the slider's full range. The reason that Resident Evil didn't, was because it's a video, and videos only support the 3D setting they were rendered at.Marty Chinn said:What I mean by that is DoA is a slider that changes depth and then totally turns off 3D when all the way off. SF4 slider changes depth but even with no depth you still have to turn it off in a menu. In Resident Evil, it's either on or off with no varying degree of depth. It just seems really weird and I think it's going to be all over the place for the first year of games.

But yeah, what it does when set to 2D, that's totally game-dependent.
Marty Chinn said:So I just saw a 3DS for the first time in person and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Blue is definitely a lot darker in person than some of the pics make it out to be. That said, I can't believe Nintendo showed off a way better blue 3DS in a promo video today.
Spike said:Okay, so have you decided which colour you are going with? I still haven't...
Could you upload your shots? I'm sure they'll be interesting to see.donkey show said:Been taking some shots of the Clipper game here in staples center with the 3DS. The 3D effect is pretty prominent in a lot of them.
Marty Chinn said:I'm heavily leaning on blue now after seeing both in person. Black just looks so plain and dull when seeing them side by side. That's from looking both open and closed. I could change my mind like I have in the past, but I've never felt this close to deciding on blue. I'll see how itgoes by the end of the week as I see them more, but definitely most likely blue at this point. Here's the other blue I mentioned. The white balance is a bit off but youc an see it's a much nicer blue and it's uniform for the entire body.

I think that's it... I can't actually read it so I'm just guessing.
Cheeese?

Basically, in the settings for each program (設定, the various privacy permissions (make public: 公開 should all be set to Yes (する, not No (しない.
Simply closing the lid at the home menu puts your system into sleep mode, but you can't just leave it on your desk at home overnight and expect hits. You need to get outside and walk around where there are lots of people if you want to find anybody.
Also, the indicator light is in the top-right, and doesn't always turn on when it should. I was running 3DS Sound in Shibuya over lunch today, and the green light didn't turn on even though I got 4 people.
Note: I've yet to update the firmware, so this and other issues may have been fixed.
VOOK said:Hmm that's odd I've only got Ridge Racer and the Mii Channel in there... I think I'm looking at the right spot (under the DSiWare and 3DS logo in the settings). There's no toggle switch I can see. Is that the right spot?
Kinda odd SFIV3D isn't there either. I don't expect anyone with StreetPass to be around in Perth, Western Australia anyway - I guess in English I'll be able to figure it out easier lol.
I've only seen the light once and that was when the Update was available. It flashed blue.
