FINALLY.......it's been a long while . Still really miss Iwata since it won't be the same without him and his quirkyness. Kinda worried at no Japanese Nintendo Direct so I don't expect much from this but hopefully they show at least 1 new Smash character.......and Pokemon Z.

yes, TP was kind of dissapointing, they would have to rework the game a bit to make it worth replaying/pretty

the designs in smash 4 aren't exactly the designs from tp, they are a little different, ganondorf for example looks really goofy compared to brawl, which was the original ganondorf design from TP

Well, TheDinoman asked specifically about Ganondorf. The character you refer to is definitely Ganondorf-y, but not enough to be as a base for "default" Ganondorf.

You'd go from Queen Zelda to teenage girl Zelda. In a fighting game, the older, more mature design works a lot better.

Why would they waste dev time doing that when modified TP designs work perfectly fine?

...and? Select screen says Zelda, not Princess Zelda.

Edit: Even Zelda's amiibo doesn't say Princess on it anywhere. There's no qualifier that only the Princess version can be allowed in the game. SS Zelda was in Hyrule Warriors and no one questioned that inclusion.

Its been noted previously that direct announcements for Japan tend to come later - presumably because of the timezone differences. Announcing a direct when the sun isn't even up probably wouldn't be the best strategy.

I'd sooner see it in 720p with a decent amount of graphical improvement in regards to textures, grass, fur, character models etc.

Windwaker in 1080p worked well due to the already great cartoon art. Twilight Princess is going to take far more effort to get it looking decent in HD...and I don't think going the 1080p route will allow for much improvement outside of better lighting.

I honestly couldn't care less about Smash roster, I just showed why SS Zelda is kind of... "off-brand", if one could say so.

SS Zelda is my favourite, but OoT and TP Zeldas (as well as pretty awesome Hyrule Warriors design) capture the general image of the character far better.

Welp, if Japan is included, then I expect it to be better, although I expect that all major development for WiiU to be shifted already to NX, so maybe new small projects.

Even if Japan isn't going to have a direct it doesn't mean this will be an underwhelming direct. There are a ton of games that Japan has that we're all dying for: Dragon Quest 7 & 8, Monsters 1/2/J3, and Rocket Slime... as well as The Great Ace Attorney & Monster Hunter X, all of which Nintendo has a history of helping localize and/or publish in those franchises.
