Nintendo Direct coming November 12 [Over]

As usual, I shall go in with no real expectations, and come away pleased if not overjoyed.

Same method I go into E3s with and it (almost) never fails.

The update with 5 new levels for ASA drops on the 12th as well. They should at least mention it (and that the game's on sale) to give it a little bit of exposure. It deserves it, as it's one of the most involved and lovingly-crafted indie games I've ever played.

If people haven't already tried ASA they really, really should.

After getting stung at E3 with one of their worst presentations ever, I'm expecting very little out of this, especially after their radio silence since said E3 presentation.

So, what are the chance we'll see Tatsumi Kimishima in the North American Nintendo Direct? I'm looking forward to one after such a long absence but i'm wondering if they're going to address his leadership/the direction of Nintendo going forward.

Soundtrack quality Twilight Princess music versus the super compressed stuff we got to listen to is almost worth the price of admission.

Smash Bros spoiled me on the three soundtrack quality songs and now I can't listen to the music actually on the disc without wishing it were the master copies used for Brawl.

Guys, I've found the perfect music for Zelda: Twilight Princess HD reveal trailer or something: https://tcrf.net/images/e/e6/Ds_zelda_gallery_theme.ogg

(It's "field.bms", aka "DS Trailer Pak" - beta Hyrule Field theme. Sounds somewhat off due to restoration process, but man is it epic.)

I thought this track was still left in the final game just unused. Or is my memory already playing tricks on me?

Edit: I see it's a different version. I do know that I have a better sounding .mp3 from all tehe way back from the E3 2005 download that was provided back than. Should see if I can still find it somewhere on my HDD...

I get what you are saying. Last E3 is pretty bad, but the 5 worst E3's in Nintendo's history are:

1. 2008
2. 2008
3. 2008
4. 2008
5. 2008

Personally, I'm not hyped at all. Not because Nintendo doesn't deserve the hype, but because I feel like this will be more or less a phoned-in ND for the holidays to showcase things already announced or about to release.

I would expect the next ND to be more exciting.

Hype hype hype!

I'm honestly surprised they're gonna touch up on the 3DS. I thought it was set to affectionately retire with everything already announced for it in the pipeline.

SO what are people realistically expecting to see?

The only thing I'm hoping for and pretty sure will show up is maybe Twilight Princess HD along with more info on Xenoblade and MAYBE Star Fox

They'd need to change the music reaction system in the game to do that.

I thought it worked for Wind Waker, but it didn't really benefit Twilight Princess much at all.

It was left, but nobody could actually load and play it due to missing lead instrument. However, the instrument was partially restored just a few months ago.

Here's how it sounds in-game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37jYWiun9oY Of course the theme is dynamic, so it sounds differently when Link is not riding Epona and when he is on Death Mountain.

Star Fox is Q1 so it's very likely. Mario Tennis, Paper Jam and Animal Crossing and Yokai Watch will likely be in it as well.

Same. I'm happy that a new Direct is happening but I feel very indifferent with Nintendo right now because of the radio silence they've had since E3. Makes me think Nintendo doesn't care about it's fans/customers by not revealing or saying anything for too long. Hope that changes this thursday though... I still have a bit of hope...

Iwata died, dude. Of course they weren't going to do a Direct for awhile.

Now that I think about it, with Twilight Princess HD coming out, it explains why they kept Zelda, Link and G-dorf in their TP models for Smash, rather than giving them SS models.

their president passed away. And it's not radio silence at all, we got smash bros stages, game releases like mario maker, updates like splatoon in august. The only thing that didn't happen was a direct.

It's 100% possible. The Smash songs arent remixes, just the original master copies of the midis. They're still just midis.

The songs on the GCN/Wii discs were ultra compressed or the midis were broken or something. Brawl/Smash 4 have the only public versions of the uncompressed songs as they were meant to be heard.

Ganondorf and Sheik don't have SS models and SS Zelda wouldn't work in Smash.

At long last. Iwata left some huge shoes for filling, though.

In general I think it's because the TP designs are more franchise neutral. SS Zelda wouldn't really fit Smash and someone like Ganondorf doesn't even have a design they could use from that title.

I hope goofy stuff like this continues Iwata was a legend

Man there are going to be a ton of announcement... I just hope Nintendo shakes off a ton of the problems they've been having since E3.

I think Nintendo is having a Direct because people keep demanding a Direct.

I also wonder if this is because they didn't expect their stock to go down as dramatically as it did.

He wasn't just the president in this case AFAIK. The Nintendo Directs was Iwata's own project.

How would that work, when Kimishima said at least one more Direct would appear this year during the Shareholder's Meeting?

It's going to be:

"Look at all the great software you haven't bought yet that we released this year."

but I secretly desire Picross 3D2 available after the presentation ends.

Whatever form they take in the future, I hope the Directs continue their tradition of weird, gif-worthy humor. I think that's one of their most important aspects, aside from the information they deliver.

They confirmed a direct before year end before the stock issue, the stock issue happened few days ago no time to create a direct just after that, their stock is back at their previous value since yesterday I think, so... I would say no.
