Nintendo Direct coming November 12 [Over]

Man, those aren't anime characters just because they had animation made for them after their games. If that were the case link and Mario would be too. (They have manga) They are game characters, that's the point. Originally from a video game, not originally from an anime with a successful game franchise like goku. Cmon it's not that hard.

but the argument spawns from a haruka gif, which is from idolm@ster, which is a game first before anime....

I think it's called Lost Reavers now and has (or is having) a beta in Japan.
Yep and it looks rough as hell. Tbh all I want is some firmed up release dates for next year for things like StarFox and possibly Zelda but thats wishful thinking.

Obviously we will see Hyrule Warriors 3D, Animal Crossinhlg Amiibo Party, Ultra Smash Tennis and Mario and Luigi Paper Jam.

Expect Twilight Princess hd but not rxpecting any other surprises. Id bet most of Nintendos resource is focussed on Zelda U and NX launch so content will likely be light.

no an anime game to me is about the graphical style not where it originated from Zelda has never had anime style graphics the closest would be wind waker with Cell shaded graphics but even then the two are two completely different style of graphics.

While a lot of anime has a very similar aesthetic to it, the range of artstyle anime has can pretty much make it so something like Wind Waker fits in that aesthetic.

That's an anime short called Cannon Fodder.
In the context of smash brothers though

Except this exchange came from he not wanting a character that is originally from a game on Smash. And I've already asked that in a further reply and it's not it. "Not being originally from a game" is a somewhat valid reason for not wanting x character in smash, although I would argue that "That character is not best known for a game" is a better reason. "Being anime" as in art style is not.

I know, I saw that. I'm ok with any game character getting in. I have no problem with idol master characters. I just don't want non-gaming properties like goddamn goku, superman, and Mickey Mouse in this game.

I have no qualms with specific art styles. Let's just keep it within the realm of characters from gaming and I'll be happy. Even if it's clearly an anime inspired or stylized character, I'm cool with it.

Guys, that won't happen either way. End of story.

i don't care at all tbh, but he's arguing using the generic term 'anime art' which is for me is pretty laughable
********
speaking of lost reavers... what happened to that game? haven't heard a thing about the beta after it was announced.

Listen to him...or her. But listen.

Listening "Romance in the sky" from Skyward Sword and hoping that Link will have an hot-air ballon in the new Zelda and they will show a teaser of it with the mentioned song playing in the background.

I'm still waiting for Link on a Blimp myself.

I miss Vinci. :(

Unfortunatly...you're wrong. Anime games, anime art styles in general can vary drastically. This is the same tired and bizarre argument used against JRPGs that dare to try something different and suddenly don't count as JRPGs. Zelda has ALWAYS had an "anime" art style (aside from the CDi games)

artwork is very different then how it is in game if that were the case then metroid would be anime because Nintendo has used that style or artwork for the series before.
It's very different from how it is in game because of graphical limitations, and graphical limitations alone. What's supposed to be represented in Zelda is a game where you play as a young anime-style boy going on an adventure to defeat a big evil demon. That's been constant since day 1. Even more modern Zelda like Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds and etc. are all anime style games.

IIRC, Project Guard was scrapped due to basically being not fun, but Project Giant Robo is alive, has a logo and was even during the latest investors meeting.

Project guard is going to be a starfox minigame and you know it.

Hopefully it's not a required level in the game.

I really hope they have something great in store for the 3DS. Since I bought a PS4, I haven't been buying any 3dS games cause I can only afford a game per month.

No JP direct, no hype.

Will be pleasantly surprised if there's TPHD but I was really expecting that to be shown at the game awards.

I wonder if NoA will make an exception to the "focus on an indie game developed in the NoA territory" rule this time, by spending time on Fast Racing NEO instead? Damon Baker talking a lot about Octodad instead of Affordable Space Adventure in the Nintendo Direct this spring showed that this rule has to be removed.

The update with 5 new levels for ASA drops on the 12th as well. They should at least mention it (and that the game's on sale) to give it a little bit of exposure. It deserves it, as it's one of the most involved and lovingly-crafted indie games I've ever played.

Oh, it's on sale? Til when!? For how much!?
