Already at the last thread for the year, crazy how time flies. I'm looking to pick up eshop only titles I missed through out the year. Oh and Steamworld Heist for sure .

I didn't post in the November thread once so I feel compelled to start December on the right foot.

Very excited for FAST and while I haven't messed around with most of the Free to Start games on 3DS, I'll definitely spend some time on Pokemon Picross!

Now let's see if any cool indies and Virtual Console stuff turns this month into a Christmas miracle.

A couple of cool puzzle games people shouldn't miss out on (North America only, sorry Europe):

Looking forward to quite a few games this month.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is the big one, the data packs are already on my Wii U, wonder if I can find an early copy in stores.

Fast Racing NEO looks pretty cool as well but I'm hella picky when it comes to racing games. I'm hesitating to buy it without trying, hope they have a demo.

Zack & Wiki was one of my favourite Wii games and had some of the best uses of motion controls. Will rebuy as soon as hits.

Pokémon Picross will probably consume my life just like Shuffle is doing and will have a permanent place on my 3DS.

Steamworld Heist also looks great. I bought Dig the day it hit the eShop and I also own it on PC and Vita and Heist looks even more up my alley. Hope it's good.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam will eventually make its way into my 3DS but I can't say I'm super excited about it just yet. Dream Team is still too fresh in my memory and I wanted to replay Superstar Saga first.

re: Steamworld Heist - Image & Form tweeted last night that they'd have cool news today so maybe we'll finally get a date! (assuming it's next week)

While Xenoblade looks awesome, I'm probably gonna buy it some other time, I don't have time to play such a massive game.
I really liked Steamword Dig so I'm probably gonna buy Heist, even if it looks very different.

Man, $20 for Steamworld Heist. That's a significant increase over Dig. I'm assuming this is a much bigger game.

Edit - According to the team, it's 10 times bigger than Heist. Whoa. I'm really hoping this is cross-buy with the eventual Wii U version.

Wait? SteamWorld Heist is this momth, too? As is Fast Racing Neo? Shit. Want to play those but I still have to buy christmas presents. Have to postpone the purchase. Probably wouldn't have time between Xenoblade and Fallout 4 either. :/

I always wanted the AVGN game. :( Shit I want never comes out in my region. >_<

Yea I could get the Steam one, but it feels more right having it on a Nintendo system. Damn Nintendo and their locking of region changing on 3DS.

Hey guys just got a Wii U.
So if I've been reading right, if I buy Wii game through the e-shop, I can play it with Off TV, but if I buy a physical copy I can't, because it boots Wii mode?

Correct. Also take note unless the game allowed for the classic controller, you CAN'T use the Wii U Gamepad to control the game, so no Super Mario Galaxy 2, though something like Xenoblade or Sin & Punishment would work.

You can use Off-TV mode (or perhaps better said Gamepad mirroring) on both regular Wii mode and with Wii software downloaded from the Wii U eShop. You'll be presented with an option when booting.

With Wii software downloaded from the eshop you may be able to use the Gamepad as a controller if the original game supported the Classic Controller.

Very interested in that Pokemon Picross. Too bad I need a new 3DS cord. Also, I was quite saddened to see Xenoblade at Target today. It's taunting me, since I'm waiting until X-Mas to get it.

Oooooh, that's right, Nintendo patched the feature in if you wanted to use the Gamepad as a TV when playing via the Wii Menu app. But yeah, you can only use the Gamepad as an actual controller if you downloaded the game & it had Classic Controller support.

Thanks guys.
Shame about SMG2, since I was hoping I would be able to play it while in my bed, but I guess I'll be able to play Xenoblade Chronicles in bed without having to upgrade to a N3DS.

The Super Mario Galaxy games heavily rely on motion/pointer controls, it would be impossible on the GamePad anyway.

Unless that game is RE4 which bizarrely does not support GamePad controls despite supporting the Classic Controller originally. Someone messed up big time there.

Would a bit difficult for SMG2 since it has some wii remote challenges. But I'll never understand why they didn't offer that option in DKC Returns.

It's a compilation of six different play styles, most are good but the endoscopy section is terrible. What makes it great though is the forensic sections, which play out like a more serious Phoenix Wright and are surprisingly lengthy and involved. A full spinoff forensics game is one of my most wished for games that is never going to happen. But then again we got a Nier 2 so never say never I guess!
