The US version of MK64 plays wonderfully. So glad everyone kicked up a fuss back when 50hz Balloon Fight started off the WiiU VC!

Haven't updated my friends list in a while. Add me folks! NNID; Phoenom.

Wondering what other big name VC games are still yet to come. I know Skyward Sword was on that leaked JPN release schedule a while back...

F-Zero X is the big one that's missing (and was released on Wii VC). That will be glorious in 60Hz finally! Hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Can you still buy WiiWare on Wii U? Someone in my Mega Man 9&10 thread indicated that the only way to get those on the Wii U was through a system transfer from a Wii.

Gives all the fucks
You have to go through the Wii app, then access the Wii Shop Channel from there. That's the only way to play games only available on the Wii or WiiWare.

System Transfer shouldn't matter. I had some left over points & downloaded Gradius (NES) on the Wii Shop Channel, downloaded it onto the system, then accessed the eShop so I could get the discount to upgrade to the Wii U VC version.

Thanks. I don't actually have a Wii U, but I was just wondering, in case my Wii goes bad or something.

Anyway, I did my system transfer to the 2DS and that one has started hurting my wrist, so as soon as a week is up, I'm going to system transfer to my XL.

Pilotwings too, no? And Yoshi's Story is missing too from the Nintendo published N64 games. I so hope, we will see 3rd Party N64 games someday...

Of course. Everything on the Wii Shop Channel is still live and you can naturally access it in Wii Mode on Wii U - that's what we mean whenever we say Wii U is the only current gen console with 100% backwards compatibility. Whoever told you this was completely wrong.

If by any chance someone have purchased the Japanese version of Hyrule Warriors : Legends, and have the DLC code to unlock the new content for the Wii U. Send me a PM.

Wasn't sure where to ask this; have there been any hints that Wii U will receive more N64 games than just the ones on Wii? Or are we stuck with just that selection forever?

There are as usual zero hints in regards to anything regarding VC.

Since the SFC30 received an update to be recognized as a Wii U Pro Controller, me and a friend took the day and played a few hours of Kirby's Dream Course against each other. Still a fantastic game and great to have on the VC :)

This week in Europe!

One of my GOAT.
Could finish it at 100% missed an item in a quest so I was stuck.

Still an amazing piece of software. I was restarting it on one of my GBAs, but I might buy it again to see it on the big screen and pump that music up !

Gives all the fucks
Weelllll, Mario Kart 8 & Hyrule Warriors sort of kind of had what you could call "season passes" considering you were buying all of the DLC in advance for a discount & could download them for free once they were released. I don't know if Nintendo specifically called them that, but I know a good amount of people on GAF were calling them that.

Can we class those games as having a season pass though when there is stuff locked behind Amiibos?

MK8 only had Mii outfits which only changed the look while HW had the Spinner weapon, which is unlocked from the start on the 3DS version.

Considering how much the DLCs added in comparison, I would say so. In the case of MK8, the amiibo is purely cosmetic & doesn't change the gameplay in anyway.

What does that have to do with anything? Two completely unrelated things. That's like saying "does it have multiplayer if you need a second controller?"

Fair enough, in my head I guess I just think of a season pass being you get all the games extra content within the pass

In any case, its good to see WB have supported the Wii U with it here, i'm sure it puts some people off buying the Lego games on Wii U when they hear extra content isn't going to be available like with the Batman games

Arkham Origins had one ...until WB cheaped out and canceled it.
After the last fuck-ups with WB regarding season-passes and DLC for the Wii U (and the shit they are getting for Arkham Knight/MKX on PC)...

IF you see a game released by WB

Most of the Lego games sell more on WiiU then PS4 and Xbox one

So NA is getting Shadow Puppeteer and FreezeMe at the same time? Sweet!

too bad the Wii U indie scene is dead according to GAF. All these games must not actually exist.

FreezeME is only coming to NA. (dev is still waiting for PAL ratings)

And yes to SP.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on Wii U VC...
It's like a dream. I played the original and loved it to death. Never got the chance to try this out, but now Square Enix have fulfilled one of my desires. ;_;

I highly recommend FFTA. I put about 200 hours into it on GBA when it was released.

That being said, I don't think I could play through it again, especially with the stupid law system.

I felt like that was a pretty clever way to get you to add some variety to your team.

Well sure, but some stages ended up taking forever because attacking in any way was against the law so you had to reconfigure your team to kill everything with Counter.
