Nintendo Downloads - May 2014

According to NintendoLife, Alien on the Run is a really good little game, its from g-style, the same ones from jump trials supreme.

I just came to post the same thing. Apparently there's a demo, too! They gave it an 8/10.

Alien on the Run is a pleasant surprise, but don't take our word for it: it has a free downloadable demo available now on the 3DS eShop, so you can check it out. We think it's worth the low price of admission for dozens of shrewdly-designed levels of unique action racing gameplay; the 3D graphics and bizarre sense of humour are simply icing on the extraterrestrial cake. With intuitive controls and quick portable-friendly stages, Alien on the Run is a title you'll have trouble putting down.

I'm not sure I'm enjoying Ittle Dew as much as I'd like and anticipated :/
The game looks lovely, really it seems the word has been cut around this game's visuals because it's really that: LOVELY. You could easily mistaken it for a top notch Nintendo 2D production and if the sheer quality of the art could've been followed by comparable variety/quantity then you'd get a perfect match.
The downfall of the game IMO is its mediocre combat mechanics. Honestly, it looks like the devs knew that from the beginning since Ittle Dew is a 2D Zelda sans combat and enough action to really be considered a proper Zelda-esque game: the vast majority of ID's gameplay revolves around puzzle-solving of the push-this-block nature. I miss the action, but the combat's so mediocre that you'll be happy there's so little of it and yet... something's missing. Boss battles are also puzzles to solve and in true Zelda fashion you'll be using the latest item you've acquired to beat it. Also, the game is pretty short and if it weren't for the production values the asking price would be honestly way too much. I'm not one to value filler/padding in a game or even prioritize the length of a game over a tightly built experience, but I feel there's some minimum standards a game should aim for and provide in relation to the asking price (I mean, I didn't buy Ground Zeroes despite loving MGS and dying to play it). I liked the story, it's charmingly simple and well written and the characters borrowed from TWW Link's designs appeal to infuse their portraits with character and emotions, I loved that!

Well, just my two cents anyway... hopefully it'll d...DON'T SHOOT ME PLEASE! XD

Thanks for the impressions. This is the overall feeling I'd be getting from reviews and stuff I'd read so I really appreciate your thoughts.

I anticipated Alien on the Run being good. G-Style makes good games that are sadly overlooked.

Their output is akin to really good B or C-tier Dreamcast era games. Chain Blaster and Crazy Construction are two of the best games on the 3DS eShop and Undead Bowling is pretty good as well (goofy as hell to boot). Their only real misstep is Jump Trials (which isn't bad) in comparison to 10 Second Run.

I really wish Tom Create would produce more 3DS content, their DSiWare games were actually really good. I would really like a new 10 Second Run, Portable Shrine Wars and Undead Storm.

It's over now, but the developer of Abyss on Wii U ran a small contest today by the way (in Miiverse). He gave 5 Unepic download keys for the winners. A small thing but pretty awesome anyway.

apparently Advance Wars Days of Ruin and Nintendouji are now available to purchase on the Japanese eShop

DoR isn't actually a DSiWare though, right? Wouldn't be possible due to the size limitations.

So Nintendo actually put a full DS game up on the eShop? I hope they aren't doing it just because it was never released in Japan and will begin putting more DS games on there.

That'd be irony. Give Japan imports and never released stuff but no one else.

Murasame? Wasn't that rated ages ago? Didn't think this would still get released. Hope it comes to the US too, or to WiiU in Europe.

Yup! Appeared last year on the ACB website... I wonder what it means. Did they translate the game? Was there anything to translate at all? Does it mean anything (upcoming reboot à la Kid Icarus maybe?).

Man seeing those batman games reminds me i still need to sell them. One of those few games i regret purchasing even after doing extended research.

I will probably grab murasame i was always interested in that game.

Damn, Batman Arkham Origins is really tempting at that price. I know about its problems, but for such price it should be a good purchase. I really liked AC.

Those sales reminds me: still no price drop/discout for Assassin's Creed IV in Europe, since that 44.99€ for Christmas. Definitely buying it when it drops to 29.99€ :)

At last, after 28 years, muramase castle arrives in Europe, i hope we get it in America too

And yes a 3ds reboot of Muramase would be great, i like the premise

Great batman sales!

I dont like batman games all that much... my brother gave me Arkhan City and im struggling to get at it and finish it

But everybody seems to love em, so... great!

If these sales come to the Canadian eshop, I'll get both Batman games. I already own (and love) Arkham City, but I'll probably sell my physical copy, as I prefer my games digital. Do you guys know if the eshop version of Arkham City fixes the nasty Harley Quinn bug?

The game plays fine Arkham Origins is way worth it at that price

I wish they put Arkham Origins Blackgate on the eshop on sale too

The thing about the WB games for me is the physical price is tanking quite badly so even with NNP these deals remain good for now but unclear in the long term. Well there is the bonus that they should get Club Nintendo (not Arkham City) as NOE lists them but the boxed releases don't have them.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (WB Games) - €9.99/£8.74 (Ends June 5, nomally €39.99/£34.99)
Isn't this like 4 months old as well?

Well first time i remember AC3 went under 30 was during last holiday season, so if we are lucky expect it to go on sale during the holiday season this year .

Actually, there was a 34.99€ sales (pretty acceptable for me) in March 2013 (?) I believe... it was the week the 18+ restrictions on the eShop were lifted. But there was no such sale this year, and I got no idea why. Anyway, got enough on my plate already, so I don't mind too much for now. At the very least, there'll be a Christmas sale :)

Vanillalite

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Damn!!

I hope the US eshop gets all of that!

I'd love to get Injustice and maybe Batman for the cheap low.

Plus Kart and Minish Cap!

Dash Kappei

Not actually that important
How's the WiiU port of Mystara?

I know there's a japanese only PS3 retail release which was handled by emulation wizards M2 instead of Iron Galaxy iirc, is that the one to get? I own every platform btw, but I'd prefer not going PC for those games if possible
