In addition, to help fans start playing as soon as possible, we’re offering a new buying option that lets you pre-load the game before it launches. Here’s how it works: Starting today, if you pre-purchase the game in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U, it will pre-load the game to your system so you’ll be able to play after a small game update when it launches on May 29. Be one of the first to play!
High Strangeness – High Strangeness is the first of its kind – a deftly blended hybrid of 8- and 16-bit games. Drawing inspiration from some of the timeless RPG and adventure classics that hailed from both generations, players take on the role of Boyd, who along with his trusty (yet sarcastic) feline friend, traverses between two worlds in order to solve a multi-layered mystery. The game’s core ability is to switch between 8- and 16-bit worlds to solve puzzles and explore the universe. Click here to view a trailer for the game.

It's updated. I see that the first Mega May game was added, and the eShop now has Splatoon music!

Edit: Oh cool, Legend of Dark Witch now has a demo? Might as well check it out since I see it on sale sometimes.

So since Nintendo hasn't posted the PR yet, here's the new stuff I sound on the NA Wii U and 3DS eShops.

Wii U Demo:
Splatoon Global Testfire
Trine Enchanted Edition

Wii U Virtual Console:
Mega Man & Bass
Metal Marines

Wii U Pre-load:
Splatoon

3DS Download Only:
Bloo Kid 2
Johnny Dynamite

3DS Pre-load:
Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Edition (Not sure if this is new, haven't checked the 3DS eShop lately)

It's possible I missed either some 3DS Demo or some DLC.

Edit: and of course the actual PR was released while I was typing that.

No surprise at MM&B being the first game to be released/the winner of the poll.

My guess is next week will be Zero 2, then Battle Network 3, & finally Battle Network 4.

I think I might grab it when it goes on sale since I remember playing it as a kid & even getting all those CDs or whatever, but I don't have much memory of it.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
So, P&DZ+P&D:SMB Edition is the first 3DS game featuring pre-load, it seems.

Seriously no good indie games another MM to go along with the gazillion we already have.

Plus the Spaltoon demo is like 3 random hours for a stress test.

Lame as fuck again this week. :/

Decent week overall, though I admit I was like :/ when I saw the Persona Q sale. High Strangeness and a couple of VC games works for me.

I know someone's going to make a pretty version at some point anyway :þ

Seeing some of the MM&B pics on Miiverse is tempting me to buy it but I'm totally conflicted. I pretty much figure I won't be able to beat it, even as Bass. 10 years ago, I managed to beat it with him but I think it'd be too frustrating for me now.

Wow, what a dumb way to handle the Spkatoon demo.

How is MM & Bass? Is the GBA port good or would I be better off importing the Super Fami cart?

Bloo Kid 2 is is surprisingly charming with great level layout and surprisingly great music. It's a good deal for $4.

Though I know most of you won't give it a second look because it's not a 20+ year old ROM dump for $8.

;)

If you can get the Super Famicom version, play it instead. The GBA version's smaller field of view can make some parts annoying and unfair. But the game is worth playing no matter the version. (Although I don't recommend it to people who aren't used to the Mega Man series.)

I watched the trailer. It looks fun, although definitely some blatant references to some specific games.

Mega Man & Bass is garbage on the GBA. Well maybe that's a bit harsh, but the SNES version is a lot better. Someone explained why earlier in the thread, but basically smaller field of view and its not smooth at all.

At first glance, it kind of reminded me of Super Mario World.
So, I'll probably give it a go.

(I want more 20+ year old ROM dumps >.>)

Kirby, Mario, Ghosts and Goblins are the ones I've noticed so far.

There seems to be Castlevania themed levels as well.

It's still a good game on the GBA, it just can get a little unfair at times. I'd recommend the SFC version above it, obviously, but that's not going to be an option for most people.

hELP me out here GAF:
Do I get PuzzleXDragon digital or wait for a retail copy to go for cheap?
IMHO getting that Kirby 3DS game+PD digital for 50 Pounds is good for me far as 3DS games go.

On the other hand I'm getting an N3DS, or at least hoping of getting one by June or July at the earliest, and while I don't want it to be my main system for digital 3DS games, I could play a retail copy on it....

Bloo Kid 2 is the Gunman Clive of platformers. Game is very addicted if you're a lover of 2d platformers.

Only I completed 3 levels but I want to play more after dinner.

I know you don't have to deal with the bullshit cause you buy the full game, but it's hard for me to get excited about a game I played for free a long time ago on my phone.

I am super hyped for Splatoon. I'm jusy not hyped for a reskin of a years old mobile port.

Quite frankly you all shouldn't be either, and being so encourages more of this not less.

There is too much quality out there in the gaming space across all platforms to accept mediocre reskins.

I'm glad they have preloading for Splatoon and the global test is cool, though I wish the times would be a bit more flexible, like give us the whole weekend, not just 3 1-hour periods that a lot of people will miss. I've been planning to get it digital from the start, so I really hope the SSB DLC costumes will be available for purchase separately.

If a game is fun, it doesn't matter if it's a reskin or most creative game ever.
Completed 7 first stages until now and I don't see all that reskin.

NOA incompetence 101. They apparently delay Yoshi to being a Fall title in the U.S. since they want Splatoon to be their "big" summer game yet they can't be bothered to get a proper demo out. Outside of NOA tweets most people don't care about let alone even see, the "ad campaign" will consist of a single, lame commercial done by the usual morons and hacks at Leo Burnett, the same idiots who made the confusing and stupid Wii U dubstep launch TV spots. These people probably couldn't make a proper ad for Meow Mix if their lives depended on it yet they are still paid to market Nintendo's products in the U.S. The commercial will be aired about once every 3 hours on Nick and Cartoon Network.

Puddle is $1.99? is that any good

It's like $2.50 here in Canada. Any more impressions? Wasn't really interested in it before but that's a killer price.

How is MM & Bass? Is the GBA port good or would I be better off importing the Super Fami cart?

The field of view is really close but the levels aren't changed to accomodate it so there's a ton of blind jumps. On top of that it's a pretty hard game anyway. Never played it as Bass, only Mega Man, so maybe that would make it more tolerable. It's fun though so I'd say I give it a cautious recommend. If you're a devoted fan of the series and never played 8 you might want to try it.

On the upside though the localization on the collectable CDs is so bad as to be amazing.

If I may add, Megaman and Bass's stages were designed to accommodate for Bass' playstyle moreso than Megaman's.

I honestly wouldn't call it "nobody" cares about Splatoon. It was honestly trending worldwide on twitter for about 1-2 hours. So it's "somebody" at least :p.

Btw is it just me or Nintendo's DL revenues from this past quarter (Jan - March 2015) were about the same as the holiday quarter (Oct - Dec 2014)?

Save states should help mitigate it a bit at least. Game's still worth a buy imo.

I hope Metal Marines puts Natsume's comment "Nintendo is moving away from NES and SNES VC" to rest.
Given the game was ESRB rated almost a year ago probably not. SNES games will still release, but those games were decided a long time ago and no additional ones are being licensed now.

Maybe on NXVC we'll finally see Pocky & Rocky and Lufia II...
