If the rumors are accurate, and we do get Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Switch on day one of the Switch's launch...wouldn't those two games alone give the Switch the best launch lineup in video game history?

I mean, Zelda games are usually extremely highly rated, and Breath of the Wild looks to be no exception, and even seems to be taking things to the next level in terms of scope. Super Mario games are also big sellers and very highly rated, and if Super Mario Switch is indeed a spiritual successor to Super Mario 64, it could be looking at very high scores as well.

So, you would basically have two AAA, GOTY type games on day one of launch, along with other titles (Skyrim, Splatoon, etc). What other console has even come close to producing that type of launch lineup?

Yes, presumably so, but - is there any leaker saying both games will hit day one?

The idea about Zelda at launch was brought back because of the supposed info received in advanced by Game Informer. Now I wonder how much truth is in this too.

No it wasnt, she said she spoke to her source at NOA, and then said Switch info will be coming in upcoming gaming mags

Really looking forward to the first Switch-only Zelda game. That hardware could do wonders for Hyrule. Five years out at the very least least.

But hopefully BotW gets some boosted performance, even if only a 1080p bump whilst docked.

I'd be really surprised if we didn't see Zelda for launch at this point. Mario seems like a bigger stretch for launch.
It wouldn't make sense to not have Zelda for launch but it's not impossible.
And Mario being released only 2 months after reveal seems weird.
Though I'd gladly pick both Mario and Zelda at launch.
