Someone figure out how to scan flying creatures? Im assuming they're scannable; I think it's the only feature I have left on this planet

Edit: nm, just took the right angle

Man, still finding neat stuff on this planet. Outpost in the middle of a crater:

EDIT: and YES it has a Stamina Enhancement Theta! Thank god

yes but he already trade it for another ship with no hyperdrive

You should have him check to see if he can get it back by attempting to redeem it again. With some games, you're able to keep redeeming the ship because it's a DLC thing, even after you delete it. It's worth a try.

Starting to get some weird flickering with the panel of my ship, the star isn't getting any bigger but I'm days away from the space station and planet I was at.

Don't really get the obsession with meeting other players since there is no infrastructure to make those meetings interesting in the game other than "oh, neat, it's another guy!" You can't trade with them, you can't join up and do things together or form a guild. Maybe you can fight them?!

Anyway, Hello Games gives you a literal universe full of things and aliens and creatures you've never seen before and you just want to meet up with other people. Typical humans!

I mean... Imagine how much better exploring the universe would be in coop.

I don't blame people who want to keep the dream alive.

Does it do something if you discover 100% of the lifeform on a planet?

This game is overwhelming me a bit. I'm not sure after 5 hours if i've already seen all the game mechanics but i'm not sure either about what is yet to discover. So it feels like a huge time sink to me.

i have to say that i can't stand the super small inventory space.

I am so glad I cleared some backlog for this game.

After 2h20 ( europe ) spend on this game and having reach me 2nd solar system , Yep NMS is the real deal

Started on a radation heavy planet and that made the exploration much more intense than expected .. loved it

Is the game's solution to me getting too far away from the planet clump really to just send ships to kill me?

My copy is at home waiting for me, but I just wanted to say that I am so happy for Sean and everyone at Hello Games.

I can't remember the last time I was schoolboy excited over a video game. This is what I played with all those Lego pieces for when I was little. My mom bought me the Moon Train set and I had so many space adventures.

Now I get to do it again. I am in awe at all of this.

My body has left the Hype Train and shot into Hyperspace. I'm ready.

So uh, I was just wondering what everybody's current impressions of this game are
I'm considering getting it and I really don't want to spend 60 dollars on a game I don't like. I've heard some people say on the internet that it's boring and there's really nothing to do. Is that true?

From what I've seen it's kinda repetitive. It's a great game if you're into exploring stuff though, but it's usually just finding new planets, scanning, getting the planet's resources and upgrading your equipment, then find a new planet. Dnno if it's worth 60 bucks.

I have repaired everything on first planet except I still need to find Heridium for the Pulse engine. Can't seem to find any at all. I have found zinc, platinum and other stuff though.

My planet gets to -80C at night, so can't explore long at times.

Also not sure what the whole Atlas choice is, but I accepted it.

Heh, aside from going to check out a space station, I still haven't left my planet, but I have discovered 29 Gek words and met a few aliens.

Oh good, people are calling NMS the new Spore in that multiplayer thread. I'm surprised it took them 20 pages.

I'm not even sure where the confusion is entirely coming from; didn't Sean Murray say multiple times that the multiplayer is like Journey? As in you flit in and out of other players' instances? So even if someone does inhabit the same space in the universe they're not guaranteed to be on the same server and therefore won't show up?

Is there anyone who hasn't had a crash in this game yet? Feels like most people are reporting one, if not multiple crashes.

Kind of wondering how the Day 1 patch passed Sony's cert, unless Sony has gotten really lax about it. I mean crashes should basically never happen on a console. I only had one or two crashes on the PS3. Never had one on the PS4 so far, but sounds like I will when I start playing NMS tonight.

i Have to ask , how do you unlock more space in your suit .. i'm guessing you need to change / upgrade ship , but how do you do it with your suit ? Do i need to find an upgrade on some planet ? or is there something i'm missing

i hadn't. My 3 friends haven't either

My starting planet was radioactive as fuck and the closest Heridium was 7 minutes away. I just went for it and found a couple of plants along the way that restored my radiation protection.

I've had one so far. Hard lock in the game. Eventually I was able to access the dashboard and shut down the console without having to power cycle it.

After 2 hours I discovered a space station and two other planets. This game is everything I've hoped for so far.

I only wish I didn't click on the multiplayer "scandal" thread. I feel like punching things now...

Havent had a single crash in the 10 hours Ihave played.

landed on a planet that's barren and full of penis shaped mountains. found an alien dude in one of those stations who asked me something. as I'm trying to be diplomatic I agreed to whatever he said. apparently, I promised to marry somebody. :/

This game is really messing with my expectations. Found plenty of velociraptor-type animals that are docile, and then I keep finding deer and squirrels that want to kick the shit out of me

I started on a planet that was full of cthulhu creatures, only eyes and tentacles, absolute nightmare fuel! they all ignored me, could even feed them. found some mantis-looking creature of the size of an actual mantis, shit tried to kill me. had to bomb it with my gun.

maybe I've been playing too much but the game is sort of getting boring

im taking a break and coming back fresh to see what happens

no crashes for me yet

I've played about 7 hours. No crashes.

Spoiling just in case:
I found a few "drop pods" on my starting planet. They're kinda tall conic things, and you can hop up into them and you get an option to purchase an extra slot. IIRC, the first was free, then each following one increases in price by 10k.

So, two things...

Did I make a mistake by not
accepting guidance in the beginning? I see people mention quests and I've yet to get one in the 10 or so hours I've been playing

And does anyone want a preorder code for PS4? I have an extra ship code.

I definitely know how you feel, but I feel like I've kinda gotten a better grip on things by spending more time exploring my starting world.
Check out as many of the "?" icons that show up on your screen, because many of the undiscovered outposts have upgrades to your Exosuit, as well as computer encyclopaedias for learning the alien languages.

ill take it pls

Is there some way to set waypoints?

Hate how I'm exploring a planet and gotta sell stuff to clear space but I can't remember where the last trading interface was.

Okay, so at midnight I started playing. A few minutes, to show the beginning of the game to my fiancée. At 0:30 she went to bed..it's now 2:30 and I could finally stop playing. I've been awake since 6AM so it's quite late for me.
It was a little bit much of "gather resources" for me, but I mixed it up with exploration in my own.

I've had a lot of fun.

How are the visuals?
No uncharted of course, but I enjoy them. Colourful scifi worlds with strange animals.
