How much?
The option that says rename and upload doesn't list how much you get for doing so, whereas the vanilla upload option does.
I think it's the same amount, no?

Sooo...at what point am I supposed to just stop exploring and abandon the initial star system? I feel like I'm finding way too much stuff, but I'm still missing two planets!
I have 800k units, upgraded my suit 6 times, discovered 50+ words and I'm finding duplicates of blueprints quite frequently. Help, I can't stop
How can you say this when most of the worlds are so similar? At least in my case.
Don't redeem the ship until after you complete the tutorial to get the hyperdrive schematics.

multiple galaxies. 18quintillion is all total planets across all galaxiesThe other thread is moving way too quickly to get any answers. People are claiming the 18 quintillion planets is bull shit and that's only the number of possible planets instead odd the number of actual planets. However, it seems they are only considering the initial galaxy we all share?
So is there only 1 galaxy with not that many planets, or multiple galaxies with 18 quintillion total planets, or something else?

Yeah just read the other user's comment on how he renames it with a description to help other if they come by. That's a grea idea. You get money, significant amounts in bulk, for renaming them so I would recommend just doing it.

I certainly think this is the worst preorder "bonus" in gaming history. I tried everything possible to not accept the ship after redeeming it, since I didn't want it in the first place... even before I knew anything about a bug, I just didn't want it. You have to accept it. Then doing so screws your ability to progress!Halle-fucking-lujah! Dodged a bullet so far it seems.
Whether or not it was due to Amazon's incompetence, I got my pre-order ship code after I got the hyperdrive blueprints. Is it that much better than the base ship? Or should I just truck along until I find a more substantial upgrade?
I think I am doing something wrong with units. Only have 600k or so and in third system.
Any tips?
Apparently you can brute force through. Not sure how though. Reddit had some suggestions. I was only 30 minutes in so I just reset.
You should push on. I made this "mistake" - it's not really a mistake obviously - and then realized that you'll find all the same shit on the next planet.
I dunno, I'm starting to feel like the way to play is to scope out a new planet for a bit, and then keep it moving.

You don't miss anything when you leave a planet. All that shit is generated on the fly. None of it exists till you see it. It'll just spawn again for you on another planet.

I like being descriptive in the spirit of the moment.Lol, that's way too complicated.
I just call them 'Quiet Cold Forest' or 'Swampy Jungle'.
It's mainly to help me remember them when I'm looking at my discoveries.
Just go man. Not sure why people have this need to 100% everything right away.
How I play?
1. Go to planet
2. Planet looks like shit? Leave
2b. Planet has some sort of toxic or harmful weather effect? Leave
3. Planet looks cool? Chill for a bit, upgrade some stuff, next star system.
There are 18 quintillion planets. I'm not gonna burn out on this game spending 10 hours on a planet that looks like ass, id barren, and is constantly killing me.

I started the game, chose follow Atlas, looked in the menu and redeemed ship.
Went exploring the planet, fixed the ship in the process, then decided to lift off.
Flew to a space station, had a chat with the guy, don't really remember what about.
Flew out, picked a random planet, landed at the beacon, scan told me to find an alien signal.
Found an alien in a small station, he gave me hyperdrive blueprint.
I would be so damn heated if I had to restart after 8+ hours of progress. Sucks so many people got fucked over because of this damn ship.I certainly think this is the worst preorder "bonus" in gaming history. This is a good lesson for developers of all kinds. I expected bugs and would've even been able to stomach a progress-resetting bug that was just an issue with some of the intended progression. But to have it tied to a preorder bonus which I only acquired out of the desire to play the game as early as possible... and thus lose 8 hours of progress... hoo boy.

The 18 quintillion is the total number. It's divided into galaxies of unknown dimensions of which everyone starts in the first.
Thank you. The other thread is quite rampant with misinformation then.Even if there's 100,000,000 planets thats enough.

Cool! Thanks.
Please keep this shit in the review thread where it belongs.Heh, Jim Sterling posted the first and currently only review, a 50, and now his site is down.

I mined some titanium crystal and they sent an army after me. I swear there weren't that many when I got there. Luckily they don't seem to share information with other Sents on the planet, once you destroy them all the others give no shit about you.So I'm convinced at this point that the Sents have different aggro levels depending on what planet you are on, in addition to their numbers. Some don't give a shit that you mine, some give a little shit (by doing that scanning thing, which is I assume a warning), and some give a hefty shit.
It's a true pain in the ass to find that out by trial and error. Luckily you can dodge them by sitting in your ship or going in a structure (which makes no sense to me, but whatever), but it's annoying if you aren't near those areas.
And apparently, if you do happen to get one of those more aggressive Sents, have fun getting jumped for picking flowers. I took a valuable bulb from plant, and I instantly got shot up to three stars. Whether it was a glitch or because of the plant itself, I dunno, but if it's the latter, that's stupid - you'd have no idea until you collected it.
I feel like certain things in NMS are great but just aren't executed well when put into practice.

i'd say the biggest crit for the game is how apparent the proceeduralness is. i dont like that at every outpost a new one pops up always 2 minutes away. seems a little too predictable. great base game so far, cant wait to see everything that gets added. you know HG has tons of ideas they couldnt implement for day one. hoping this becomes the RL of space-exploration games in terms of support.
theres nothing like jet packing over a crevice and just making it to the other side safely.
