That stupid pre order messed my game up. No hyper drive or antimatter blueprints. Had to start over, and have that constant message to redeem it now, which is fucking annoying.

At the space stations, there should be two paths once you park. One to the left and one to the right.

The one to the left (relative to the direction you're facing when you exit the ship) is the one with the alien and Galactic Trading terminal. The one to the right should require an Atlas Pass v1 to open and should ALWAYS have a terminal to upgrade your exosuit.

This is how large my inventory is at the moment.

Mother of God-

I have AtlasPassV1, time to hit up some space stations. At 700,000+ units almost time for a new ship too.

There's no way to save a location on a planet right? Like if I find a spot like an outpost or something that I want to return to, once I leave I'll probably never be able to find it again?

I think a lot of people on GAF would defend this game to their own death against the slightest criticism, however deserved it is or is not.

Yeah, but that's true with a lot of games. I was in the NMS threads for a long time, and I'll admit even I was getting defensive simply because there were so many people coming in just to shitpost (same types of people that are now in the other threads) either because they irrationally wanted the game to fail or were an xbox fanboy. But I think it's good for fans to look at the game they love critically, because it helps to encourage devs to make the game better. I personally think Hello has lived with their UI for so long that they can't see the flaws. I've seen that happen on many projects, or there's someone in a leadership position who doesn't want their baby touched.

Okay, gotta get back to work so I can play more tonight.

btw, one tip for people complaining about the Sentinels. When you discover a planet, it gives you some data about it, and one of those is a Sentinels rating. One I had last night was "Relaxed". This will clue you in as to how bold you can be with your mining and shooting. You can also see this info on the Discoveries screen when you hover over a planet. I always make sure to look around before I start mining as well. They'll only attack if they see you do it.

The thread on the topic has been derailed so I'll mention it here...

My last hope for multiplayer being implemented today is that during warp, during what feel like a long "load" (in a game that requires no loading), that it is actually doing a MATCHMAKING attempt with another player... and if successful, another player is in your region of space.

We need someone to do a network capture during warp.

So. I wanted to follow the red bubble in the beginning. I got nothing on the radar, no stones, nothing. I'm on my second planet now and I don't have that
Atlas Stone
. How screwed am I?

How do you know if you have the DLC hyperdrive bug? I claimed the DLC ship before completing the third item on the starting checklist. I haven't been able to figure out if I could craft another hyperdrive because I already have one. I don't one to find/buy a ship somewhere and not be able leave the system.

Oh man, I've been on this Moon for like 3+ hours. This game is addicting.

Agreed. Once you get on a good planet, you'll easily spend hours on it. I spent close to 6 hours on my latest planet. Translated 27 words, saw my first alien ruin, made close to a million credits, upgraded my suit three times, and found a ton of spaceship and multitool upgrades.

Ugh, totally missed the Beacon thing by my crashed initial ship for atlas.

Is is still possible to get atlas pass without choosing atlas mode?

So I found
"Specialist Polo" at the Space anomaly
that will give me my atlas pass, but I don't have colonist alien encounters or whatever at level 3.. Any tips on how to get that up? I assume he's talking about my reputation with the Gek?

Fuck Atlas and any other mofo who thinks I need guidance. Ya'll gonna end up as fish food for some other-dimensional being in the center of the galaxy, you know. I make my own path.

I unlocked the pre-order ship straight away, not sure if I have blueprints for a hyper drive but the ship I just bought had one anyway.

Yes. There are a number of ways to get the Atlas pass. I've read about people being given the blueprint from an Alien at an outpost. I found that nothing is really locked out if you choose one path over another, aside from some narrative stuff.

There seem to be multiple ways to achieve whatever goal. Just continue to play the game and investigate any anomalies you find. Atlas will reach out to you..

Nah. You've just got to meet more aliens. Visit space stations and trading posts, then talk to the guys that work there.

I found a cavesystem literally filled with some sort of Pearls that sold for 30.000 each O_o

Hmm any idea where to collect the actual blueprint for a hyperdrive? I guess I dont have that.. not really a problem as I said most if not all ships have a hyperdrive already.

I found those too. They were in little egg things. I interacted with it and it peeled open with the pearl inside. As soon as I grabbed it, sentinals were alerted straight to lvl 3! I barely made it back to my ship. Haha

Yeah, and maybe that'll be the way I'll have to play. I'd just hate to find an awesome crashed ship and not be able to put a hyperdrive in it.

How are people getting so many exosuit / ship inventory spaces?

Plus.... Buy a ship?

I really should pay more attention than exploring for hrs upon end!

Mother fucker. Thanks for this. I thought the ratings were essentially about their number and not their condition, like "Limited". Unless "Relaxed" can replace things like "Limited" in which case I hope the Discoveries tab has more info.

Well, against my better judgement, I just plopped down $80 CDN to play this game.

I should note that this is the first game I've purchased for that price in years, I usually wait but there's just something about this game that has intrigued me since the day it was revealed.

Hope I don't live to regret this.

Do you have antimatter blueprint? That screwed me more. You need it to fuel the drive or you're stuck. Then you need a either buy it, which may not show up for hours or get lucky and it drops somewhere.

My first 10 minutes:
spawn into game
walk a few steps to carbon and start collecting
attacked by 4 sentinels almost die but survive
collect carbon
attacked by 4 more sentinels
leaving carbon alone :)

Yes, I have that one, not sure where I got it from though

I also haven't bothered buying a new ship. I just avoid ship combat when possible (mostly because it is clunky as hell).

Inventory space is king.

I think i took a screenshot but I found an animal that was about 10m tall, huge and looked like a jackal mixed with a stegosaurus. I called it Crazy Humongous Jackalstegasaurus.

I can't believe how they fucked this up with a pre-order bonus.

I'm quite a few hours in, need antimatter which I can't craft because I never got the recipe and the space station doesn't sell it.

Ha, biggest I found was about the size of a Hippo, the ground shook everytime he walked by. I named him Quaker.

You chose explore freely in the beginning? So did I. I have an Atlas Stone in my inventory. I'm not sure how far you are into it, but you'll have another chance with Atlas. Scan systems and check out anything that pops up.

Yeah I have had two chances but I have decided not to take them..

Has there been a downgrade on the scale of life forms on the planets?? In trailers there were huge creatures whereas everything I've seen from the final game seems to be oddly formed smallish animals.

Any get rich schemes? Also this game is overwhelming sometimes. The options to follow Atlas or not is one that any normal guy could miss and click the wrong choice.

Aaron Bleyaert from the Conan show, started on a similar planet. Freezing planet, started next to a cave with iron/plutonium, and some stingy sentinels.

What is an AtlasPass and do I need to worry about getting one yet?

Still in first system, just got hyperdrive so can jump to next system. Haven't been on the 3rd moon in my first starting system yet.

Why do the space feds have to come and fuck shit up even when I'm just trying to fight an angry crab monster. Is there no room for self defense in spacelaw
