this thread is moving pretty fast so I didn't get a reply before.

For the unit milestones, does it count what you have at one instance, or what you've collected over time? Because I have 1.2 mil units and am wanting another ship, but I think I'll just hold out until I hit the 10 star milestone if it counts your units at any given time.

Ha, biggest I found was about the size of a Hippo, the ground shook everytime he walked by. I named him Quaker.

Actually I was wrong. Way off on height but its 4 legs and huge :P

Hmmm. I've changed spaceships, from the initial one to one I found crashed on a planet. But it had some bugs - the phase beam damages my own ship! So I upgraded to another, awesome looking ship (a cross between Slave One and Kylo's ship) - which has the same damn bug! Am I missing something, or is it just a problem with some ships?

No problem with the regular cannon.

QUESTION - I've got a bunch of unique green items eating up inventory space... They're worth a lot of credits, but I just cam't find anyplace where I can select to sell them.

I've only died twice, so far. The first time was my fault. I was in space took a shot at a passing ship. 4 sentinel ships showed up and killed me.

The second time I clipped through the world and drowned in invisible water. What was especially frustrating about that death is I had some valuable items in my inventory that were unrecoverable because I couldn't reach my grave.

Either take a trip off the planet and find the space station, or find an outpost (bigger settlement with a landing pad) that has a trading shop. Sometimes there are trading orbs floating near a small point of interest too.

Game is so much better when you have an objective. Collecting materials for a crashed ship actually led to some decent moments, including forced into a cave that I had to dig myself out of, shoot down some gangly looking creatures, and running into a safe haven that is an outpost.

I still think the mechanics are janky, but at least it was fun enough to take my mind off it for a few seconds.

Ok so home from work trying to figure out if I need to restart because of the hyperdrive pre-order ship glitch. I can seem to craft one in an empty space in ship or exo suit inventory... But every ship I've seen come into this space station so far (checked maybe 10 ships in a row) has a hyperdrive when you click to make an offer and compare. About 4 hours in now with some seriously good luck in planets and stuff... No sure if I should restart :/

Found a planet with no sentinels or wildlife and some decent mining, but crazy hard on life support.

Interested in sticking it out to get some cash but I should really keep moving...

Haven't had the chance to play this yet (waiting for Steam release) but is there any space-trucking to be had in this game? So far I've mostly seen exploring and following the path to the center of the universe but something I quite enjoyed in Elite Dangerous was finding good prices on items and space-truck them to another system to sell for profits etc.
Is there anything like that in NMS?

Also anyone know if the game will have HOTAS support on PC?

Uh, why would you?

You can craft one, they're on ships, what more do you need?

How do you get stats on planets after you've discovered them? That popup when you land that talks about the flora, fauna, weather, sentinels, etc. I can't find where to access that anywhere.

Ah, because I landed at a space station and couldn't get in anywhere without a V1 or V3 Atlas Pass. This system is dog shit. :(

You should just be able to go to the left (relative to where you exit your ship) and the door should just open. The one on the right requires AtlasPass v1.

How do I build a hyperdrive?

I abandoned my old ship on a moon because I found a better one, but I didn't realise it was lacking a hyperdrive before I flew off with it. I don't have any schematic for a hyperdrive and no way to find my old ship. What do I do? I was careful with the pre-order ship and didn't redeem it until I'd passed the tutorial stuff.

Aaron Bleyaert from the Conan show, started on a similar planet. Freezing planet, started next to a cave with iron/plutonium, and some stingy sentinels.

I'm on a red desert planet that is green and gassy at night and yup every time I go to collect i'm attacked. Wipe them out and not much longer until the next patrol is coming around scanning. Not complaining it's making things interesting and they are dropping modules.

Hmm the last bit of what you said seems contradictory, getting the hyperdrive blueprints is part of the tutorial quests.

Still amazing. Probably even moreso today than yesterday. It just grips you, and keeps holding.

These are some features I want the most right now:
- Favorite planets/systems/outposts so you can go back, and or find them again
- Building bases (give it too me now)
- More events that happen in outer space
- More intense situations regarding on planet activites
- the ability to build bases underground/underwater/in the sides of cliffs

Found an Underwater Abandoned building but there was no entrance too it, so was kinda bummed out about that one, and there was a moment where I found an extremely cool boltcaster/mining tool but I didn't have enough credits so I left the planet, went to the space station, went back to the planet and had no clue where I was and had no idea how to find the place where the tool was.

My first 10 minutes:
spawn into game
walk a few steps to carbon and start collecting
attacked by 4 sentinels almost die but survive
collect carbon
attacked by 4 more sentinels
leaving carbon alone :)

My starting planet is pretty harsh too, lol. They roll up on me, I stop, walk a little away whistling, they leave, back to harvesting, lol.

In my experience the right side is always open, but the left requires the atlas pass v1?

Question for gaffers who've got experience:
Does stacking upgrades make a difference? Vertically or horizontally? Also I've gotten various technologies which are named sigma, tau and theta. If I've added one (generally the sigma) what benefit does installing the tau or theta give?

I 100%'d my first planet and replaced my ship with something new and exciting. Along the way, I found a few suit inventory space slot upgrades. NOT BAD.

The new ship:

What is needed to 100% a planet?

Mine is thing says 77% (if the box under waypoint discoveries is it, and I have 2 more '???????' things still, and yet to name creatures or planet.

I have nothing against short people but I'm 6'4" so I'm not used to looking up 1 to 2 feet at people.
Why is this the case in so many first person shooters?

Died twice myself. First time I wanted to see how far I could travel out in space. I ended up passing out while traveling and when I woke up I was in the space station with a icon floating in space marked "Grave". 2nd time was in a underwater cave. Was trying to escape some sentinels and the bastards cornered me and shot me up. The combination of drowning and getting shot to death made me laugh.

so, I can't tell if I'm screwed and have missing blueprints or am I correctly experiencing the lack of having blueprints to craft certain components because they are "rare"....

For the longest time I didn't have supension fluid which is needed for warp fuel

What I'm trying craft currently requires gravitino ball which states it's crafted

How many blueprints does the tutorial give you because I definitely am bugged from the pre-order ship and do not have a warp drive blueprint but luckily my preorder ship and the ship I traded it for after had a warp drive.

I was not aware of this to make me understand how it's bugged (from Eurogamer article linked previously):

Fast-forward several hours later and such a player may find themselves trading their spacecraft for another. If they're not careful, they'll replace their ship with one that doesn't have a hyperdrive

Hmm the last bit of what you said seems contradictory, getting the hyperdrive blueprints is part of the tutorial quests.

This is what I don't understand, I built the hyperdrive for the basic ship (and the fuel that comes after) before redeeming the pre-order ship. But I can't build a new hyperdrive.
