This is what I don't understand, I built the hyperdrive for the basic ship (and the fuel that comes after) before redeeming the pre-order ship. But I can't build a new hyperdrive.
That's really weird, I have no idea how you could have crafted the hyperdrive without the blueprints... man, sorry :(

At the space stations, there should be two paths once you park. One to the left and one to the right.

The one to the left (relative to the direction you're facing when you exit the ship) is the one with the alien and Galactic Trading terminal. The one to the right should require an Atlas Pass v1 to open and should ALWAYS have a terminal to upgrade your exosuit.

This is how large my inventory is at the moment.

I still dont have a Atlas pass. Fuck.

Have you tried clicking through the different tabs when in your in the crafting menu? Maybe it's just not in plain sight.

neither of you specified perspective. lol

I still know nothing of AtlasPass. Hoping having
said no to Atlas
doesn't mean I can't ever get in.

There are only two doors but I was meaning if you face in towards the station rather than outwards.
Without saying too much you'll have many other chances to return to a path that leads towards an Atlas system. It's worth it for the Atlas passes and then if you want to do your own thing, you can.

So, I'm at the first space station, I should do the hyperdrive crafting quest.

Mind you, I don't have the preorder ship , but I could buy a nw ship with hyperdrive now here. Should i go for it, or I need to do that quest?

So how the hell do I make a Warp Drive? The Tool tip at the bottom of the screen disappeared before I could read what it said and it hasn't come back.

It took me about six hours, but two were spent looking for the final ?????? creature. It was an aggressive predator, and big, and I'm frankly glad it was so hard to find. It would've made mining a nightmare were it more abundant.

Hawk, did you restart?
Wow lol man I can see how people get lost in this game.

I don't think I'll ever make it to the center of the universe. I just waste too much time on each planet: I kinda even regret to have left the first galaxy lol.

Well worth the 60 bucks after roughly 10 hours, seeing that this is just the proce for going out for a nice dinner.

So is it better to do the Atlas path?

In my opinion, yes. Just for the Atlas passes alone which will make upgrading far far easier. Once you have the Atlas pass it'll allow you to open more doors in space stations and there are goodies behind those doors. It also adds to the lore and mystery of the galaxy :-)

If trifling with its wishes are my only way, then I will make do.

edit: yay!
Hawk, did you restart?
Yup. Just re-redeemed the stupid ship and about to start making bank for a real upgrade. I want to get back to
Nada
again first though.

Feel like I'm getting lucky compared to some. Beautiful, safe home planet with no trouble finding supplies. Fly to my first planet last night and save. 5 min into it today and the first alien I meet gives me a hyperdrive blue print and in the same room is a kick ass mining gun.
I know the space pirates are watching though.
Edit: But help me understand stacking. I have two of the same thing but they won't go in the same slot and say "2" now. That's what I thought it meant.

Lol this sounds like the clam before the storm

I... I just can't even...

wait what happened?? I thought you said ships you look at do have hyperdrives

They all do... But I can't craft one. I'm like 90% certain I don't have the blueprint so with my crap luck I figure I'll get 60 hours in and want to get some epic ships and none will show up with the hyperdrive and I won't be able to craft one :/.

I was about to restart when then the Atlas path option appeared after a random system jump. There are enough ships to buy with hyperdrives at my credit level that I decided to roll the dice and hope a blueprint drops eventually.

I had some advanced hyperdrive blueprints drop for me. And I'm hoping they're all I'll need.

These are some features I want the most right now:
- Favorite planets/systems/outposts so you can go back, and or find them again
- Building bases (give it too me now)
- More events that happen in outer space
- More intense situations regarding on planet activites
- the ability to build bases underground/underwater/in the sides of cliffs

In terms of features, things I'd like most right now...
- FOV slider, please please please
- controller remapping. putting sprint and jump on same thumb is awkward. ship controls feel off. i'd like the ability to bank the ship with the DS4 gyro instead of buttons
- star system maps. My starting system has 5 planets and it can get confusing
- rear view while in ships, would help in dogfights
- photo mode with no HUD and popups
- those are all basic, but longer term I'd like more varied and sophisticated creature AI. it's a bit simplistic right now, which makes the creatures feel more alike than they should
- I'd also like to see ship pilots actually walk around in the space station for a better sense of immersion

The pirates won't take too much interest in you at the start. Once you have a ship with more slots and you heave around a lot of cargo they'll start targeting you. I store any rare elements i comes across and they've started coming after me. I don't hang around in space if I can help it as they always overwhelm me with numbers and I don't have one of the elements i need to upgrade my shield. I've never died on a planet, but I've been killed 3 times by space pirates :-(

I love this game with all my heart.

But it is now officially the game I have had crash on me the most. I'm gonna guess ten times in as many hours.

Lets get a patch going Hello Games.

I don't know if anyone else encountered this, but I ran into a physics related bug.

I landed on a planet and when I exited my ship I was ragdolled and launched into the air like 3 miles away from where I landed, receiving fall damage. Thankfully I didn't die because the in-game timer said I was 9 minutes away from my ship by foot. What the hell.

Ok has anyone seen the giant worm/snake thing from the trailer? Does anyone think it may have been removed from the game?

So how is the music for you all? For me it's fine but barely there. I've been on 3 planets and a moon, and it's mostly just been a few plinks of a piano here and there. I was hoping for more. Love the rest though.

If you can buy a ship with a hyperdrive you're fine. I can't imagine restarting under your circumstances. Do you even see a single ship in space stations without one? It was all or nothing for me.

You have to understand if you couldn't craft one OR buy a ship, and couldn't find them, you're then stuck in your one single system, game over (until patch)

Interesting, what's the recipe?

You want to know the shitiest thing about the whole pre-order ship bug?

There is no true workaround from all it's issues (at least digitally)

I decided to start a new game (backed up my then current save online) to see how the game played without redeem the ship (which I did pretty early, like within the first 10 minutes) and did see the additional steps to becoming space bound...

Even if you don't redeem the ship, the game CONSTANTLY nags you that you can redeem bonus content in the options menu. To the point which it actually disrupts the tutorial instructions and objectives from displaying...

Thinking of ways around this,
I then thought "Stuff like this is usually enabled by downloading a small file that unlocks the ability to use the stuff" so I go check the related items section of NMS game tile on my PS4, sure enough "Alpha Vector Ship" appears installed under my Addon's...

So I deleted the game and redownloaded it... Now my previous experience with digital games and add-on content is that when I've gone to start the download for the game with owned DLC, upon hitting the download button it would show an additional screen that allows you to request to have addon's owned for that game to be downloaded along side the game itself (so you don't have to do it separately). With No Man's Sky, the additional screen doesn't appear and it downloads preorder bonus automatically (or it's tied to account) Either way there is no way to download the game without the addon ship that would NOT have the constantly nagging "You have bonus content to redeem" message from appearing

PC version will have fov slider. PS4 is unlikely to get one because it struggles to run dense planets even at the fov it has now.

Little strange. Planet stuff is ok, but there was a track that played when I got to a space station that was really out of place. It was like it was trying to get me pumped or something, but there was nothing really going on.

Agreed. Crashes pretty hard. Ive only had it happen once today, but yeah. Happened to me 5 times on Monday.

Huh, ran into my first crash while checking one of the multitool update stations. I reloaded and it crashed at the same point. Guess I won't be using that multitool station. Ah well, probably a duplicate blueprint anyway.

Look out for pirates when leaving atmo! Maybe try and find a terminal on planet before you leave, like at a trading station.

That's my plan. I've filled 7 slots on my 24-slot suit. I need to unload it quick because I ran out of carbon, and my suit's at 25%.

I swear, this gold just keeps going! I found the bottom, but it just keeps going in every direction!
