Finally got comfortable with uninstalling attachments to my multi-tool so I can re-craft them and place them where I want in order to get the synergy bonuses. Now I've got a beastly 14-slot MT kitted out with lots of mining laser upgrades and it just melts everything. Feels so satisfying.
Multitools are where I'm really lacking, I've only found one upgrade so far at all, it's rough

I named my first planet Sevastapol and system Pillar of Autumn. What did you guys?

I am leaving all the naming the same. It seems arrogant and wrong to rename a planet once it already has one.

Though the concept of renaming them and numbering them so I can mark my journey is appealing.

[core name] [what kind of planet] [visit number] - something like that seems serviceable.

You craft Antimatter early on, you don't gather it. You should have a transmission or something telling you to visit an alien who should give you the recipe

Yup. That's how I eventually got mine. I've got a recipe for suspension fluid (for crafting electron vapor) as well so it makes it even easier.

Weird, why does the game cost exactly the same (60€) on pc as on PS4?
Not even AAA games do that, most of the times they/re 10€ cheaper here in Germany.

I don't see it. I'm getting 90 FPS and its very smooth. I'm reading all these doomsday posts and think maybe I'm playing a different game...
What processor do you have? I find that I get great performance when people are going crazy sometimes because I mega oc'd my 3570k.

This is probably a dumb question but, what are the 5 icons under the weapon bar? They don't seem to disappear or anything when i fire.

Okay, ONE more vortex cube run before I hop over to PC.

That's your GTA wanted level. Sentinels

I raid the shit out of everything I can find. Shelters, crashed probes, factories, etc.. Upgrade blueprints galore. Shelters in particular have been a good source. Stuff gets easier when you build bypass chips and use them on those transmission beams to pinpoint shelters & colonial outposts instead of just blindly flying about (though I enjoy that). Putting upgrades next to their component gives you a synergy bonus (a colored outline around them), so that's helpful in making even weak upgrades go farther.

I was lucky and bought an 8-slot that was fairly upgraded well early on, on my first planet (that I stayed on for probably 6 hours lol). Had that until I came across an MT with 12 slots, and then an NPC gave me a 14-slotter as a reward almost immediately after.

Anyone with the photon and phase beam bug bought a new ship yet? Did the bug transfer over? It fucking sucks not being able to do space fights. I really enjoyed it too.

It's basically the opposite for me. So many multitool upgrades, but no suit [inventory] upgrades at all.

Yeah my starter planet was littered with drop pods = exosuit inventory upgrade heaven. I upgraded to maybe 18 or 20 slots before I finally left the planet. I'd say have plenty of inventory slots in your suit was the biggest quality of life improvement for the way I play. Gives me tons of flexibility in terms of crafting things, but also hauling back mass amounts to sell without giving up slots needed for fuel like plutonium.

I've gotten a whole bunch of Drop Pods from those singal towers yeah, just bad luck with multitools. Out of the 5 I've seen in buildings, 4 were actually downgrades or sidegrades, and 1 I couldn't afford at the time. A Vy'keen gave me the only upgrade I've received for making a choice correctly.

I don't mind so much on PS4 though, it's not a priority for me. Will NEED an awesome multitool on PC.
Sentinels are kind of a race - although I'm not deep enough into the story to figure out exactly what happened there.
That seems true actually.

There are almost 200,000 people playing NMS on Steam right now. That's much higher than I would have guessed.

Even ignoring the PS4 version, it's safe to say that the game has been a commercial success.

How did you pay for all the upgrades on one planet?

Also when you go to a new drop pod do you leave orbit to travel faster to a location of interest?

Is there anyway to mark on your map the pod that let's you use a bypass hacking device to find drop pods or should I just farm for those hacking devices by the pod and then go and check out the locations?

You need to enable DSR in the NVidia Control Panel, it's in the 'Manage 3D Settings" menu.

Ah well I will wait til GeDoSaTo can do it.

(I don't think so so Nvidia DSR here I come...)

I am getting pretty good frames. 60 FPS for most part with shadows turn down and a few things maxed. vsync off and max FPS set to 60.

God damn. It's only been out an hour and its the middle of the day in NA

Thats the active player count??

I've been to 2 Atlas Interface stations and I've not gotten a blueprint to craft an AtlasPass yet. I've only received Atlas Stones. Was I supposed to get one the first time?

How do I upgrade my hyperdrive, I havent gotten any blueprints and jumped at least 10 times by now but of course havent gotten very far outside of the black hole jump

Did you get to the Atlas station with the Korvax and Gek? One of them gave me the blueprints after I answered there question with continue on atlas path

It took me ages to get my first upgrade and then they kept on coming. Got a really awesome one from a monolith too.

You get it from Nada, the Space Anomaly.
You can also get it from outposts and places that you find on-planet.

Got my pass at a Space Anomaly (mini Death Star thing) after the first Atlas Interface. I don't know if you can get passes at the interfaces themselves.

Spoilers ahead for the Sentinels.

From what I've read and understand
This is a very rough translation of what was said on one of my final visits to Atlas.

The Atlas created the Sentinels, on one visit the my character stated that the Sentinels wonder around the Atlas, their creator but they seem to have gone rogue.

So yes I think we could call them a race?

From the PC performance thread in case anyone hasn't seen it.

Turn off in-game vsync.
Set the framerate cap to max.
Run in borderless window mode.

People have been saying that doing those things fixes framerate issues and hitching.

Dang some of you guys have cool ships. I waited at the station and trade platforms for a sweet one to show up, got impatient, and bought a fucking flying school bus... color and everything. It had the number of slots i was looking for though. No pics, you dont want to see it anyway :(
