I bought a pretty expensive ship. I didn't redeem the preorder bonus yet. How do I get rid of this annoying preorder bonus alert without losing my new ship ?

anyone found a "heradium depot"? what is it supposed to be? I mean, there are heradium pillars on almost all planets, don't know why there was a marked spot you could fly to (and when I got there, I found aluminium instead).

got the same problem. my theory would be to find a crashed ship I want to fix. but instead of swapping right away, I'm gonna redeem that stupid pre-order dlc and then choose the fixed ship. that should work without screwing up all my progress... I hope.

I've been scouring my starter planet for upgrades. I've got 21 slots in my Exosuit, a 21 slot ship, and a 23 slot multi-tool. I really like the little stories you get when you encounter aliens. Here are some of mine:

* An alien soldier who had just gotten new orders offered me his multi-tool in an attempt to get out of service. I took it, lowering my standing with his race as he was now wanted for desertion.
* I walked into a building to find and alien. Upon speaking to him, I was told that he injected me with something that made me feel woozy, then he threatened another injection of something worse. I was given several options for what to do. I chose to pull rank since I have a great standing with his race. Upon finding out how awesome I am, he was so ashamed at what he had done, he apologized profusely and gave me a jetpack upgrade.
* Another alien I came across was unsure whether to give his blessing to a male that wanted to marry his daughter. I advised him to accept. He thanked me by giving me a piece of the dowry.

I've become worryingly obsessed with finding Knowledge Stones to learn the language and mining Emeril. I need to stop and actually leave the first planet.

How is verticality? Any massive mountains that break cloud lines like everest level? Grand Canyon-like ravines? Worried about ubiquitous hills and basins.

Breaking cloud size I haven't seen yet but the planet I'm on now has very grand Canyon like mountain ranges with deep gorges.

Same here. 'Mine was copper though. Am I missing something?

Geez what a mess that is... How could they not realize they had a problem on their hand. Sigh. Those guys were overworked and just had to ship with some very frustrating bugs. Did they run out of budget ?

I played it for like 2 hours and returned it and will just play starbound instead. Game play isn't good and the planets and life forms just aren't interesting enough to keep me interested.

The more you warp the more varient it becomes. (At least for me). I've warped about 12 times now, have seen some shit.

No. Nothing interacts with each other in this game. Only with the player.

I did shoot a bird creature down from the sky so I could scan it, but then one of the aggressive carnivores on my planet ran up to its body and ate it before I could get there, then it chased me away.

I haven't seen them interact with one another while alive yet, though.

I'm on a planet with no birds and no water and I swear I've been here fucking HOURS trying to find the last species to fill in the final "????????????". I feel like I've looked everywhere, I've walked for hours. I've flew out of the atmosphere and back again to a completely different section of the plant. I've seen every other species multiple times. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips? Is this a bug? Anything will help at this point as I'm too stubborn to fly away after all this time I've spent looking for it.

Sorry for all these questions.

So a few pages ago i was saying i had one more animal to find. But i found one that i hadn't seen before but that wasn't it. And in the journal there still on more entry with ???????

Is there any way to narrow this down, so i can leave the planet. Cause i ain't coming back to this system once i leave it.

As always thanks in advance.

What this person said. I'm in the same situation!

did yours also have a Mayan looking flying platform? looked cool, but there wasn't anything special you could interact with.

I had lame pre-order dlcs that were useless after minutes of playing a game. I had pre-order dlcs that didn't work. but one that could actually break your game is a first, lol!

That's impossible. The space anomolies are the purple marked stations that give you a choice as to which one of three paths (including atlas) you want to take in pursuit of center of the universe.

I glitched out the missions with pre-order glitch, but stumbled upon a hyper drive blueprint through luck, so I guess Ive messed something up. :/

Wow, I don't remember the last time I stayed up all night playing a video game, since I usually don't have free time, but I was up until 8am playing this fucking thing. And me and my wife had to go and do something at 12:30, so I only got about 3 hours of sleep.

Now I'm dead tired, watching Stranger Things while I eat lunch, and I should take a nap, but I just want to play more No Man's Sky. I think I've gone mad.

Same here. But I forced myself to stop at around 1:45am because I work at 8:30... I played 3 days since launch and couldn't stop all 3 times. :/

Before the game was released, I was worried that having too much life in the galaxy would cheapen the experience of exploration.

Right now, I really wish that I didn't have to visit 10 lumps of barren rock for every lush, fertile planet to discover and get lost in.

It should have definitely been half the planets you visit or 60% that'd have some sort of life for the game to be more intriguing.

I've been looking at some of the old media footage of this game (E3 stuff) and after playing the game it's so obvious that all the locations and world in those footage were pre programmed.

I mean every video they showed had a lush planet full of grass, lots of various creatures (including fish and dinosaurs), lots of space ships near the planet (like 10-15), and warping to a new system only took like 3 seconds (this can only happen if most of the parameters are pre set and don't really need to be randomly generated). Even the terrain was perfect as in plain and seamlessly transitioning to a water body (in real game the terrain is very uneven) and there were lots of beacons close together. But in the 7-8 hours I've played 99% of the planets have been barren with little or no foliage, one or two animals here and there and most of them have been hazardous.

Now I always suspected the E3 showings were hand crafted and there is nothing wrong with it because you want to show your game at its best. But the problem is that the kind of experience seen in the E3 videos were what made the game look exciting in the first place. The actual game on the other hand becomes very dull due to the fact that eventhough it does have all of those listed above you never really find it in such a concentrated manner thereby making it less intriguing.

You know that's, uh, how they programmed it right?

Apparently 90% 'barren' planets, 9% 'slightly more lush' planets, 1% 'lush paradise' planets

I've found many lush planets though. So amazing when you find them - and it's not unlike the early trailers when you do (even if they are obviously scripted)

I just found a planet full of Sac Venom(?), they sell for 27k each. I've found a trade center, so I don't even have to go off planet to sell them. I'm banking right now.

re: the lush planet issue, a recent post on Reddit talks about warping to new systems and increasing planet diversity depending on the warp reactor (Sigma/Tau/Theta) type.

In my experience, by default the waypoints to the center, Atlas interference, and black holes only traverse the yellow stars, so by following the path you will only be seeing the lower tier systems. I think it's a way to reward players for venturing off the beaten track, but I'm not certain.

:-/

These are just flying creatures which look exactly like eels. I've tagged them before as a different race/species.

Now that is very interesting. Time to explore this.

That's like the planet I just got on with tons of huge Emeril deposits. Mined them like crazy sold them. Still need tons more cash. Saw some big Gek ship for 8 mil, wtf.

Rarely does a game consume me like this .

It's so fucking relaxing.
Already played 30 hours. Day 1 price already worth it.

I don't know how many hours I've put into it, since I didn't steam last nights massive play session, but I've got to be pushing 15-20 by now. I know there will come a time when I'm "bored" of the game and put it down, but this has been 20 hours well spent. I love this game so much. Warts and all. I already can't wait for the next quality of life update. I'm all for new features, but the things like increasing inventory count mean so much as well.

I can't wait to see No Man's Sky six months from now.

30 hours, 5 galaxies in, not found one yet.

Found this though...

Galaxies right?

I might buy it again when its cheaper. Just didn't see anything interesting and the game play just wasn't compelling.

Not really directing this at you, but the amount of people who are trying to cram as much judgement on the game into two hours as possible... I think Steam should have tiers of 'refund' time. Like small/arcade games get 30 minutes, mid-sized games get 2 hours, large games get 5 hours.

No idea how they would check this...

This game is terrible, I can forgive the graphics and the horrible fov. What I can't forgive is the horrible gameplay. Moving around feels terrible, when you can't "sprint" you're literally just walking. Have fun walking back to your ship.

Different on a planet by planet basis. I had an amazing toxic mushroom-covered planet where you went from large sweeping mountains into cave-ravines that were really, really deep; then had a mineral-covered quiet planet that was very flat. Everything you can think of about a planet varies a lot, man.

I just lost about two hours of play time thanks to a glitch on PS4. I played the game last night for a few hours and I am 100% certain I saved it before I closed the game. I loaded the game this morning and I am back to the previous system I was at on a planet I had previously discovered (it is now saying it's a new planet) with all of my discoveries on that planet wiped. I am so mad. I already lost 6 hours because I had to restart due to the hyperdrive glitch. I've had at least 30 crashes so far which also caused me to lose progress. I can't take it anymore...

I need some help :( spoilering just in case....

Ive been following what I suppose are the main missions, and I just got to the waypoint that led me to a space station to purchase a hyperdrive, cool!

Now I need to build a warp cell to fuel the hyperdrive but I do not have the blueprint to create antimatter which is a required mat for building the fuel... So im stuck....

Oddly enough the waypoint is still pointing to the space station and I'm not sure what to do.

Basically, I need to find a blueprint for antimatter, any ideas where I can get this. Unable to continue without it :(

you get antimatter as a gift from a random alien. i found it by flying around a planet until i got a distress beacon or something and it led to an outpost and an alien gave me one.

still hanging around my first system but man oh man do i love this game. it's so relaxing.

DItto! My first three planets are awesome and easy... well sort of. My third planet totally took me by surprise, it has emeril, chrysonite, and iridium. It has hostile little crab like creatures in groups but nothing too bad to mine those. It was great!

Hmm ok, ill keep looking but eventually im going to need the actual blueprint to be able to make more...

If you are one of the lucky few to not be having issues on PC, that version is a lot of fun. Good FOV and 60fps. Been playing all day, lots of fun.
