Anyone ever activated a portal yet ? I've come across dead ones , but we have seen them working in previous e3 demos. I really feel there are a ton of secrets nobody has found yet , that being one of them .

Ugh. I have a 35 ship right now and I was hoping to be able to find new ships to get me to 48 since buying a 40 slot+ ship is like 30 mil+

Just in case :

1- Find a orange beacon thingy
2- Craft a bunch of bypass chip
3- choose transmission, do it until you get transmission tower.
4- go to the transmission tower and then to the crashed ship
5- hope it has 1 more slot than your current ship then transfer everything
6- repeat until you get your 48 slot ship
7- enjoy not spending ~60m for a 48 m ship.

I spent like 5m for a 28 slot ship and now i got a 35 slot ship without spending a dime. took me like... max 2 hours not even rushing.
Maybe i got lucky because 5 time in a row i found a +1 slot ship

uhhh......... so the game decided not to save even though I keep landing off to saving through my Atlast quests.

I had 8 stones before stopping for a small break. Now I'm at 1 again. Fuck this.

Dont you have to have scanned a certain number of alien life forms to contribute toward getting the pass though?

I don't know. I just explored the different worlds and kept warping to new systems until I unlocked the Atlas Pass right after
visiting my first Atlas Station.

thinking of restarting yet again.

Spoiler Warning
So after I finally got all 10 stones and followed the path of Atlas which in itself is interesting. Got to the last one which just sent me to a blackhole which leads to somewhere else in the starter galaxy.... And now one of my waypoints for warping is set all the way back near the start.

I feel like the atlas path isn't worth taking AT ALL and just ends up leaving waypoints on the galactic map

Though I now can see systems with blackholes. Dunno if that was a thing before or only after Atlas

I think the game is bugged for me. When you access a galactic market interface on a planet, it will list some stats for you such as on foot exploration, words collected, etc. I am many hours into the game, have an upgraded ship, over 12 millioncredits, 4 atlas stones, etc. However, it always says planet zoology scanned equals zero for me. I think this is preventing me from finding the two guys in space that give you the atlas pass.

Found the blueprints for sigma, tau and theta warp reactors. Still missing the omega one. But I think I'll grind for a better ship before I build all of them. Only at 30 slots at the moment.

Thanks for this. Will try this out next

I'm hardly making any progress. I spent an hour farming Emeril, but it's not enough to buy a new ship, and I really don't feel like walking through the same old caves for another hour. I've got dozens of blueprints, but not many free slots in neither my ship, my exosuit nor my multitool. It's frustrating.

Yes but I cannot get inside the building. :(

I've found two buildings underwater that were points of interest from a beacon I activated, that have no doors, and can't be interacted with in any way. And I scanned and know there are resources inside them. Anybody able to get in?

How can I tell in game if i have the day one patch, I'm on PC. When I first started I was asked if I wanted to play the story path or free roam but my inventory feels super small still.

Also can you fly on planets or is there only the one landing spot?

Gotta say, I am liking this game a lot more than I thought I would. My worlds haven't been very varied, and I've yet to do a space battle, but I'm loving exploring.

I do hate how every cave system looks EXACTLY the same though.

if you're going through the effort to farm emeril, just use the dupe cheat, IMO. it will save you lots of time and frustration.

Build my Tau Warp Drive. Can now warp to green stars aka Class E.

5 planets and 1 moon, the moon is a toxic green moon with insane amounts of toxic flora and poison rain.

It also has just groups of 3-5 knowledge stones just sitting right next to each other and those "damaged machinery" things sit around in groups of 2-3.

I have not seen that before.

Need to check the actual planets.

Found a planet littered with void stones and filled with gold, I've made 3 million here so far and I think I may break the game if I stay much longer. This game is pretty good

Ok I hate the launch glitch. Sometimes I will take off to fly in the atmosphere and it will launch me into orbit.

Last time this happened I got killed by hostiles....

NMS pls

Lmao, wait so if you sell the atlas stones you literally can't get the center of the galaxy ending? Or can you get more stones again even if you sell some?

The amount of people that don't get the ending of the Atlas Path is unreal. Try reading what the game tells you. It's really not hard.

Edit: The ending of the Atlas Path is NOT the ending of the game or the Galaxy. It's a totally separate story.

No. There's basically 2 path, either follow Atlas or do whatever you want to.

Huh what about travel to the center? The way the game presents the Galaxy map is you have multiple paths with each tab. I figured each one has a conclusion but the center is the actual "end". Also the game talked about other paths you can follow besides atlas, it was two aliens, I forget their names.

You can spoiler tag the answer, I don't want specifics on the ending just how progression works.

What is the max stack size for items in your inventory?

Before the day 1 patch:
Exosuit Stack Size: 100
Ship Stack Size: 100

After the day 1 patch:
Exosuit Stack Size: 250
Ship Stack Size: 500

does it seem like the flora/fauna density is directly tied to planet size to other people? both super dense planets I've seen were tiny (one was a moon). All giant planets I've been to are sparse to the point of boredom.

I am not sure if that is a bug or a feature actually. I think it happens if you double tap R2 fast (I think, I've been trying to experiment with it). I'm actually hoping it's a feature cause if it is and you can figure out how to do it it would actually be useful when you want to leave the planet rather than waiting for your ship to break atmosphere.

It is super annoying though when you don't mean it (or if it is a bug that you can't control when it happens) cause usually what happens is I was planning on visiting a marker and then I lose track of it. Also, even if it is a feature it apparently is way too easy to do it accidentally.

From my understanding I'm just traveling where they tell me to go and holding on to these stones right?

The bolded part sounds like there might be a better way to farm for units?

Lots of planets have giant mounds of emeril, however it takes forever for not that many units. There are planets that have emeril in the same form as plutonium. This is much faster as it only takes a second to get 100 emeril vs 10 minutes for a mound

The other paths are free roam to the center and using black holes to speed up to the center, and they're basically the same, just that with black holes you may or not reach sooner.

Also the Atlas path is a separate thing to the center, it's like a secondary quest, when you finish it you still have to go to the center.

There is an ending to the Path and it's a good revelation and Gameplay mechanic IMO. People are just sour that they didn't get a trophy or there's no "reward". There is in fact a reward but the reward isn't for you.

It's really cool. Just follow what the player, game and Atlas tell you and you won't be disappointed.

Edit: But yes, keep hold of the Stones until your final (11th) encounter with Atlas.

Edit 2: SPOILERS FOR END OF ATLAS PATH. DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE FINISHED IT OR WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Right, here goes. You sure you still wanna know? Good keep reading then.

You visit the Atlas 10 times. Each time you get a stone and a piece of back story into the different races and where the Sentinels came from etc.

If you keep all 10 stones and visit the Atlas for the last time the Path ends and the Atlas gives you a choice. You can walk away with your stones or you can give the Stones back to the Atlas and it will birth a Star System that another player who's just starting the game will spawn on.

The game tells you that your System has been born on the edge of the galaxy. Sadly you don't get to visit but IMO I think it's cool. Your actions with the Stones give a player their starting planet.

I got stranded on a planet last night.

The game does this weird thing where it will show a giant mining ore (like heridium, or gold) when youre far away, but when you get close to it, it disappears (if you mined it previously).

So I flew up to one, and accidentally landed inside of the place where the ore would have been. BIG MISTAKE. My ship got stuck and blew up. It was my first death.

I then had to comb the planet for repairs. It took me probably an hour before I finally stumbled upon an outpost where i could purchase Zinc to make some repairs. I was also able to call my ship to the helipad using a bypass chip.

I could have reverted to a previous save, but in my head cannon, this was just part of my journey.

Ok thank you. And I should definetly keep the atlas stones then.

So you keep getting a new ship every time until you have the number of slots you want?
