There is an ending to the Path and it's a good revelation and Gameplay mechanic IMO. People are just sour that they didn't get a trophy or there's no "reward". There is in fact a reward but the reward isn't for you.

It's really cool. Just follow what the player, game and Atlas tell you and you won't be disappointed.

Edit: But yes, keep hold of the Stones until your final (11th) encounter with Atlas.

spoilers:

is it basically that the travellers that go through the Atlas past end up creating a star system, and that's how the galaxy was created?

From where I stopped (8th stones) the lore didn't really told me much, but I know about the final reward already.

Don't mind spoilering this for myself because after losing my save atmost at the end of the path I'm not gonna bother redoing it again.

Lots of planets have giant mounds of emeril, however it takes forever for not that many units. There are planets that have emeril in the same form as plutonium. This is much faster as it only takes a second to get 100 emeril vs 10 minutes for a mound

You mean the greenish crystals? I've been farming them. I found several gigantic tunnel networks full of Plutonium crystals and Emeril crystals, although I always had to search for about 2-5min to find some more Emeril crystals.

Reading a couple of pages back... I can't believe people come into this thread to "warn" other players.
Literally saying "guys, guys, stop having fun playing the game. I repeat, do NOT waste your time. The ending is xyz, so there is NO point enjoying the game at all!"

Should be able to sell your ship/multi-tool for units. Leaving behind a 2 million credit ship is dumb. Am I doing this wrong?

Also just got the Warp Drive Tau blueprint, 800 aluminum, fuck me.

So is there seriously no way to remove a waypoint from the galactic map?
I used a black hole while on an Atlas quest and the map still has the waypoint from the other part of the galaxy. It's not like I can get there now.

I've been to some lush paradises but my favorite planet might be just might be this a desolate one. It featured some incredibly striking geography

and these haunting deep green nights

Mild climate but not a speck of life to be found. Gold everywhere. Feels like a prime location for my base.

Here you go. :)

SPOILERS FOR END OF ATLAS PATH. DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE FINISHED IT OR WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Right, here goes. You sure you still wanna know? Good keep reading then.

You visit the Atlas 10 times. Each time you get a stone and a piece of back story into the different races and where the Sentinels came from etc.

If you keep all 10 stones and visit the Atlas for the last time the Path ends and the Atlas gives you a choice. You can walk away with your stones or you can give the Stones back to the Atlas and it will birth a Star System that another player who's just starting the game will spawn on.

The game tells you that your System has been born on the edge of the galaxy. Sadly you don't get to visit but IMO I think it's cool. Your actions with the Stones give a player their starting planet.
I don't get how players don't think this is cool. It's really fucking brilliant I think.

I started this game about 30 minutes ago and I'm confused about what I'm suppose to do and need help. I found minerals to fix my scanner, but I think I need to find parts for my spaceship, however, I'm not sure if that's what I'm suppose to do. I'm at the beginning of the game.

Because it might as well not exist because you can in no way shape or form ever confirm that it actually does this. It's nice to imagine I guess.

Just explore each outpost and gather Mats needed to fix your ship. You should also have an objective in the bottom right of the screen that will tell you what needs to be done.

Hit tab and then look at your ship. It will have a exclamation point on the parts you need to fix. Hover over those and it will tell you what you need in order to fix them.

Some of the pieces are created from your inventory by hitting E in an empty slot. I believe you need Carite Sheets which are made from Iron.

Well the game specifically tells you that's what happens. What evidence do you want more than when your explicitly told that's what happens.

Just in case :

1- Find a orange beacon thingy
2- Craft a bunch of bypass chip
3- choose transmission, do it until you get transmission tower.
4- go to the transmission tower and then to the crashed ship
5- hope it has 1 more slot than your current ship then transfer everything
6- repeat until you get your 48 slot ship
7- enjoy not spending ~60m for a 48 m ship.

I spent like 5m for a 28 slot ship and now i got a 35 slot ship without spending a dime. took me like... max 2 hours not even rushing.
Maybe i got lucky because 5 time in a row i found a +1 slot ship
I've been looking for transmission towers from the bypass chip hacking device for 30 minutes now. I am not getting any transmission towers to pop up. I keep on getting shelter and beacons

So you keep getting a new ship every time until you have the number of slots you want?

Yep. Of course you get some shitty looking ship from time to time but you can do it until you get to 48 slot ( Max ) then you can continue to do it until you get a cool looking ship with the same number of slots.

So what do I do if I
have been selling my stones?

It still makes no sense whatever that my character is lugging around twice as much crap as my spaceship, but whatever

I'm still enjoying exploring but the general bugginess and lack of much to do will probably mean I'll be done within a week. I still call that value for money for the number of hours entertainment I've had out of it

You must be out of luck. Maybe try a different planet? Sometime it can take 5-6 bypass chip but.... Maybe there is just no transmission tower close to your position i guess.

Thanks!

Maye some day I'll try to finish it again. Right now I'm so bummed that I lost my progress of it.

Tbh where I reached
at 8 stones I didn't really get any lore about the races (other than that orb with the 3 races inside it, that was pretty cool), but maybe I didn't get it.

I also got this purple path. Can't remember the name. Should I follow this one or the orange path towards the core for the pass?

Purple path leads you to a Black hole. It supposedly speed up to the center but it can be random, sometimes it may be worht and sometimes not. At the end, both are for the same purpose.

Also, every time you go through a black hole a piece of your ship breaks and you need to repair it.

Has anyone figured out how to get into these buildings with no doors that are under water? I got a notice for a rare item found, but it's in one those building. I tried blowing the whole damn thing up, but nothing.

So if I leave a planet I've discovered, what are the odds of me finding my way back again if I want to revisit it later on?

Man y'all are talking about 45 slot ships, I'm happy I just got my 25 slot ship. I have been upgrading my suit like mad though, up to 32 slots or something.

I just found a warp drive upgrade, got all excited and went to see what it costs to build one... not there in my blueprints. The fuck just happened? I've been hoping for a warp drive upgrade for so long... *sobs*
Also I did get the preorder ship and I only see 'pulse drive' in my engine blueprints. Is that bad?

Ok this is exactly what happened to me: https://youtu.be/5ghUiLiRQFA

Guess I'm not the only one.

If you wait at a space station when you're selling your emeril or gold or whatever, will you find people who will buy it all for 2x price?

OK just discovered what's happening to me. Sometimes the game just doesn't save, even if you manually do it leaving your ship. It actually happened again to me. I could even see how I keep leaving my ship but the reload last save didn't change.

Don't know why but here goes another bug. I don't know what triggers this bug yet but be careful with your saves...

Also just got the Warp Drive Tau blueprint, 800 aluminum, fuck me.

I finally got the materials for the Tau but then I realized that I don't want to farm that shit again the second I get a new ship... I wish there was a way to upgrade ships like the Exo Suit... Not sure I want to upgrade my ship first but even then rebuilding that shit again for 2-3 more slots is still a pain in the ass... Might just say fuck it and rely on a huge Exo Suit... Shit, if only I could put a warp drive on my jetpack!

That's what I'm doing for the moment. Just kitting out my ship with upgrades and a few slots to pick up loot from pirating.

I picked up a downed ship with a Tau reactor. Fortunately it was on a planet with towers of aluminium. Can't find nickel anywhere though...

Also lost all the fuel in my hyperdrive. It doesn't matter much though. Warp Cells are so easy to make.

Use grenades!
Plasma Grenades.
Yep, but I don't like that mechanic. I'd prefer precision gorging and I really thought I could use a laser beam to move terrain. Oh well.
I didn't realise for ages you can toggle between shoot and beam mode with the multi-tool (pressing triangle on ps4). I just thought my top wasn't good enough yet.
I got that too.

Guess I'll just not mine the depths.

EDIT: Thanks for the response though guys.

Nice idea. I am enjoying this game and trying to follow the atlas path and after reading about needing 10 stones is a bummer. Still not got a atlas pass yet its frustrating. Also I need to make sure I am following the ? As I fly I've been. Ignoring them

Man I really hit the jackpot on this planet. It's a rocky planet with no flora or fauna, passive sentinels. I landed at a trading post, and found out this planet is absolutely covered in Vortex Cubes. Like they are everywhere; 4-5 of them every few feet. I load up my invetory with them (20), and go sell them at the trading post for +5% gal. average and make nearly 700,000u every haul. I've made so much money in no time. I've been doing this for a couple hours and have made over 10 million.

Since I was not too far into the game and my wife wanted to learn to play the game, I started a fresh new game. Was having a blast and made great progress on the first planet. I was able to scan half of the required species and discovered about 10 words and other things. All this was on foot since I was looking for materials to fix my ship. I finally found everything I needed to leave the planet. I would say it was about 2.5 hours of foot traveling and was heading back to my ship. During this time, I did not find an outpost to save my game and as I was cresting the top of hill, I could look down and see my ship in clear view and then.....

GAME FUCKING CRASHES!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!

It completely crashed my PS4. After a few minutes I get a error code from the PS4 that something in No Mans Sky caused a crash and to report the problem. I have had crashes in this game already and since I did not find an outpost I could not save. Once I was able to get up and running again, it loads me up like I was starting a new game. FUCK!

I have had crashes in this game already, many of them in fact. In this situation, there was no save points that I could find. Hello Games needs to add a "Save" function. You don't make a fucking game about exploring and have progress wiped because of a crash. In open world games, most devs have a "Save" function or "Auto Saves" etc. As much as I love the game, it does seem like it is a train wreck. Having progress wiped because of crashes is crushing and my wife was about to buy the game for her PS4 because she liked what that game is doing, she said fuck it and said she will wait until they fix the game and it is cheaper. Her hearing me rage after crashes has kind of put a damper on my enjoyment of the game now. I love exploration games and while some people have said it can get tiresome, I love this kind of shit. Too bad Hello Games could not make a game that doesn't fucking crash all the time.

The current planet I'm on has life pods littered around like, 30 seconds apart. I ran out of money and couldn't afford more slot increases. My next one costs 180k.

What do these vortex cubes and gravity(?) balls look like?
I have never seen them and I have seen some obscure shit like Calium and Murrine. Maybe I just ignored them?

I'm watching a guy on YouTube gaming make his way to the centre, I think he's about an hour away from doing it.
Strangely I'm enjoying watching someone else do it rather than try it myself. I guess I'm doing it so I can delete the game from my PS4 and forget about this game once and for all.
