Reaching the core is summed up perfectly by this gif

You're making me nervous now. I'll probably finish it out just to do so, but I have a feeling I should be ready for disappointment.

It certainly changed my opinion of the game. I'd compare it to the TV show Lost.

I loved the journey but the ending actively tarnished my opinion of the whole thing. I will never touch the game again just like I never did a rewatch of Lost.

It's okay though. I spent almost 80 hours or something on the game doing pretty much nothing but playing the game since it was released so I definitely got my money's worth.

Oh man that's what i've heard from personal friends who've finished as well. Not hearing much, if any good opinions from people who have "finished" the game or spent any real time with it. I'm only at maybe 26 hours give or take and i'm toast.

Bungie and Hello Games should have joined forces and together they could have created one amazing game XD lol

Who is openly discussing a spoiler? The ending is shit. That is not a spoiler.

It is a spoiler. Just like saying "you won't believe who dies." The GIF speaks for itself. I am playing the game just for the fun adventure, but it wouldn't hard to spoiler tag ending thoughts.

No it is not. Stop this bullshit outrage spoiler culture. I didn't say what is happening at the end. Basically it is a warning to keep your expectations in check, something that shouldn't be in a spoiler thread.

Sentinels are able to attack - and kill - you while you're interacting with an Monolith? That's just stupid.

They can attack you when your stuck in the cutscene freeze of any interactable object unfortunately.

Hopefully this will be fixed in an update.

I can't believe we are already 18 pages away from OT 2. This thread has moved fast.

I'm totally addicted to this game. I've been playing it non stop. Question:

How do I get more slots on the multi-tool? I haven't really come across anything that sells a better one?

This thread is making me wanting to play the game, the PC performance thread is making me not want to play the game. I'll probably cave in though..

I have it on PC and it runs fine, except after it grinds to a halt when played for so many hours. Just restart the game and it works again.

Am i out of luck in this planet or what ? i have been to 5 or more crash site while following a transmission tower and never have a +1 slot spaceship, always smaller.

No spoilers have been shared. Personal opinions on the ending without giving any details regarding the ending are not spoilers.

The word "spoilers" is subjective. Some people would like to know less than others.

I am not outraged at all. Nonetheless, it's a pointless argument because everyone has different thresholds for what they want to know. Either way, I am not playing this game for the story or ending.

Was making a general statement.

They really need to let you waypoint the system you're currently in. I had wanted to traverse back to a single system behind me but it somehow vanished. None of the pathways traveled toward it. =\

Have we narrowed down on any higher probability of finding starship upgrades? Looks like broken machinery and alien encounters in space stations are currently the best bets...

This i can respect. I'll refrain from asking about/discussing. At some point we'll be able to discuss those things here after it's been experienced by the majority etc. :)
That's exactly correct, but that point is definitely not "4 days after its PC release" :P

Use the discoveries system on the galactic map to find it. Unless the servers are having issues it should work well.

I completely agree though, being able to set a waypoint on your current system would be a great QoL add.

To be honest I wasn't expecting the game to have an ending. I'd be surprised if there's anything more than text stuff at any point.

On the current topic...

Despite avoiding spoilers in a pretty intensive way, I'm pretty sure I've pieced together what happens at the center via things that people have failed to tag and the reactions people have been having to it. If it is what I think it is, I won't be disappointed because I am now expecting it. However, I would have preferred to be surprised, even if that surprise was disappointing.

Just my two cents on how, to some extent, just voicing an opinion about an ending can affect the perceptions of others.

It's different in the later days of a release when "people who would've wanted to see it have seen it by now." It is still very, very early in the release lifetime of this game.
I tried but it just kept highlighting systems that I'd never been to. Super bizarre.. but yeah, possibly a server issue.
Could be borked servers, but those also may have been discovered by other players! Check if they were added to your discoveries page, it'll list the username of who it was if so.

I never really get the tendency towards anticlimax some developers have.

In this case, I'm not sure what would make people happy with the ending. Ending spoilers:
There isn't any major narrative to build a satisfying ending upon. I never expected much from it but I have been following the game closely since its announcement.

End being shit is considered spoilers for some? Like.... How?!

Its an opinion.

I think for some people it's like being told there's a twist in the film, but not being told what it is. Then you spend the whole film looking for the twist. It affects the way people are viewing the game as they're playing it.

But honestly if you've been playing this game for 30 or 40 hours and you're expecting some big revelation then I don't think you've been paying attention.

oh cmon, how hard is it to post anything,,, ANYTHING about ending in the spoiler thread ?
cmon guys, back to topic please..

Am i out of luck in this planet or what ? i have been to 5 or more crash site while following a transmission tower and never have a +1 slot spaceship, always smaller.

anyone ? anything wrong with my game ? i just tried again and its my 7th time finding a crash site and no spaceships have bigger or even +1 inventory than my current ship, always below..

Try a different planet maybe? For me the crashed ships always had exactly one more slot than my current one.

I've seen only 1 crash site. Just go to the space station and check the other ships coming in.

It's random. What you're describing was my experience too, so I just bought a good one when I got enough units.

Just watching some animals on this planet hunting each other. The carnivore took out some prey while I was analysing them.... which was great until it took out the prey and then ran straight for me next.

Regarding both the 'quests' (atlas and galactic core) and 'endings' (of which I've seen only one) - it's not a spoiler to say that they quite clearly built this immense algorithmic tech and then added the quests way, way later just as something to 'do' when they realised that not all players would be happy to be let off the leash to explore indefinitely. It's completely bolted on to the game, and both quests just function as a series of 'jump grinds'. Get warp drive... jump... recharge... repeat. That's the sum total of them.

Add to that the nature of the atlas quest where
the flavour text makes you realise that it's strongly stating that you shouldn't need to follow a path, that you're dumb for doing so, and that you should go explore on your own
and it's pretty clear that the devs would rather not have done that stuff at all.
