YYYYYYYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GIVE UP AND GO DO SOMETHING ELSE FOR AWHILE!
Hey, could I PM you with a couple questions? I aim to write a guide about the AtlasPass tonight and I don't have a v2/v3 yet (v3 apparently will unlock V2 doors, so you're set).
Don't wanna ruin your jubilation, but they essentially do nothing at this point. Or my last 4 hours of opening the doors has produced nothing.
You can't be speaking literally or must mean "nothing of value," right? Because I have scanned and seen many items behind v3 doors I could not access.

This current planet it radioactive, killer sentinels everywhere, killer beasts everywhere, and deadly storms. Can't do anything without something trying to kill me.

I think this is a bad game in a lot of ways but all I want to do is be home so I can play it more. I'm a broken person.

Seriously. I wouldn't say "bad game" but it's broken as hell but fuck me I play 6 hours a day and tell myself I won't but ..repeat

It's so beautiful to look at too.

If your question is just "What were you doing to get v3?", no need to PM me.

Toki767 in this thread said that going to Operation's Centres in Korvax controlled systems was how to get it. It took like 11 Operation's Centres on a Korvax planet, but that's how I got it.

If you have other questions, PM away.

When you jump through black holes, is the number random? I read that you're supposed to jump like 1000 light years or something, but apparently my jump was 95,000... Is that... Normal?

I didn't pay much attention to my first black hole, but I saw the message after my second and confirmed the distance on my galactic map-- it sent me approximately 700,000 light years closer to the center.

Other posters have stated they'd gone over a million, while much, much smaller figures have been given as well.

This last animal on this planet doesn't exist i'm sure of it.

Yep. Had a planet like that where I searched for hours. People kept telling me to look for birds or fish. There was no water on the planet or birds at all. I swear there was no final species, I spent way too much time trying to look for it and gave up.

Whoever it was that posted about stripping crashed ships for parts, I already can't find it but that is brilliant and a true protip. Gonna add it to the tips & tricks post.

I do, thanks!

My Altas path is all discovered by two different players. Makes for 0 funds from discoveries.

Backuplight and Lobolegio. Whoever you are. I secretly hate you.

I have the same problem with this EckyB guy. I constantly see him on the Atlas path. So I usually pick my own stars to get to the next Atlas interface.

Like a stack of 40 carbon, some plutonium..maybe a cargo drop. No Xtra suit upgrades. The rooms look like they could hold another npc.

Also one of the rooms you can see the
dog type sentinels assembly lab.
that's it though so far.

So I must have played at least a good 30 or 40 hours now aaannnndddd what I thought would happen is happening ....

I'm getting tired of doing the same thing over and over but hey I'm gonna take a break and wait a few months maybe they will add a bunch of new stuff and when I get back into the game it will be like rediscovering the game again .

It's still a good game don't get me wrong now and the 30-40 hours I spent with the game was very fun .
I was never really into survival type game so I was expecting this but I thought that maybe being a space explorer would have made a difference but no , anyways I will replay this in a few months and see how it changed

I may be imagining things, but before I got the AtlasPass v2, I could've sworn there were crates that required them around the save point of areas.

Now I never see anything though.

It's just weird that v1 gives you Suspension Fluid but v2 and v3 gives you...access to more Plutonium and Carbon.

It has to be Korvax systems for AtlasPass v2 / v3 ?

AHHHH I seeee

I have no idea if it /HAS/ to be, but that's what Toki said, and it's not like anyone has any better ideas of how to get them, so it was worth trying.

Paid off in just around an hour.

I've straight up gotten completed Warp Cells from v1s before, too.

The barrels around waypoints needing the V1 can give you all of the Warp Cell components including Antimatter as well as occasional Warp Cell outright.

Caves?

I had a planet where the flying creatures only showed up if I trekked up a mountain during the day. Disappeared at night and were hardly seen when at seen level of at all.

After 7 hours of literally mining everything on an extreme weather planet and afking at a trade outpost, my Sol went up! The gold trophy is within my reach.

You got v1 from a outpost in a planet? I thought everyone gets it the first time they enter the space anomaly with Nada and Polo.

Yeah, that's why I am worried if my game is bugged or something lol. Also, I don't remember if I chose the path of the Atlas, but I think I did.

I wouldn't worry about it. Some players may not encounter the pair on the SA for many hours, so there is probably a small chance to get it from certain alien encounters like you did. Do you have some other reason to think your game is bugged in some way?

I've played the game for around 10 hours total, and have a few general question about the game.
  • I've bought a new ship, but my needs are quickly overcoming the capabilities of the ship. How would you all recommend finding a new one? Buying it or repairing a crashed ship? Or is there a 3rd way I'm not aware of?
  • I desperately need a new multi-tool. Seems like these are just luck of the draw though as to when you'll happen to find one hanging on a wall. Is there some pattern I'm missing about what makes new multi-tools easier to find?
  • I've talked to a ton of aliens and visited a ton of places, yet have never found an upgrade to my hyper drive. What am I missing? Jumping one system at a time is taking forever, especially now
  • I'm collecting multiple atlas stones, but they take up a ton of inventory space. Is there any way to keep them without them taking up all my space?

Just wanted to come in here and say I'm happy for you guys!
You're enjoying it and that's what matters. As someone who is not playing the game I don't understand all the people wanting it to fail. That seems to be too bad for them since its selling extremely well. Now I await the XB1 release.
Cheers!

I don't know if this vid in this tweet was posted . But it sums up my feelings towards No Man's Sky. Also it's Hilarious.

I'm so glad I never saw that trailer and was only altered to this game by the online controversy (yes, they sold at least one copy by lying about MP, lol).

That is really, really far from what the actual game turned out to be like. God damn I'd be pissed.

  • Those are the ways. For a substantial slot upgrade you want to save up and buy one. Crashed ships may be worth it if they do represent a significant upgrade (I found one with a warp reactor). You can also strip the tech off a crashed ship for resources.
[*]I desperately need a new multi-tool. Seems like these are just luck of the draw though as to when you'll happen to find one hanging on a wall. Is there some pattern I'm missing about what makes new multi-tools easier to find?
Some alien encounters will result in you getting one for free, but it is luck of the draw indeed. I've had no luck at all finding multitool upgrades despite luck in other areas.

You will either find the blueprints for, or find ship upgrades that have already installed, a warp reactor.

Have you upgraded your exosuit much?

Well, I haven't encountered any Atlas interference yet and on the third system. Besides that, everything is smooth. One thing I hate is missing out on stuff, so hopefully that doesn't happen.

so the ships and guns are procedurally generated too?

I'd assume so, at least on ships. My 1st bought ship was a POS. Boost Engine would pull the camera waaaay back in the cockpit, making it hard to see the world, and it always wants to tilt to the side.

2nd ship is much better, looks more streamlined on the outside, and as such, doesn't get all crazy inside the cockpit. Only "bug" I've found on it, is occasionally on lift off, it will jet up to the top of the atmosphere inside of 2 seconds.
