It's not bugged the way you think it is.

You have to be there in one sitting.

If you leave the planet the counter resets.

Unlike all other milestones, the Sols is not a counter so it won't go up until you've surpassed your current record.
Holy shit. How long do I have to stay? I was on an extreme planet for roughly 5 or more hours and I'm still at zero. And Ive been to like ten other ones for hours a piece.

In space from asteroids. Shoot the ones that are gigantic. They'll usually be copper, iridium, or nickel.

Is there any nickel at all on planets? I can't find nickel asteroids anywhere and I can't seem to find anyone selling nickel either. I guess I can keep jumping but I don't want to leave my current system for the moment, lol.

It's all giant Emeril asteroids round here. I guess I shouldn't complain, but...

Here's a list of things I think would make the game a lot better:

- Exosuit/Ship Upgrades have their own set slots, instead of taking up inventory slots
- Auto-run toggle
- Auto Reload
- Probes that you can launch at planets to get an idea of what's there (we have tech for warp drives, but not drones/probes?)
- Toggle for 3rd person view while in flight (obviously still hide the mysterious figure we play as)
- Map/Tablet to track current planet of what you've explored (even take up an inventory or proposed exosuit upgrade slot)
- Craftable Item to let you save anywhere (1 time use, like a bypass chip)
- Space Freighter/Cruiser use. We see them in space already. Why can't we get a cruiser and launch into planet orbit with our smaller spacecraft

Yeah you can find Nickel on planets. Big rocks, kinda like gold.

I'll have to go check out some caves then. The world is so nice I'm enjoying running around on the surface though. I don't mind a bit of cat and mouse with the Sentinels really, keeps it interesting.

As far as leaving goes I don't mind the dynamic. I know I'll be sorry to say goodbye to this world, but I think that's part of the concept of travelling - moving on. Also, it would be pretty easy make tons of money if you could just keep going back to the rich planets. I think having that choice to stay or leave is an interesting part of the game.

You know what, I really agree with that second paragraph.

There's been multiple times where the collector in me has said 'No, find that last animal.' 'No, visit all planets in a system before leaving.' And this game basically demands that you say 'Whatever's in front of me is more interesting than whatever's behind me. Never look back. Let's go.'

It's the only way to play.

Yep, its dark red coloured i think. I remember landing on a planet with some.

So I did some testing and the ships that dock and leave the space station do not follow those Trade lines you see when in space. In fact, follow one and they'll go close to the planets then continue on forever.

So NPC ships are spawning just outside the space station when inside and are just for pickings outside. They must despawn at some distance when out of player view.

Those lines DO show you the region on the planet where you can find a space port. You can follow them down, and almost always find one.

That's good news if your are looking for ships, since it appears all the ships that dock to the space station also dock at the spaceport. In addition, it appears there's some ships that never dock at the space station that show up (maybe they're supposed to be the ships running the trade route lines between planets)

So, TLDR: follow the lines to the on surface space ports to have better ship and purchasing selection.

No I spent a solid day (as in 24 real hours) farming cubes. That is time wasted doing nothing.

The prices for the high end ships are fucking stupid in this game. If you could get that amount of money in a reasonable time frame by just playing the game I would have done so.

Your choice is farming cubes until your eyes bleed or just take a shortcut and spare yourself some pain.

Yeah I know which route I will take. You get like 30k from selling that shit that you mentioned. You need room for tons of resources so you can't make that many and do you even realize how insignificant 30k is when ships are 60 million?

You seem pretty worked up, lol. Guess I don't really care about getting a maxed out ship asap. Have a good one.

Yeah, I've found nickel in towers like Heridium.

double movespeeds would make this game soooo much better for me

p.s. scumming for crashed ships is the way to go, don't waste hours trying to grind that sweet 200 million to buy a 48 slot ship when you can get it in an easy 2-3 hours by scumming a transmission tower

Nickel takes ages to mine on planets and you don't get much for the time it takes. I'd stick to space.

try sprinting, melee and immediately jetpack boost after that, you will fly around very fast

Are you using the boost dash? Melee + jetpack?

Double move speed would be insane :p

Scumming a transition tower? Can you get one tower to find multiple ships?

Guys, don't forget. The game snoops your inventory and prices ships accordingly.

If you find a ship you want you should move all loot to your suit, deconstruct all ship mods, and wait for the configuration you want to show back up in Port.

I just bought a 42 slot ship for 9 million. With full inventory and cargo compliment it was asking for 24 million.

Seems that's working backwards. Shouldn't you get something for a trade in and cargo?

😀

I've been clawing my way to 1,000,000 units for one of the 23-slot ships. I've only hyper-drive'd twice so far.

Is trading for a better ship the way to go? Or should I keep looking for downed ships in hopes a good one shows up via beacons?

Same for upgrading the ex-suit and multi tool. Is outpost hopping the only way to secure upgrades?

Anyone know what this is or has come across one? I just did now and no idea what it does or how it works. I think this isn't suppose to be in the game? I have no clue.

yeah you just found a portal, but no one knows yet how to activate it. you may want to make note of that.

Save up to try and buy a 30+ slot ship then work up with downed ships.

Ha, yeah, that is funny. The thamium and plutonium needed is like 3 or 4 little asteroids/crystals respectively. It's a great recipe.

It is also nice to see that I am not alone in my feelings on duping.

Barely been able to play this weekend from Boston, but the little bouts of piracy on Vita I've had have been great. Really works well.

Exactly yeah! If I have spare inventory space, I'll make Magmox on the side whenever I can, which is basically anytime because those resources are everywhere.

I tried playing for a while on Vita as well and you're right it controls great.

Well damn I wish I had known this before.

Im so pissed im just seeing this. ive been farming for a min to get a ship and I could just do this. lmao.

It's up to you, 1mil is not much at all once you find a source of cash you like.
Same for upgrading the ex-suit and multi tool. Is outpost hopping the only way to secure upgrades?
Drop pods and the room behind the Atlaspass door in space stations have guaranteed suit upgrades. Multitools yes, either given to you or bought in outposts.

Whoa what?

These kind of mysteries give me goosebumps. Wonder what they'll end up doing!
This is easily one of the best things about this game. That not everything has been discovered yet including some mechanics and how to make use of them. This game will be community driven in terms of discoveries and tips which is absolutely fantastic and any developer's dream I'd imagine.

This is definitely good to know. The ships that are offered when you have an empty one will still all have pre-installed tech?

32 Sols, not counting being in your ship. Going to space will reset it. You can stay in a building.

It's about 8 real time hours.

I know what I'm doing tonight.....time to strip bare and go ship shopping!

lol

I just found a temperant planet with venom sacks all over and a remote galactic market terminal. The sentinels are passive and attack only on every 5th one...

This... is... amazing...

No. They will have some weapon upgrades but no warp drive etc. so you have to spend time farming materials to build them. Or farm money to buy a ship with them installed.

I agree that end game prices need rebalancing where glitching isn't needed for players of the game.

So I encountered a glitch...the most recent planet I landed on already had a discovery rate of 100% even though I discovered the planet and hadn't discovered any of the species on it. Once I did get all eight species, I couldn't upload the 100% completion for units & milestone purposes.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is there a workaround?

After running around for hours on planets to learn languages I just found out that there is a much more easy way, by accident. You can learn a language from NPC... just by talking to them again and again and again. All it takes is come carbone, but if your standing is high enough you'll get carbon for free from them... *sigh*

Now I really feel stupid because of all the time I've spend searching for monoliths.

https://youtu.be/p8dAHEFxHnY

Seriously... is this already known?

I really hope we get a patch soon for PS4. Had four crashes in two hours :-(

Almost always happens during jumping to another system or when I want to rename stuff...
