Just to be clear, (since this game loves to be coy about certain mechanics) there's no way to return to previous planets after hyper driving, other than to hyper drive all the way back? Like, I can't just pick from a menu of previously visited places and return right? Or even put a waypoint to a specific planet in another system?

Just wanna make sure, sorry if it's a dumb question.

You have to pull up the starmap and look for systems you have discoveries on and then warp to that system. No picking from a menu.

Hope they don't go too overboard with the inventory generosity because of all the complaints. Once you invest some time into upgrades it really isn't a concern.

Excited to learn what made it into this patch, though.

No, you can waypoint systems but I'm assuming you know that - you have to make the return trip.

Is the room where your PS4 is hot? Does it have plenty of ventilation?
Kinda... and mostly ;p

Will take care to clean it and see if that helps, but I think its just the game being itself. As I was a useless lump for much of the weekend playing NMS was just about all I could manage effectively, so the long play sessions were probably exacerbating things.

And speaking of bug fix patches, besides the obvious stability improvements there are some quality of life (and some meatier) improvements I'd like to see:

* In the codex of discovered flora and fauna and minerals, I'd like to see details like what bonuses they provide when mined, and the ability to zoom in or out and rotate them.

* A no-HUD toggle for screenshots and/or photomode. And more HUD control in general. I'd love to make the current objective go away, as well as some icons I have little intention of following up on. I've also had problems with multiple overlapping pop-ups in space make navigation a matter of guesswork.

* More stackable items, without glitching.

* The ability to look around the cockpit even when landed.

* The ability to move installed tech to different tiles.

* A mass salvage option when acquiring new ships or multi-tools.

* Quick keys to replenish weapon charge and shields in both the ship and exosuit so you don't need to enter the menu in the heat of combat or in emergencies. Maybe a different set of quick inventory slots just for that purpose.

* The ability to scan for particular resources. Doesn't have to be exact, but should at least provide some direction. As of now if I need a particular item to progress its pure randomness. Some elements are found in particular areas or climates, and that information should be provided in the codex.

* A local system map where you can see all planets, moons, space stations and ships where you could examine their details, and plot courses. On that note, it can be finnicky to reach certain places planetside - sometimes you'll boost right to a target location only to end up 10 minutes away once you get within atmosphere. I've even had the distances grow as I boosted towards them. An auto-pilot to waypoint would allow the game to mix boosting and regular thrust to get you to selected locations while you managed stacks or otherwise futzed around, and without having to hold boost the whole time.

* And maybe a muti-tool mod that allows you to call your ship to you from any distance. It could take resources to use, but it would be handy as hell.

* A fucking speeder-bike or some small land rover, with its own small inventory and slots for mods ;p

* The ability to name and repaint your ship.

OK, I meant only to write a few things but I could honestly do this all day so I'm going to stop now.

* Just two more though: More animal behaviors and change-ups to the planet generation to include tropical zones and polar regions.

Here's hoping Hello Games supports this game with plentiful patches and updates though - there's a foundation here that can be built upon. It'll need more than just quality of life improvements, but they could get there.

16 hours in...just got my first Atlas Pass!

A busted ship still managing to hover somehow!

I've still not got my V1 Pass, I am about to goto 4th system so maybe soon?

Also, still on the starting ship! Not found one, can't afford one!

What's everyone's alien word count? Mine is at 528 right now. Can pretty much understand the Korvek and the Gex. Vy'keen I have no clue lol

Always pick the most asshole-ish response when dealing with the Vy'keen and you're pretty much in good standing with them.

a little late but here you go

Is it bad that all I see when I look at that picture is that barely anything is getting a bonus for being next to something in the same type?

I agree with all your requests - I just Bolded the ones that particularly stood out to me, as they are the ones that I've been hoping for since day one.

I really wish beacon search and crash site markers didn't disappear. Felt like I just wasted a few sessions trying to get to a crash site on the other end of the planet.

Yeah lol. My personal ship is mostly connected though. The endgame ship prices are wildly disproportionate. I don't see how anyone can legit get one through grinding units. i had to use the transmission tower trick myself to get my 48 slot ship

I kind of figured out that the way to get to the center of the galaxy is not actually by going through black holes.

The reason why black holes damage a random part of your ship is to deter you from using that method in the late game.

You should basically have all your warp drives built, which in theory will help you travel for distances longer than where black holes take you to towards the center of the galaxy.

Hopefully they patch in a way to see if anyone else landed on your discovery or scanned your exobiology surveys. Just a name and time stamp would be nice.

I hate cataloguing all these systems knowing I'll never know if one will be visited.

has anyone come across any docile crab creatures? i've found like 10 different species and every single one is keen on fucking my shit up every time i land.

Reposting for a new page. Sorry.

UMMM HALP!!!!!

I just got to the last Atlus station, and when i tried to pick the ending, it wouldn't let me, saying i was one Atlus stone short. ? WTF did i miss something i haven't sold any.

Do you have 10 stones on your exosuit inventory?

Damnnn how are you guys meeting so many aliens!? I've been playing maybe just under 8 hours and have only met 8! Doesn't feel like a good pace seeing your totals, lol
You can learn multiple words from each if you want by tossing them some carbon. There are also knowledge stones scattered on planets.

Man, with Shieldboost Sigma, Tau, and Theta all installed next to each other in the Exosuit, not even the Sentinel metal gears can punch through my shield. Couldn't even get the shield bar down half way.

Oops, totally misread your posts. Thought you guys had *met* that many aliens. Word count makes more sense. Although that is still pretty low for me at about 20, haha.

Just found one of my better looking planets yet. Beautiful flowers and grass everywhere, oceans, spiralling rocks going through the skies and the condition is "monsoon" so it's constantly downpouring. The sound of the rain hitting your ship as you sit inside is amazing. It also has FOURTEEN different species, the most I've seen yet on a planet.

My game seems to not be saving properly anymore, even when it hasn't crashed recently. I've exited my ship 3-4 times and flew to a different planet, and just now when I tried reloading my current save it put me back nearly an hour.

Seems like the patch it's almost done

Edit. Personally, i think the patch will be mostly bug fixes

Maybe not here, but I'd like to switch off chromatic aberration. I've been to some planets where the colors look like theirs trying to cut my screen.

We have got to be able to keep things we've searched for. Something hard to find like the hyperdrives shouldn't be something to weigh when switching ships.

I don't even consider ships that don't already have the same drives. I'll deal with s few less slots in order to not be bogged down with looking for that stuff again.
