Seattle back to their asskicking ways sooner than I had imagined. I guess there is justice in this world.

Come on man......Hawks vs Sonics. SOMEONE HAD TO WIN! But I can't knock you for supporting your team, and since we're both underdogs I'll stop busting your balls and wish Ray Allen (my fantasy team needs him!) a wonderful season. :lol

Lakers got jobbed several times during this game, but not during any times where it would have changed the outcome of the game, really; even that last play with Barry wouldn't have done much-- what, was Kobe gonna drain three 3's in 20 seconds somehow? And that's assuming that SA didn't successfully inbound the ball and just hit a free throw. :p

They didn't win, but who actually expected the Lakers to beat the Spurs? Atleast they got into a position to possibly take it. They actually impressed me with Odom's play and hopefully when they all get healthy and start learning each others games that they'll be pretty darn good.

That's some nice rationalization Lakers fans, but the Spurs have proved through their tenure under Pop' that they absolutely SUCK at stringing wins together at the beginning of a season.

I see the Spurs getting better, and the Lakers worse.

Damn them Jazz...........

2-0 whippin up on the poor Warriors like they were the Lakers or something.... AK-47 with 5 more Blocks and our 3rd string PG is playing better then most team's starters....

Keep it up boys...

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
Anyone see bruce lee bowen plant his feet under kobe trying to take his ankles out? Fuck man I swear refs better start calling that shit. Or else kobe should take it upon himself to beat the shit out of bowen.

It's getting to the point where Bowen could bring a shotgun into the arena, take it out on the bench, Load it...pick it up and carry it on to the court and shoot Lebron in the nuts and there wouldn't be a call.

bruce bowen's been pulling this shit for over a YEAR. this fucking nancy thug needs to step off and realize his place in the NBA world:

nothing spectacular. frankly, i hope a big man who's not hell bent on a career to stardom mows his sorry ass down.

first ray allen, then vince carter, countless others, and now kobe.

WTF was up with Bowen stepping under Kobe on his jumper?

What a dirty motherfucker.

Heh, I noticed that...if he tries that with Vince on the 22nd, there's going to be war. I don't get how a coach or GM hasn't sent in video of this shit, if for no other reason then to warn Bowen not to do it again.

How the fuck do you get injured BEFORE the season???

:lol Lakers really did get jobbed in the second half, but I kept thinking about all the calls that went their way the last five years and was like "fuck 'em". Doesn't make it right though.

Yes, but will you? If Kobe goes then so do you.

Kobe is not a quitter. He won't leave just because he's losing ;)

PS:

FUKKIN DISGUSTING :(

PS2:

Brian Grant is a joke. Can't catch easy passes, can't score, can't defend, can't grab a board. Apparently all he can do is cash a check >_<

PS3:

Cheer up, Lakerfan! The Hawks are next :D

Damn, by the looks of this thread, I wouldn't have known the Rockets played last night. I didn't get a chance to see the game, but I'll try to watch it tonight before the Kings game comes on. 2-2 here we come.

:lol You can hear Snow's ankles crack...

:lol @ Gino's dunk...he punked four players with that one move. Just ridiculous.

Great game by the Spurs. Should have put the finishing touches on the Lakers earlier on though, instead of waiting for them to screw up, roll over and die. It should have never been nowhere near a close game, but I guess that's just typical Spurs.

Another sub-37% shooting game for Kobe. TSC TSC. :D

So when do you guys think his FG% will rise above 40% for the season? I say about 10 games in, myself. ;)

Kobe: Iverson redux :p

I must say that it's been quite gratifying seeing Kobe make some nice passes, only to have them bobbled by guys like Mihm and Cook, or the passes never getting there due to deflections because those guys don't clear as much space for themselves as Shaq did to receive the ball, or the shots contested and missed, as opposed to when he was with Shaq, where all Kobe had to do was deliver the ball in the paint when he drove the lane and it was a guaranteed dunk or three-point play. Now he knows what Jordan felt like never playing with a center/PF who had good hands and good finishing ability (besides Horace Grant, who was good-- nothing like Shaq though). :D Now Chris Mihm and Brian Cook/Grant can take their rightful place alongside such notable inside forces as Luc Longley, Will Purdue, Bill Wennington, Jason Caffey, and Bill Cartwright.

This Laker season is like a dream come true for me so far-- sub-39% shooting for Kobe, him getting bailed out by the refs constantly so as to pad his average (15+ FT's per game? Knob-schlob :p), and all his teammates bobbling his good passes in the paint and getting turned back by shotblockers, depriving Kobe of his assists. Ah, the joys of life. :D Welcome to NOT playing with Shaq, Kobester. Don't say I didn't call it (particularly about the bobbled passes and missed shots by the bigs off Kobe assists, which I've been saying for years now). :p

Now watch him go on a tear averaging like 32/6/6 while shooting 50% from the field and I get owned. :lol

Hey now! Walker's gonna tear shit up when he goes up against Kobe. He'll drop 30 on the Lakers...Only problem is, it'll take him 60 shots. Go Walker! My 7-30 hero.

You don't talk shit about a team the day before they play the Hawks :lol

Heh, true-- but it doesn't really depend on what team they play. The fact is that all teams are gonna key on Kobe and make the other guys beat them. Shaq was great at finishing; these other clowns aren't. They're just gonna throw two defenders at Kobe and make him give the ball up, in which case another guy has to make an outside shot (which they've shown no ability to) or make a lay-up (which they can't do consistently the way Shaq used to). All this-- barring some miracle-- will lead to Kobe shooting < 45% for the season and averaging less than 6 assists, unless they start running more or Odom starts averaging like 20+ (which is possible). As they've quickly learned, teams don't let you run on them in the regular season the way they did in preseason. :D

Oh well, whatever happens I'll enjoy this while it lasts. :lol

My gosh there has been a lot of sweet highlights this week.

Francis's dunk in their first game.
Gino's dunk against the Lakers
Andre Miller getting roofed twice in two games
KG literally catching Melo's shot
Wade bustin Snow to the tenth degree
Lebron hitting a big three to put the Cavs into overtime
Kobe with an insane reverse lay-up
Vince not getting hurt yet. :lol

This is gonna be a great year.

Garnett is crazy. 8-12, 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and there's still 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

It looks like he's added a jump hook to his offensive moves (he's now used it and made baskets with it six times throughout the first 2.5 games of the season)

Insane. o_o

Quick Laker Update

Karl Malone is getting closer to a full recovery from knee surgery and should be physically ready to play in a few weeks. Then it becomes decision time: Come back for a 20th season or retire.

"Karl's still looking at his options," his agent, Dwight Manley, said Friday.

Malone, who averaged 13.2 points and 8.7 rebounds last season, is still believed to be committed to the Lakers if he chooses to play again.

Malone had surgery on his right knee in June to promote blood flow after doctors found a small lesion in the cartilage of his knee. New Jersey guard Jason Kidd, who had similar surgery within a week of Malone, is expected to return early next month.

Forward Slava Medvedenko, hobbled by a bruised heel, could come off the injured list next week and play in Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Center Vlade Divac, however, is not expected to return for at least two more weeks because of a herniated disk in his back.

1 and 1 baby!

They looked very good tonight. They would destroy the original Charlotte Hornets team from 1988. Of course, as Loki could write a thesis on, the NBA is infinitely more athletic than it was then. Perhaps Jordan wouldn't dominate quite as much in today's....just kidding dude.

Thanks Bobcats. I want to see all the Francis apologists go into a full tailspin on the Rockets forum I go to. That should be fun. :D
