I love my PS5 Pro. Mine came with a defective controller but Gamestop replaced it free of charge. It does everything I wanted it to do which is make my existing PS5 games look and run much better.
What was defective?

The controller that came out of the PS5 Pro box. The console was fine but the controller wouldn't charge or turn on so had to take it back to GS for a free replacementWhat was defective?
Lol, untitled goose game, somehow, does not work on PS5 Pro. Can anyone confirm please?
It's oriented left to right on a shelf behind the tv which is wall mounted and well away from the shelf, switch dock is about 6 inches to the right and extension block is about a foot to the left so it should have plenty plenty of breathing space.Stating the obvious, but just make sure its got loads of space to vent. I know my XSX used to get loud one time when I wasn't giving it enough space to expel the hot air away and so was likely sucking a little of it back in. Moved it and it was silent. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Btw that HZD remastered in Pro performance mode is jaw dropping for me. I feel like next gen has finally arrived! Stunning.
Unfortunately I dont have any audio recording kit. The loudest I managed to get mine was with Uncharted 4 unlocked VRR 120hz. But even then I had to go less than a 1m and I'd say more like 0.5m or less away to hear it. Obviously during my testing I had all audio muted and I couldn't hear it all sat 1.9m away. It's oriented left to right on a shelf behind the tv which is wall mounted and well away from the shelf, switch dock is about 6 inches to the right and extension block is about a foot to the left so it should have plenty plenty of breathing space.
Any chance you can do a recording of yours, maybe I'm being over sensitive.
It's whisper quiet at the dashboard with nothing else going on. About as loud as my ps5 was when running a game at 60 fps, and about twice as loud running a game at 120.
It's only air that I can here. I have fitted a fancy elecgear ssd heat sync but cannot see that making that much difference.
I guess it's possible though as it's not pro specific and not exactly a perfect fit.
Reading a lot of these comments about coil whine and fan lottery has led me to a conclusion that Sony has gotten too comfortable/greedy in their own skin now that they are clearly dominating Microsoft in these silly console wars. The only losers are us, the consumers. They are taking us for granted at this point and the only way to change this would be if we vote with our wallets. As for my part, I am not buying another Sony console until they tighten up their QC when it comes to coil whine and fan lottery.
That's not a good idea. They are made to route airflow from the fan. The shape of the original and Pro are different. It's only air that I can here. I have fitted a fancy elecgear ssd heat sync but cannot see that making that much difference.

Its made for the slim model, it's essentially the same I just had to cut a metal tab from the part the sits on the fan. That's not a good idea. They are made to route airflow from the fan. The shape of the original and Pro are different.
That's the part that routes the airflow on the slim version right? Its made for the slim model, it's essentially the same I just had to cut a metal tab from the part the sits on the fan.
I will take it off in a bit as it's over kill anyway, just the part that replaces the ssd cover is enough on its own
That's not even on the list of supported games? Placebo, or does the PS5 Pro enhance games regardless?

The heat bridge as they call it doesn't quite go over the gap between ssd and fan where is does on the slim, so the little tab that's supposed to be screwed in under the additional heat sync doesn't reach. That's the part that routes the airflow on the slim version right?
Whats the difference compared to Pro shape?
Oh I see. I have it here but haven't bothered with it. If it doesn't work I won't even open it and I'll buy the regular version with just the regular heatsink. The additional heat sync screws in perfectly
You already have it lolOh I see. I have it here but haven't bothered with it. If it doesn't work I won't even open it and I'll buy the regular version with just the regular heatsink. Thanks

Heaven forbid you do t be impressed by your pS5 pro. You must surely be trollin! What have you just bought?

But Horizon Remastered is basically Horizon Zero Dawn with Forbidden West graphics so the bolded comments make no sense.DF was talking up Horizon Remastered as the best looking title and most impressive. I bought it based on this since it was a $10 upgrade.
What a mistake. This game looks dated and within the first minute, I experience shadow glitches in the cutscenes. It looks like a PS4 game on a PC emulator where it forces higher resolutions. I don't even like this series so this was a giant waste. Nothing is super impressive about any of it. Horizon 2 looks incredible on the Pro though.
I see. So the bridge that creates airflow is not compatible so the fan attached piece is basically useless.
In the second picture you can see the tab that I had to cut off (Pretty poorly as it was already fitted and I couldn't be bothered to take it all again to trim it down.)
I have the Foxconn fan which I presume is the good one based on the video someone shared in one of the threads here.
I've removed the extra heat sync now, so will see if it's made an improvement. (I doubt it will though)
As I can't buy yet the next game I wanted to play on the pro cause it's not discounted at the moment and I'll wait for black Friday deals to get it (TLOU part 2 - €49), I'm asking if FFVIi remake intergrade is real good and it you recommend it ? It's currently €18 so I may buy it and play it until black Friday. I only want to play the best games (my time available is not much) , so I must be demanding on the quality. Good choice or pass ?
It still fits not perfect though, but yeah if you've not put it in maybe send it back.I see. So the bridge that creates airflow is not compatible so the fan attached piece is basically useless.
I might just wait for a Pro compatible version with the extra piece. I have the original model and it worked well using the fan to increase airflow. Thanks for sharing. Edit. Nevermind. I don't even see the link anymore on Amazon
Ok. Followed your advice. Bought it .Let me put it this way: I'm no JRPG fan and never played a FF game to completion but, I had a good time with FF7Re intergrade last year on my PS5 - for 18 Eurodollars I'd say that it's a steal
Edit : Resident Evil 4 Remake is also on sale - 30 Eurodollars for the whole shebang (main game+Ada DLC)
This may very well be that your old Dualsense is starting to get bad triggers, i swear my one year old Dualsense triggers doesnt feel the same anymore in Astro's Playroom.Has anyone noticed their their new Dual Sense controller feels differently?
I swear that the haptic feedback on the triggers feels better (sharper, for lack of a better word) than my launch OG Dual Sense?
Cannot usually go wrong with ugreen, or anker.I didn't realize the Pro replaces the front USB-A port with a USB-C port, so now my USB hub doesn't work. My 2 rear slots are occupied by an SSD and the PSVR1, so I need to buy a USB-C hub. Any recommendations? Currently looking at UGREEN Revodok USB C Hub, not sure if there's a better one out there.
SH2 is also broken without a patch so definitely waitI finally finished up Metaphor today, so I was excited to unbox the PS5 Pro and play SIlent Hill 2 now that it's listed as being Pro compatible.
Except the patch isn't out yet, so they're basically just lying about it on the storefront. Not a great first experience!
Hopefully it'll just be a few days, though.
