NVIDIA GPU official prices allowed to rise across the board, again!

I got a 4070 on facebook for 350 bucks last fall. I'm getting the itch to get either a 5080 or a 4090. The goal is to get one for MSRP haha. Used.

PCMR will never admit on the hassles of PC gaming ... just save some names wait for the next "well this x game has shitty pc port or bad driver or whatever" take some screenshots and just wait for the next discussion .. it shouldn't be that hard to find the same people crying for drivers and at the same time saying pc gaming has zero inconveniences.

The truth is all forms of gaming has pros and cons. Simple as that.
I don't think anyone bar the most deluded PCMR types think that PC has zero inconveniences. At the same time, the number of inconveniences PC players supposedly suffer often gets blown way out of proportion. I have two or three annoying issues per year on average, others have more, some have less. You get those that like to pretend it's a never ending battle of downloading drivers and tweaking settings, when that is extreme hyperbole. Naturally, consoles have less of these inconveniences by comparison, and the simplicity and ease of use is an absolute advantage for some.

Also let's not forget that console games ship with technical issues and on a closed platform there are a lot less tools to address them.

Seems like the console players "pc costs 3000 dollars to use" meme seems to soon be true.

People saying they will choose amd next.
And are also upping their prices, for whatever reason.

I think its just a case of pc gamers being used to do this things and they dont even notice... its like noticing how many times you scratched your eyes in a day, a lot, but you would probably say "Three". What is a hassle for one guy is the every day mundane zero effort thing for the other. Fact is pc gaming is not plug and play zero tweaking like consoles, I've been to both sides, its not even close. But its not rocket science either.

By the time this happens consoles will be breaking the 1.000 dollars barrier... so everyone is fucked anyway.

Thank God for all our wages keeping up with inflation and the higher cost of goods and services.

And gladly never will be because that is some advantage to PC gaming. Having the option to tweak and not have to swallow stuff like crap IQ, performance and controls...

LOL raise price without much tariff.

and PCMR is still going to eat it up

So its like this, 5060ti +55%=9070 non xt
5060ti+81%=5070ti
What card to buy out of the 3 depends on price u get it at, obviously keep in mind that amd's card has still worse rt performance and ai upscaling vs nvidia's, not by crazy much like previous rdna architectures but still worse, the thing is- u wont wanna sacrifice perfomance for rt features anyways while playing on 5060ti or 9070, 5070ti is strong enough to take advantage of that tho.
TLDR- u wanna get as close to msrp as possible and u will do just fine with any of those 3, likely till end of ps5-ps6 crossgen so around 2030- aka nvidias 70xx family launch.

Yeah and a 3070 does what you expect of a gaming machine...you're so full of shit.
I mean.... Does it not?

when did 3070s become bad cards all of a sudden?
while having to mess around with all the inconveniences and having a shitty experience sometimes with worse performance than a base console. Have at it and enjoy the benefits of that, I guess.
What do you know about PC inconveniences? you hardly use one going by your post history.
I won't deny that PC has inconveniences. I'd just rather not have non-PC gamers like you who don't use the platform and have personal vendettas against it to try and dictate what "inconveniences" we go through. You don't know shit other than what other fanboys will tell you

LMAO

I get all the info straight from the horse's mouth, it's pretty much all you talk about, and what also anyone can see in tons of videos. I have friends who are PC gamers too, you know? lmao these clowns around here...

Reading the posts you willingly made in this thread isn't stalking... You've been making fun of PC the whole thread, anybody would assume you don't use one.

I have friends who are PC gamers too, you know?
yeah right. And the racist has a black friend too.

I'll hold strong. we got problems. You still don't know anything about them. You don't use the platform, and you never will. Hell, even many of the complaints here and on other sites like YT aren't indicative of the full picture.
Don't definitively speak on gaming platforms you have little experience with especially to try and antagonize them. You've been catching shit from everyone in this thread for this exact reason. Or maybe that's just what you want. Time to stop feeding the troll

Moving to AMD when my 4090 is starting to show. Nvidia and their insane greed along with the shit tier release that is the AI powered 5--- series can fuck right off.

Because we don't have a choice?

peasent 30 fps or 60 fps with shitty texture and graphics is not an option ?

Yeah, consoles are cheaper than PC hands down. But the experience between consoles and PC is basically between 1 or 2 generations apart when it comes to graphical details and high frames, depending on the game.

Still, if I want a console experience, I would have a small mini itx pc with 5060 Ti 16 gigs ( just to have multi-frame gen ) and still would be more powerful than the PS5 Pro with not much more expensive ( maybe 500 to 600$ more ?)

On the plus side:
- I will still get cheaper games than consoles ( same game )
- I will not have to pay 100$ per year or whatever the scam these days to play online on PlayStation or Xbox
- I will have a huge library of games and emulators back to the 1970s to play
- I will have more game customization options to unlock higher frames than the consoles will ever reach

Console gaming and PC are not the same market. Even companies like Sony and MS doesnt see the PC as a direct competition to their system. thats why you see Sony games on the PC. but for some reasons the fanboys still wanna pick a fight against PC people when they know they are going to get crushed.

I love console games. I have nothing against it. Getting my Switch 2 day one too. but since I can afford PC gaming and this kind of money isnt really a problem to me ( not saying i am rich, but 2k or 3k every 2 or 3 years to upgrade your whole system is not so bad when you consider you are also selling some of your PC parts to offset some of that cost ).

But let's not kid ourselves. PC is just another level of gaming and experience.

This is true but next gen might bring the gap much closer if we take what has happened between the 4000 and 5000 gpus series... even AMD was able to start catching up. Diminishing returns are coming fast and big jumps might require prohibitive costs. Of course it all depends if SONY is going to also push the envelop on console costs... but I can see a reality were the ps6 pro can get real close to high end pc gaming if priced accordingly. Not equal to PC, thats impossible, but maybe get out of the mid range and finally breach the high end settings, leaving really only the ultra settings on the table when compared.

Pc will still easily win in all the freedom and mods and emulators and fine tuning for higher 120+ fps .. but normal 60fps perfomance and graphically speaking I think next gen will bring things much closer than it has been in the past gens.

AMD doesn't even have anything that matches a 5090. And besides I don't know how AMD does it but in Europe they aren't cheaper than Nvidia.

If prices keep steadily rising, then I might just consider another hobby in the future. I can afford gaming but it just don't feel like it is worth it at times. The way things are going I just might go back to something like archery, renaissance fair, or mountaineering.

Still a few more years to come. The gap isn't big between 4000 and 5000 because they are still on the same node. and still there is a 30% difference between 4090 and 5090.

Next-gen GPUs will most likely go 4nm. If they do that, the performance jump will go back to around 50 60% more.

If anything, it's the console space where I don't expect a big improvement, mainly because they want to keep the cost as low as possible and not hit the 700$ for a base console.

Companies have always had the power to "raise prices". Price RTX 5060 at $1000 whatever, feel free. That doesn't mean demand won't go down. People will buy AMD or Intel, it's their win.

Ehh I just checked bestbuy and they are not that bad right now.

I bought a 2080 for $799 back in the day and a 5080 is $999 today.

The Euro has increased substantially, due to loss in trust in the dollar as a safe currency, and investors, companies and countries switching to safer coins, such as the Euro, the Yuan, the Swiss Franc, etc.
This has been offsetting price increases a bit.
The Euro is not increasing, it is just falling slower than the rest. Central banks are buying metric tons of gold, states are passing laws to make constitutional money legal tender, and even their own gold backed state currencies. The jig is up for fraudulent fiat currency.

4nm to 3nm only nett us a 30% gains on same power target if you look at apple and qualcomm soc

Since nvidia is also stuck with 600w…they cant scale beyond the 30%. Maybe AIB will do 800w dual 12vhpwr 6090 to get that 60% uplift

i consider 30% in power ( personally ) is a good jump every 2 to 3 years.

obviously one would wish for more. but it kinda also keeps the value of your current gpu when you try and resell it.

But assuming that is what we will be getting, what makes you think they can't go 2 12VHPWR ? You did not see debaur video with the rtx 4000 series titan ? It had 2, and that is an FE titan card.

What they did with the 5090 is nothing but an engineering wizardry. to have all this much power in this small form factor.

Nvidia probably wont do 2x12v for their FE just yet, it will make their decision to push single cable looks bad.

Board partners likely will be given the permission to do so for 6000 series. We will go back to 3090 times where board designs matters
