Nvidia has reportedly killed production of all RTX 40 GPUs apart from the 4050 and 4060 as affordable 50-series GPUs could arrive earlier than expect

January. Announced on 6th of Jan at CES live. Launching in Jan. 5070 / 5070 Ti in Feb.

I know that was the rumor a few weeks ago, but several recent rumors suggest it's going to be announced earlier. Nvidia does not have a history of unveiling new GPUs at CES

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
So do you think this will be a "Rage about the Price, then buy anyway" thing?
Guess that depends in your household income. :goog_relieved:

Some will rage, some will buy, some will do both and others won't care.

Everyone is talking about consoles and fps but my main take away are that Nvidia are huge assholes.

Guess I'm sticking with a 3060 for another gen lol

They are. I don't like this company at all. Sadly, they make the best product...

The most concerning point, will be the price.

I think the headline of this article is dumb as fuck

They refer to the lower end tiers of 5000 series as "affordable", relative to the 5090 of course, and that these cards will lower the value proposition of the Ada upper end series...

Well duh. It has almost always been like that EXCEPT for the previous gen where Ada simply scaled price based on how ahead they were on the price fixed Ampere series.

So this article says absolutely nothing. As expected from PCGamer anyway.

No, 5000 series won't return to "affordable" GPUs like older series.

Ada sold like shit, at best it returns closer to Ampere pricing and jump from generation to generation rather than Ada's linear pricing vs performances.
bigggggg maybe.

Makes sense to keep something with GDDR6 memory around for the lower end if GDDR7 which the Blackwell GPUs will use is meaningfully more expensive per GB.

more like zero chance with AI hardware making them muuuuuuuch more money while sharing the same TSMC production resources.
Nvidia literally has no interest in selling, or rather producing a lot of gamer grade GPUs anymore. Even with the massively elevated margins it`s a drop in the bucket compared to their main business. You could even go as far and say that the whole gamer gpu sector has become a mere byproduct of the AI hardware development and is pretty much only kept around for PR reasons.

The 5090s will be amazing for playing Skyrim and Half Life for the 50th time.

Hope they fix all the stuttering on PC games.

This should make the 500,000 games on Steam made by a team of 2 people run like a dream.

Just buy a PS5 Pro instead of wasting your money on this to play indie games.

These might bring the overall average up to the standards of consoles.

Since most of the GPUs used on Steam aren't.

The 5090s will be amazing for playing Skyrim and Half Life for the 50th time.

I was told we can bring anything into any thread. I'm just doing the same.
did your wife cheat on you with a 4090 or something? you seem big mad for no reason

Can somebody explain the logic in "affordable" 50-series cards if they're keeping the low end 4060 and 4050?

The 5060 will still have 8GB of VRAM so it will be worthless. The 12GB 3060 will still be the only affordable card from Nvidia with any value for yet another year.

"aFfOrDabLe" - almost as laughable as people who think AMD are going to get ahead of Nvidia in the GPU space.
Well if that CEOs statement is anything to go by they just might. When the 4090 was accidentally revealed to cost only around 400 dollars to manufacture it's no wonder their margins are totally insane.

If AMD can get an 70/80 class performance at a price at a fraction of what Nvidia is offering I can see them getting a lot of folks onboard.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Affordable is a word. I remember when GPUs were considered expensive at like $300-400. But I have no damn sense, so bring on the 5090 (or 5080 if it's got enough VRAM).

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've read this. They seem to be happy pricing just slightly below nVidia. Maybe there is a deal behind the scenes with the jacket man.

Except it's not the internet saying it, it's AMD themselves saying it.

Here is a link for a PS5 Pro.
What peasant-shit is this?
Who in their right mind would want a machine with such a lame ass old cpu in this day and age?
Can this joke of a machine even do 4K 240hz and path tracing?
(Am I doin' this right?)

Anyone in need of a kidney? Mid to low mileage from a semi athletic body?

I believe it's as affordable as a 5090 would be.
