was it hard to get tickets this year? i'm gonna try my best not to miss out.
nah but it'll be tougher this year at wrigley. i just refreshed on ticketmaster the moment they went on sale and pulled 4 down, pretty decent seats last year. but as big as the event was and there will be a lot fewer seats at wrigley, it's gonna be tough

alright...i'll be furiously hitting f5. fingers crossed.

wow, finally overcame enough frustration to post about tonights game. All I can say is two words 'Opportunity wasted'

Detroit played a hell of a road game in both 3 and 4 and they get rewarded by out working the pens tonight.

Too many no shows on the pens tonight...

Z is going to break the bank on his next contract - he will make Mike Richard's contract look like a bargain.

It's alright, just ask yourself: wwgrd?

Oh well, was still a great run this year. I don't think many of us anticipated a Cup finals appearance. Is disappointing considering they scored first in this game and seemed to have this ship righted. Detroit kept shutting them down though. As for Malkin, I dunno, but after the second boneheaded play, I'd have sat his ass. Gonchar should have been yelling at him in Russian to either get his head out of his ass or get his ass out of the game.

And too bad Dupuis didn't really know how to shoot. With the chances he's had he could almost be leading in goals.

I'll pull for them to make it to 6, but going to 7 seems flat out impossible.

dudes. i'm gonna try to get tix too, since i actually live out here in chicago. we should do a neogaf nhl meetup in chicago that day in wrigleyville :lol

do it at goose island. that place is always empty

Well, that sucked.

But the only thing I can say is this - if there is one single team in the NHL I wouldn't be surprised rattling off 3 straight, it's the Pens.

I could see the Pens winning 3 straight (especially if they insert Lolklin in), but I just CANNOT see Detroit losing 3 straight (2 at home).

Sorry Pens fans. But keep your head up, Edmonton pushed it to 7 games a couple years ago. Anything can happen.

Who would have figured that it would be our offense that would prove to be the problem in this series?

Or do you mean Detroit's overwhelming and awe-inspiring defense?

This is just a case of the Wings shutting down any offense that the Pens have. Look at the Aves and the Stars...they aren't short on offensive talent.

You can complain about "no shows", but in reality they're just another victim of good defense.

I missed the game last night cause i was sleeping, had to work all night Friday and into the afternoon on Saturday Did Cindy cry? Please tell me he cried, the little baby.

this is truth. from what i remember, they were all the gritty rebound type goals. crashing the net and tucking in a rebound. it's the only way to beat em. i think thats why the preds were so successful, because that's how we had to score all year. oh yea and lol hasek

I could say that for Hossa too, especially in game 3. i think he hit another crossbar in game 4 as well, latendresse wants his shtick back

no tears but he did go after zetterberg after the final horn and zetterberg ran away and hid behind his teammates

protip, create your ticketmaster account ahead of time and be careful not to refresh the ticket page more than a few times every 30 seconds. they'll lock you out for 5 minutes or something. tickets usually come up about 6-8 seconds after the set time, use time.gov to sync.

I dunno. The Pens actually had a chance to win this one. A bounce here or there, and this game could be in OT. Game 5 is going to be interesting. Either the Pens will take it laying down, or come out with their hardest effort of the season.

I STILL BELIEVE.

You'll see Sid bent over grabbing his ankles with a big smile on his face as the Pens are collectively driven from behind in Detroit. I'm sure Roberts will lift you guys to new heights though and you'll only lose by 3-4 goals.

Any word on when they'll be on sale this year?

if Wings win I would award Franzen or Zetterberg the MVP
As good as Franzen has been, I think his injury pretty much negates him from being a real contender. But I guess, if he scores another hattrick in game 5.. :)
I hope Zetterberg gets it, he's been outstanding the whole playoffs and is invaluable to them on both offense and defense (escpecially on the PK).
(if the wings win) it's probably between Osgood and Zetterberg. Goalies always seem to be the obvious choice, and Osgood wouldn't be a bad pick, but imo Zetterberg deserves it more this year.

You would be licking Sid's balls and praising how much "heart and grit" he has if he played for your shitty Leafs.

if z wins the smythe my mancrush could reach dangerous levels

my wife was really freaked out when i made her wear a #40 jersey and fake beard during sex last night

i was at a Palace Lockerroom and grabbed a zetterburg jersey last summer for 30 bucks. full authentic sweater and everything, not that iron-on stevie y crap most people end up shelling out 80+ for.

i was psyched. they also had mccarty sweaters for like $15 bucks, and i almost grabbed it but my buddy was like "dude, his days are done in detroit." :lol right. oh well.

I don't praise guys who whine to the refs and dive non stop even if they don't have to. A guy with talent should rise above and play his game not look to the refs to give him 2 man advantages that he can't even score on. Sid's a fraud and now everyone knows it. Cry baby, cry!

Don't hate on Sid, but Michel (not Michael, as the NBC dolts were pronouncing it) and his ranting on the refs is for one reason only - he knows he needs calls to have a chance.

Or he hopes at least one game can be called correctly but hey whatever floats your boat.

:lol Flyers only lost from ref calls. Flyers are the better team... Wah! Wah! Keep on crying buddy. :lol

When did I say that? Go back, quote me. You won't find anything saying that. IN FACT I SAID THE PENGUINS WERE A BETTER TEAM AND THE FLYERS PLAYED LIKE SHIT! I said the refs were terrible both ways. You're an idiot and a hypocrite.

So your meltdown before about how the refs gave penguins half the games and everything weren't saying anything about how the refs were bias? What? :lol

Funny though, you're the one whining about the refs.

Go read it. It was by no means a meltdown about the refs, but the series in general. The Flyers played like shit. I said the refs seemed to be biased, I'll admit to that. However, if you read it again I said the refs gave the Pens game 2, and the Flyers game 4 and that the refs were bad in general, on both sides.

Actually no. It's called being a coach. That's what his job is.

Yeah, I guess when Babcock's eyes were bulging out of his head as he was yelling over the 5 on the 3 last game, he was being a little bitch.

Man, just eliminate the Pens alrerady so I don't have to read this crap...it's been going on too long. I'd rather read Columbus fans on here talking about prospects I haven't even heard of being signed onto entry level contracts. Oh wait, that's probably in the Off-Season thread which I haven't checked since April.
