ATL-goons: How big is the Gwinett rotation? They're in town Tuesday>Friday, wondering whether Teheran will pitch Friday (he pitched an inning Saturday before the game got rained out).

Just fire all the old umpires, hire the good minor league umps and the currently good major league ones who will accept that kind of setup.

Or replace all the umpires with cute female Japanese robots. I don't see why this is a bad idea.

Also no love for the D-Backs who are just 4 back now of both the Giants and the Braves. Not exactly shocking.

Mets have a 1.0% chance of making the playoffs. BELIEVE.

I know. Seems pretty low for a team in first place. They have a lot of games with Mil, and Cin left maybe that's y.

As long as the Mets don't reach 0 I will believe brother!

I know a lot of people here don't like him, but Dave Cameron from USSM/Fangraphs announced over the weekend that he has Leukemia.

For me this is pretty sad news. I don't know Dave on a personal level, but he, along with the other founders of USSM and Jeff Sullivan at LL changed the way I look at baseball, and they gave me places online to discuss baseball and make friends when I was a thousand miles away from home and the Mariners. I personally wish him nothing but the best and hope he comes out of this.

I think Teheran's next turn in the rotation would be thursday or maybe even wedesday since they had a double header on sunday. Minor last pitched on the 21st so his day would probably be Tuesday. Tyler Pastornicky is the starting SS btw.

There shouldn't be a need for some "I didn't like the guy" qualifier, cancer is a terrible terrible thing that any reasonable person would not wish on anyone.

I hope he pulls through it.

I guess because we have like half our schedule left against reds/brewers/reds that they figure we'll suck against them and fall out.

Lames. I've already made plans for Tuesday through Thursday. Though if he pitched on Wednesday, I think Matt Moore is pitching for Durham that day. I'd probably flake out and go watch that game.

The difference for me is intent. Hernandez is incompetent. Davidson is maliciously incompetent. He has never gotten over the union getting rolled in 1999 and has made it his lifes mission to make everyone else hate baseball as much as he does.

The Cardinals have been aggressive in their search for bullpen help and have spoken with the Nationals about their available relievers, major-league sources told FOXSports.com.

Washington has made Todd Coffey available on the trade market. Coffey, who will be a free agent after this season, is 3-1 with a 3.92 ERA in 42 appearances.

Coffey had an ERA under 2.50 near the end of June but has struggled lately, with an 8.10 ERA and .856 OPS over his last 10 outings.

The Nationals would like to keep setup man Tyler Clippard, but it’s believed that he is available in the right deal.

Maybe. Span is too valuable to the Twins now for them to make this trade, I think. The holes they have (relief pitching & middle infield) could have been filled by not trading away JJ Hardy for nothing, and signing a couple relievers instead of Capps & Pavano. Trading away someone from the core of the team seems like a pretty poor idea. I find Espinosa intriguing, but I still think they need Span for 2012 & 2013 until Hicks & Benson are ready.

I will say Angel Hernandez ejecting Steve McMichael from Wrigley for mocking his calls before singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a baseball game. As much as I hate Chicago, that was bullshit. Dude is royalty down there, and Hernandez should've just shrugged it off.

Forgot to mention I spoke with one the other day at the Cask'n after the game. I approach and ask him when does he think Wedge will be canned, he then proceeded to rant. All I made out was "Who the fuck is Cust and Franklin Gutierrez?".

Felt bad.
