Official bitching about Hudson abandoning VC support. [VC/WiiWare = lost cause]

I love it when Segata posts because I get to watch him destroy this man over and over again...

Nice update. Well, it's the bare minimum imo (one Wiiware + 2 VC)

While i'm not interested in Ys, i still wish we had 3 or 4 VC choices like EU is getting as of late.

Uh, I've never played Ys before. Dragona, what's in that game that makes you squeal like a Japanese schoolgirl with no panties on everytime it comes up?

It would seem the excitement has reached the heights of spontaneous diarrhea. Truly a special occasion. Live the moment folks!

lol, i looked up some youtube videos since i only know of the legendary status of this game, and the whole 'running into enemies' thing looks cheap and stupid. i expected some phantasy star-quality type of thing from all the shouting in here.

We already got the only good Mario RPG game that'd ever be downloadable on Virtual Console, Paper Mario, so I can't care about this EU release.

I know this is late, but why no love for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga?

It hurts me. The bravado, that is.

New thread title promised more excitement. I thought the YS in the title was a misspelled YES or something. >_<

But no, it's actually Y's. I hold little love for this series, Super Mario RPG was the bigger announcement last week, imo.

Still! All those that enjoy Y's can be happy. Yes, I mean you both. :p

What the hell is wrong with you? DO NOT EQUATE YS WITH 'BOMB.'
Not "a bomb", "the bomb" as in, "the shit", or "the shiznit" or... I can't think of anymore, I've always found this slang too easily confused with "a bomb". "I didn't know if he was the shit, or plain old shit."

Man, I'm happy I got that 2000 point card last week (in a holiday pack with a classic controller glove on clearance at Wal-Mart for only 15 bucks.) I'll be buying Ys as soon as I get home later. :D

Yeah, I think by far Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga is the best Mario RPG. Even though it didn't take place in the mushroom kingdom, it NAILED the bros mythos and dialogue and had really fun gameplay. I always thought the paper thing was stupid and thousand year door seemed like such a slog to me. Never played Partners in time.

Well, I'd personally say so. I've had a few friends play it semi-recently, and they enjoyed it.

It's definitely a steal at eight bucks.

How intuitive is the combat? With the no "combat" button and the "ramming" gameplay? seems a little off putting to me.

Um, the part you yourself bolded answers this. M&L:SS isn't on the VC, nor has it ever been.

Europe gets 3-4 every 2 weeks, and 1-2 Wiiware games every two weeks alternating. It works out to be roughly the same amount (With the US still coming out slightly ahead).

Oh, come on now... Dragona can't argue with the actual facts, at least with regards to TG sales in North America. Ys, like all North American TG stuff, was "a bomb". It's no reflection on quality, mind you... I buy more TG16 stuff on VC than any other game system.

Actually, Ys 1&2 didn't bomb at all. It was the most popular CD game on the Turbografx, both in the US and Japan. The *system* may have bombed in the US (did quite well in Japan), but of its games, Ys did not. It was so popular that when NEC/Hudson decided to release the Turbo Duo, Ys 1&2 was packed in to try and sell a ton of systems.

I'm actually kind of astonished that we finally got Ys. Still, it's great to see. :D

It's also kind of nice for my anticipation for a VC update to actually be rewarded for once.

In all honesty, I shouldn't really say that since Mega Man came out last week, but I'm saying it anyway.

Well I mean... it says the name of the game in the new title. I'm not sure what else you should be expecting.

In all fairness, it's not hard to read the "YS" in the title as "YES", especially when it's buried in a glut of capital letters.

Ys has even been talked about in recent weeks because it was one of the titles announced a few weeks ago that Nintendo for some reason didn't release on the day the PR specified.

I guess I can see how you could confuse it for 'yes', though.

But anyway, it's all still okay, because you came in looking for an awesome game, and bam - here it is!

I'll definitely buy it, Segata. I'd always heard about Ys and was curious. 8 bucks is a steal.

I used to drool about wanting to play Ys it was so many years ago I don't remember what I was hyped about really... nice to see some hear love it so much... I guess I would feel the same if Bubble Bobble hit VC :D

unless its 500 points I don't think I have enough points got to wait a few days for some checks to clear :(

Bubble Bobble is out on VC, in the US at least.
