Hopfully soon. I love both those games, and will be willing to organize a parade in Nintendo's honor when they are released.

This is one of the better weeks for VC ever. Y's + Samurai Showdown 2 ain't no joke.
 
The only version of Ys I've played is Ark for the PS2, which I enjoyed, so I'm looking forward to seeing Adol's beginnings.

I was excited too until I learned that Ys wasn't Yar's Revenge. :lol

I'm actually surprised how little SMRPG whiners there are here. They must be more of an afternoon crowd.

If SMRPG is next week then I guess people will just have to start whining again about sega games, namely PS, PS IV, and SF 2, but not the good one with Sonic Booms and Hadokens.
 
We really need to get around to reviving the original, Kobuntastic thread title at some point... perhaps when we get Majora's Mask.

P.S. Should I buy Ys? I have a TG16 but no CD unit for it.

Man, I see a thread title change like that and have this slight glimmer of hope that maybe....just maybe they put Earthbound up. Ys is no joke mind you, but I think I died a little again on the inside when I read what was released. Perhaps I should just give up hope.
 
Calm down, I'm downloading YS 1+2 when it hits and taking a half day tomorrow to see if I can beat it! :lol

That story about YS/Yar's Revenge is a true one though, it took place when I was about eight though, and I was a huge Yar's Revenge fan.

It clearly says Ys in the new title, not Earthbound.
 
So, it would seem the Virtual Console is back.

The 3-game weeks are gone, but it seems like Nintendo is starting to bring out the 'big bombs'.

About time.

Yeah, I attribute the mistake to my thread title ADD. All I saw before I clicked were the "-- WHAT? OOOOOO" I did se YS but thought for a couple of seconds it was just a quick mispelling of "YES!"

I know I know, I lose. And believe me, it hurts.

Oh, come on now... Dragona can't argue with the actual facts, at least with regards to TG sales in North America. Ys, like all North American TG stuff, was "a bomb". It's no reflection on quality, mind you... I buy more TG16 stuff on VC than any other game system.

Really, what is there to jinx though? Barring perhaps, the PCE version of Ys III (which is far superior to the SNES version), it isn't like we're determining the fate of all Ys games in NA. We all know if you're an Ys fan, you better somehow get yourself a Windows PC and order directly from Falcom themselves. And, if you don't read Japanese, pray for a fan patch.

I'm more than happy that it's just been released.

We regret to inform you that the scheduled Ys Book I & II will not be released tonight. Instead, we are bringing you the NES classic Deadly Towers, releasing right now.
 
Great update, I'll probably pick up both once I've burned through some more of the backlog.

It's safe to say VC is in a positive streak. 2 game releases has been the consistent number and more shuffling around of the different consoles. Let's hope Nintendo can keep it up till the end of the year.
