The N64 game is called "Mario Golf." That was released in Japan last month so that's what it most likely is.

NOA said:Mario Golf (Nintendo 64, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Mario takes a well-deserved break from his role as the Mushroom Kingdoms busiest hero and returns to the links for some world-class golfing action. Since no one likes to hit the fairways alone, hes brought along a group of friendsboth familiar characters and brand new ones. Choose from 10 different modes of play and six 18-hole courses in a variety of environments for a golfing experience with endless replay value. Add in fun, colorful graphics with a Mario touch (a Boo indicates wind direction), intuitive controls, incredibly deep game play and multiplayer support (taunt your opponents), and you have a game anyone will enjoyeven if youve never played a round of golf. Fore!

Mario's Super Picross is all I want, heck with help from the Wii Homebrew thread, I even changed my Shop Channel region to but it off the UK VC Shop. Sadly, that is one of the very few games that is still region locked despite homebrew.AzureJericho said:I'd be happy with Sonic & Knuckles & Super Mario AllStars, but Nintendo's vision and mine hardly ever coincide in regards to the VC.![]()

My guesses are Kirby's Dreamland 3, and Super Mario Kart.

You know, if it was all up to NOA I'd say they're probably waiting until November 2014 or so, when they can sabotage it by releasing it when interest in VC is dead due to a run of 43 bad single-game weeks, Super Wii being in full swing with its retail library, the DS 2 Lite being on its way, and the holiday rush in full effect to kill people's wallets with retail games. Can't have Earthbound selling well, after all, because then they'd lose face for having shunned it for so long.JSnake said:hey jiggy, do you think EB will ever come? Late reply, but... Yes, and I completely agree.Yaweee said:VC games 'save state' whenever you exit via the home menu, right? Ogre Battle is just begging for that feature.
WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO WIIWARE GAMES AND ONE VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAME ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL
Nov. 10, 2008
Are you hungry? Think of this week's Wii Shop Channel lineup as a lively menu that aims to satisfy every appetite. You'll find a food-themed game to tempt your tummy, a challenging brain game to please your noggin and a classic sci-fi action title to fuel your imagination. Whatever the recipe, you're sure to come back for seconds-and thirds, and fourths, and beyond.
Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:
WiiWare
Brain Challenge (Gameloft, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Just like your body, your brain needs to be exercised to stay in shape. Boost your brain and relieve stress through various minigames in a personal session to get a detailed evaluation. Challenge your friends' brains in delirious party games to see who is the smartest. Test your brain's abilities in Visual, Memory, Logic, Math and Focus minigames. Compare yourself with friends by challenging their brains in three multiplayer modes. Develop your resistance to stressful situations that could happen in real life. Use a customized Mii character to create personal sessions. Choose your favorite personal coach. Track your overall performance with detailed statistics and graphs. The special Kid Test and Senior Test modes will gather everyone around the game.
Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam (Virtual Toys, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone-Animated Blood, Comic Mischief, 1,000 Wii Points): Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam is a frenetically active cooking game in which you must serve food to your customers as quickly as possible. This could be a simple task, but the customers aren't very patient, and you'll find a multitude of annoying insects that make the noble mission of satisfying your small gourmets' stomachs much more difficult. In the game's Career Mode, your goal is to become the best chef in the city. To do so, you have to prove your worth by cooking in four fantastic restaurants: the Hot Dog, Hamburger, Pizza and Mexican Restaurant. Enjoy playing Yummy Yummy with your family, serving delicious food to the most surprising characters: vampires, ninjas, extraterrestrials and mafia thugs. Put on your chef's hat, sharpen your knives and turn up the heat.
Virtual Console
Mega Man 3 (NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points): In the year 200X, the notorious Dr. Wily, now reformed and working for the forces of good, works hand-in-hand with Dr. Light to build a new type of peacekeeping robot. When a new set of eight Robot Masters escapes the lab to wreak havoc on the world at large, only Mega Man can save the day. This time, Mega Man must rely on his new slide move and canine companion Rush to conquer the stages and vanquish evil. A new character, Proto Man, adds to the mystery and appeal of this seminal title in the famous action-game series.

two things. First, emulation is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS lacking on those compilations. There hasn't been a single genesis compilation released yet that hasn't had some sort of emulation issues.Lost Fragment said:Should probably wait for that Genesis collection to come out next year instead of getting Phantasy Star on the VC. Right, one bad week somehow discounts the fact that we've gotten fuck awesome games almost every week for the last month and a half :lolCheez-It said:Man, after Art Style titles and World of Goo, I was expecting a massive WiiWare season. Fucking awful week.
At least Mega Man 3 is finally here!
borghe said:two things. First, emulation is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS lacking on those compilations. There hasn't been a single genesis compilation released yet that hasn't had some sort of emulation issues.
second, HD is shit on these games as it always uses some sort of filtering to hit it (obviously the games are nowhere near HD). For people who want the games displayed as they originally were, VC is the only option. Until these developers releasing these collections give us perfect emulation and the ability to output the native resolution on every game, it's pointless coming into the VC thread and recommending them as that's the only thing everyone in here is interested in.
It's only like 2-3 steps away from recommending one of those emulation collections to someone hunting down the original cartridges for the game. those collections just aren't nearly the same as playing it as it was originally meant to be played, at least visually and audibly.
well, let's face facts. In most cases, by today's standards these aren't the most amazing of games. Yes games like SoR hold up beautifully, but often if not always you can find a modern day equivalent that is just as "fun and shiny" as these classic collections. So it has to be asked, who are these releases targeting? If they are basically targeting the emulation casuals who already are downloading all of the Good packs and playing a game for 15 minutes before moving on to the next game, then sure. They are a great value. But if they're targeting people who either want to go back and play these games again, or people who want to see what the deal was on these games, you'd assume both of these camps would want the most authentic way available to them.Lost Fragment said:I'd venture to say that for some people, getting 40 games for $30 instead of spending $8 a pop on them on the VC would trump pretty much every possible issue aside from Sonic randomly goatseing you in Sonic 3, but I guess I'm not hardcore enough.
H-have you read this thread before?RedBoot said:Single game weeks suck, but I can't see anyone having a problem with this one.
I already have it portable on PSP, so I'm not sure I'd even buy PSIV if it released--but I still want to see it on VC simply so that other people can play it.Lost Fragment said:Should probably wait for that Genesis collection to come out next year instead of getting Phantasy Star on the VC.

Which is of course what I was saying. If emulation to you is a fun distraction where you can play these games for 15-20 minutes each and get your 10 hours of entertainment from the disc, sure, it's a great value. But 99% of the people in this thread are here because they recognize the VC as pretty much the authority in classic console emulation. I was specifically saying coming into THIS THREAD and spouting off about some second rate collection hardly seems logical. The VC has outlasted plenty of other compilations and XBLA ports simply because its fans want exactly what it is providing, and what no other services/ports have provided yet. Native resolution output. Unfiltered (on everything except TG-16). Superior control. Perfect emulation. Third party software.
I can't believe they didn't even throw in a SMS game just for kicks.Ranger X said:What a week of fail.
Can't they upload at least 2 virtual console games damnit??
