Milan's Australian goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac took the brunt of the blame after this past weekends comprehensive 5 – 0 loss to Chelsea, and though the player believes that some fault is his, he is not willing to assume sole responsibility for the game.

Spider, as he is affectionately known, has admitted to making the mistake that lead to the third goal saying, “I went for the ball with my left, preferring my right and I made a mistake. That kind of thing has never happened to me.”

Kalac spread out the blame for the other four goals when he said, “Mistakes happen, thats football,” continuing with, “Besides that mistake what else could I have done, nothing.” Surely after letting in five goals in one game, albeit a pre-season friendly, Ancelotti must be feeling the heat to give Christian Abbiati the number one jersey this season.

When questioned regarding his fellow goalkeeper at Milan Kalac said, “He is doing better then me at the moment, but I'm not afraid of the competition, I'm just concentrated on training and making saves.”

Kalac concluded with a final comment, “It wouldn't be fair to judge me based solely on the game in Moscow.” The goalkeeper has a point - no one is infallible - but one cannot help but wonder many mistakes Christian Abbiati would have made in his place.

:lol
The only mistake that happened was letting him play.

Any player than wins our best player of preseason turns out shite. :lol

Voronin was great in preseason last year and you can keep going back and looking at who won those awards and they ended up being proper shit.

Oh and his name is pronounced En-gog (like cog)

He doesn't seem to composed of himself at times and just snatches at the ball, I still think Nemeth is our best young striker.

Oh and Ranger's first team getting completely destroyed by Liverpool Reserves didn't help their confidence going into their CL qualifier. I know it was 4-0 but other than that we dominated play, when I was watching it I was wondering why on earth Rangers set up the friendly.

Where do you think you'll finish next season Blah, realistically?

Man I love DirecTV, my contract expired in June and they just offered my another HD-DVR for free, and Premier for a year for $94, no HD access fee, no extra receiver fee, and no DVR fee to renew.
You can find some sick deals w/ DTV. I've argued some pretty ridiculous stuff and gotten fees reduced in the past.

He was bought for more money, Hughes like him, why would we sell (at least for the sum being mentioned)?
TBH is making a lot of money to be a "depth" purchase, especially since Frank hasn't knuckled down and started throwing crooked owner money around. (i.e. Buying players on installment plans.)

There is a backlog at right-back with TBH's purchase as well. He, Richards and Onuoha can all play there and City aren't going to be playing enough matches this season to really justify having that much depth on the back four. (The UEFA Cup is still ours!) He can play DMF, and they need to find a long-term solution for Didi, but you don't really want to follow a player like him up with someone not playing their preferred position. He can play CB too, but again we run into the backlog problem AND the fact he never impressed at that position last season.

As for the fee, remember only a portion of his transfer has been paid. Even though it's "wrong," selling him for the same amount would give them money in the short term. It's also more than they could ever get for selling Onuoha and the financial workings of the club are still somewhat shadowy so that does matter.

BTW Cedeo, the thread you linked about this the other day is 40+ pages now. :lol

:lol Yeah, that's what usually happens, but hopefully not this year because I think Pacheco's probably been the best. 17 and just so skillful, hopefully he'll be the real deal.

I gave my predictions at the start of the thread, page one.

I'll more than likely change these predictions when various transfers have been made.

1. Manchester United
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Arsenal
5. Portsmouth

[But] I can easily see it changing though.

Scolari's Chelsea may not click. Ronaldo might leave. Torres might break his leg on the first game of the season. Arsenal's lack of replacing Flamini, improving their defence and the possible loss of mercenary Adebayor could harm them. I see Portsmouth improving more than Spurs who might have a new decent goalkeeper but lack a defence and other than Modric a midfield.

Just a reminder that Wes offered to compile the Premiership tables and see who's closest at the end of the season if you guys want to predict it again this year, but I think you need to do the entire table rather than just a top 5.

Wait, aren't there 2 legs in CL qualifiers?

I remember that Werder had to qualify by playing 2 legs against Zagreb.

Last season wasn't that bad, all we need to do is not repeat our home form as in the first half of last season.

My main concern is will our source of goals be predictable like last season, only Gerrard and Torres ever looked like scoring and it showed against higher quality opposition if we can find goals outside of that we can probably go all the way if not we'll probably score in the 70's again.

Well you need to concentrate on the league fully rather than come to February and realize you have more chance in the CL and start resting players for mid-week games, you need to play Torres in every-game and stop rotating. You have a set good players and two great ones, there is no reason why you can't push for more. Just do all this after we take your record ok?

Perhaps Keane will help out with the scoring as well. Personally, I'm really curious to see how N'gog progresses at Liverpool.

Also, I really wish Arsenal would make a big name signing. I was hoping that we'd go for David Villa, but now it seems like those Tottenham scum are giving chase.

When was the last time Arsenal got a big name?

They make them, they don't buy them.

That's true, but I'm personally frustrated with Arsenal looking like sellers club. I'd like for maybe once, we'd bring in a big name player that seems interested in staying.

Houston 1 - 1 NE in the 2nd half. Jaqua scored first for NE and Ralston equalized. It's tape-delayed on TeleFutura here on the West Side, so I guess I won't be watching.

Oh wait, it actually isn't tape delayed here. Just a faulty guide listing on DTV. About 20 minutes left, still tied at 1-1.

Good job, too many people are just ignoring the damn issues with China, it really is like 36 Olympics. Police state, check. Crazy leaders, check. Radical bases, check. Mass killings to keep the people oppressed, check. Hatred for another race and religion, check. Invasion of other territories, check.

Nah dude I get that you're taking the piss a lot of the time. (Now at least.) I was just taking the piss there too. Too many jokers, too much confusion!

I was also hoping that people would think I went too far in the OP so that the topic won't come up much and shit up the thread (it's a bit late to do much about them hosting). I like to call it the "dude that's not cool" strategy.

Houston just has NE's number. Who else will scream if the MLS Cup is Houston v. NE again.

Me. If it's not Chivas it's not a Championship!

We're on to penalties. Should be fun as I really don't care about either of these teams.

In other news, the people running the SuperLiga got so fed up with the CONCACRAP refereeing so far that they flew in Howard Webb for the match. :lol
