I didn't think much about it at first cos I've had shorts like that but the slits on his are up really high :lol

I was first sure they were damaged in some tackle, but he still have them, 20 minutes in. He can't be serious wearing those all season. :lol

...sorry if this has been asked or it's already been posted, but is there a predictions thread this year??
not a predictions thread as such, but we'll have a prediction league on Guardian Pick The Score. It's just a lot easier that way, and you'll also get email reminders to pick your scores every week, which is handy.

Details to follow shortly (maybe Monday or Tuesday), Cornballer will also update the OP to reflect this.

In MLS play today, Toronto and the Rapids are scoreless in the first half, that game is on FSC. The Fire go to New England in a very important Eastern conference game at 7:30, and Chivas plays the Wizards at 8.

another trophy won.

Only Van Persie and Wenger stayed behind to collect it though, the plane with the rest of the players has already taken off.

Van Persie looked pissed off the whole day. Sitting around, yawning, playing with the Arsenal photographers camera. I wonder how excited he'll look when he's lifting the trophy. I wouldn't be surprised if he yawned there too, or tackled the presenter.

Toronto up 1-0. Need Colorado to lose this one to give San Jose a chance to crawl out of the cellar.

Coach Mangod changed up the Rapids lineup, it must not be helping if they're losing to Toronto at home.

went to watch the toon vs Valencia today. Pretty encouraging performace. Gutierez is looking really good. Guthrie was decent too. Best bit of the match was a six year old boy boy retrieving the ball, looked T the Valencia keeper who was coming to collect it off him, then booted it in the oposite direction and then running off.

The silver kit doesn't look half as bad in real life by the way.

And it's over. Now Colorado has to lose to Kansas City and SJ has to beat New England to be level at 21 points. Doesn't seem very likely :/

Liverpool Football Club have today released the following press statement.
Liverpool FC Chief Executive Rick Parry said: "There has been a lot of comment today regarding our position with regards to Gareth Barry.

"This is not about questioning the Manager's judgement or the ability of a particular player. The owners have clearly demonstrated throughout the year they are willing to back Rafa in the transfer market and will continue to do so.

"It is obviously the selling club's prerogative to put whatever price they want on the player, but on this occasion Liverpool think the price quoted is too high."

Oh for fuck sake.

I have no idea why he would release a statement at all, nothing positive can come from it. It's not going to get you in a stronger negotiation position.

The only thing coming will be ridicule from everywhere and media speculation about how the club is being managed and how much money is actually available.

It's just so unprofessional, I'm stunned.

edit: oh - welcome back Blablurn!

What, no comment on yet another winning goal from Voronin yesterday? 9 minutes on the field and ball is there where it should be. Thats would be like, let me do the math, 10 goals if he would play 90min!

Bow to the power of the Voronator!

another trophy won.
Did Inter and Arsenal ever play each other?

Plus I've never seen a statement like that released by a club, strange. Lakitu, is it true some liverpool fans are pissed off because some were singing Kean-o yesterday?

I hope we end up in last place, maybe at that point we'll finally see the mangod Clavagina gone.

So, the Fire came from behind to beat the Revs 2-1.
Revs against the Fire: 0-3-0
Revs against everyone else: 10-4-3
Pretty crazy. The Fire now move into second place in the east.

Also, poor QVT, Chivas are getting stomped again.

Yeah. I only asked two weeks ago! Only seen her once in that time! That's my excuse. And stop trying to blame the Georgia troubles on me.
When you have sons of your own someday you will thank me Wes. Tough love is tough, but necessary.

But beware, we wont lose again, not with Ka-Pa-Ro:)
We will score more than once with Petrov (who is missing the UEFA Cup match on Thursday unfortunately) and Vlad Weiss demolishing you on the wings! No one can withstand the great Slavic Pincer Maneuver.

The equaliser was one of the best finishes I saw last season, better than Murphy's strike imo, which made it even more annoying.

Also, if the Ireland thing is true, what's the point? We have two (three incl. Diouf) right wingers, about a million central midfielders and half a dozen who can play on the left. Much rather nick one of your strikers or a defender if this money problem you lot seem to have is true...
Can you pay more than 7 million for Corluka? I don't like him anymore now that I heard he was in London today talking about moving to Spurs. (I THOUGHT YOU LIKED MANCHESTER AND THE FANS, CHARLIE.)

You can have Bianchi for a couple of million too if you want. It's his fault we're in this mess. (OK not really but still I need a fall guy.)

P.S. Holy smokes a Black Cat fan!

Today's the first Round of the German DFB-Pokal. Bayern is going to play against Erfurt; a team from the 3rd league. I got a very bad feeling :(

Big win today. Looking at NE and Chicago's remaining schedules, I have to say things are looking favorable for nabbing the Supporters Shield now. This is all in spite of Denis Hamlett who demonstrated yet again he has no idea what to do with the amazing talent he has. Yes we're 9-5-5 and sitting 2nd in the table, but I'm not crazy when I say Hamlett needs to go if we're to stand any chance when the games really start to matter.

But whatev's. Won't get too sour. We sweep NE. Conde is the shit. Segares is the shit. This new kid Pappa is turning some heads and has played his way into the starting lineup in only 2 weeks (he's just 20 y/o too).

BRING ON DC!

Hey. Don't overlook Columbus, or we'll come back to bite you in the ass
...as long as Rogers and Ekpo come home soon, everyone stops getting hurt, and Sigi doesn't just decide to play for the tie over and over.

Michael "Mangina" Johnson if that story is to be believed. He's a good fit at Arsenal. Good passing and touch. Soft. Injury prone. Has a bad attitude and will be sold to Chelsea for a lot of money. Etc.
