I think it has more to do to the fact Indiana Jones has always been patriotic-free. I don't remember a single flag waving scene in the other movies, or characters talking about how great America is etc etc, and the third one had an American as villain. So I'm not saying it's annoying or something, it's just that Indy never showed such cheesy stuff. Then again, I'm not bothered

I dont know about that patriotness your talking about....I believe those are American soldiers that are confronting Indy

Ok finally fixed my damn Quicktime thanks to one gentleman's suggestions, and wow that ruled the planet. So where's the bad CG?

The scene in question, I believe, was when Cate and Harry are driving in those jeeps on the edge of the cliff.

It looked a little fake to me, so I guess that is what people are probably talking about.

In a year that has The dark night coming out all I can think about is Dr Jones and his big ass whip....Soooooooooooooooooooooo awesome

Haven't been this excited for a movie since the episode 1 trailer lets hope it turns out a hell of a lot better than that though.

Someone needs to update the OP with Goreomedy's links.

It reminded me of 80's action, I LOVE that effect. Could be intentional. And if not? Well, at least it'll give it that retro-edge. Those shots are the ones that really gave me a nostalgic kick.

That teaser got me hopeful for the movie. The clips from the storage facility were great.

The man in the hat is back!

Good luck getting ANY editor to cut a film like they did 20 years ago. Styles have changed, film cutting just HAS TO BE dynamic and quick to attract any sort of crowd nowadays. Just the facts. Indy might be an old character, but this movie wasn't made with just the nostalgic original fans in mind.

what?

Remember, though, that the old ones barely had any scenes in the United States.

good point, third one being the most consistent probably. But still, it's the cheesy panning-flag's point of view that could annoy some. Out of place for an Indiana Jones movie if you get what I mean. Not terribly annoying, but Indy doesn't need such stuff in my opinion-not that it's going to ruin the movie-

Good point.

Cinematography and editing are two different crafts, though.

Your post does bring up another point, being that most of what we see in this teaser are action shots. Action filmmaking has come a long way in the 20+ years since Raiders, so maybe the slower moments are more true to the originals.

This would hold up if when viewing any of the old indy movies people found them any less perfect and I just watched Raiders about a month ago and still quivered in its awesomeness. I agree styles have changed but I disagree that has any bearing on Jones.

Not bad, although the best part was the montage. I refuse to get my hopes up but my heart still started pumping once Indy picked up the hat

The CGI was overbearing even in those quick clips

Admit it, it will be better than temple of doom at least. If only based on those clips.

i hate the fucking internet

yesterday: HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE A DISGRACE. JUST TERRIBLE I'M NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO SIT THRU ONE SCENE YES IT'LL BE THAT BAD

today: OMG SPEILBERG IS THE MAN OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING THATS EVER HAPPENED TO ME AND I'VE ONLY SEEN A 30 SEC TRAILER. FAP FAP OMG

I would also like to point out that this is an edited trailer, not an edited sequence from the film. Some shots looked "newer school" and some shots looked old school. And from what I remember, the truck chase in Raiders had some quick cutting here and there, combined with a lot of wide shots. And I spotted some wide shots during the action in this trailer as well.

The CGI was overbearing even in those quick clips

You have fucking got to be kidding me. PD :lol

there's hardly any cg in the teaser--everything looked real with the exception of the explosion whiping those bodies away.

first scene in the trailer where they surround indy and when he fights them in the warehouse. It says "US Army" on their shirt and trucks.

Fantastic trailer though :D, and i just had a Indy marathon a few days ago w/ my gf. Cant wait!

I have to admit I wasnt too terribly impressed with the trailer. I wasnt feeling Fords line delivery at all and the timing of the comedic moments seemed off. I'll give it a chance but I'm going in very hesitant this time.

no, I was referring to the flag waving scene. US military outfits have US logos

Yay HD!

The jeep chase just looks plain weird. I still don't like the Kasinski look for an Indy film, but the trailer does make the movie seem like a fun ride,
Xenu
and all.

What about the chase scene on the edge of the mountain, which gave me King Kong flashbacks, as well as one of the temple scenes and the scene with the rocket launcher.

Michael Khan has edited every single Spielberg movie except one, and he's editing this one.

I thought King Kong as well. Something about the motion blue effect that ILM is using just seems "off."

oh, right. but none of it was really ''overbearing''--as you put it--imo.

And so the hate brigade is up and on the prowl, just as someone predicted. :lol

fuck the temple of doom haters....it's better than crusade.

If both Spielberg and Lucas hate Temple of Doom, you know it's bad. Spielberg says it's the only one of his films he can't watch and that's bad considering 1941.

Lordy this looks so fantastic I laughed out loud at his line when he landed in the trucks. Ford was bred for the single purpose of playing Jones.

Fuck the age haters too. I really want to see a 80 year old Indy kicking ass in the 70's. Like the Russians are hiding some artifact in a Disco and Indy has to go in and kick some ass.

Looks good, but Christ almighty he is old. I know that's a broken record comment, but I was still taken aback by it.

It's been 18 years since Last Crusade, and the movie is set in 1957 which is 18 years after Last Crusade.
