I fully understand that it's been addressed in the story; it's just a reaction that I had when watching it.
 
If you frame by frame it you can see
Abner Ravenwood
in two of the temple shots. There's Indy, Marion, Mutt, Mac, and
Abner
is the guy with long hair.

As I said in another thread. No one complained about John Wayne kicking ass in his late 60's, Harrison can do it too! :D

Personally, I felt that was the worst of the names that they floated out there.

Because I'm not fond of "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" at all :/

It has grown on me, but I just hoped for one of the other titles.

I can agree on it being the least specific name of all, but at the same time I think it fits the Indiana Jones-movies so good, with all the traveling and adventuring.

Shia Labeouf looks a bit too young to play Nathan IMO
And how come Sully appears to be the main character in this trailer? I don't remember him kicking that much ass in the game.

Oddly cut-together teaser, but the man with the whip gives me hope.

As do the "insensitive" images of savages. Take that, Mel!
 
Seeing all the references, and as good as Uncharted the game is, there's just no comparison between Drake and Indy. Drake's a little "too" effective in how he does everything, making things look easier than they should. A little too "secret agent man" I guess, whereas Indy's character always has to struggle/fight for everything and he always genuinely looks like he has to make an extra effort to get out of everything. It makes his character feel more grounded to me.

The trailers for the original movies were quite similar with the editing making the jokes seem weird in the trailer, while working quite fine within the movies.
 
Looks like it stayed true to the series. Harrison Ford looks and sounds like he did in the old flicks, just a little older.

Yeah this is true and a good point.

The timing is definitely off.
 
The "Damn I thought that was closer" line was hilarious, it was short and to the point, most writers these days would have written something much worse. These movies have never been meant to take seriously, if you can't have fun with these movies and characters which are obviously just here to entertain us with awesome action and vistas, and otherworldly artifacts, then maybe you should look forward to something else. And despite the amount of humor in this teaser, it still didn't seem as cheeky as Last Crusade did to me.

That completely seemed like something Indy would say to me.

Mifune, there are plenty of lines like that in the other movies. If I could be arsed I'd rip a montage from the DVDs... but I really can't be arsed.

Point is, Indi has always had witty comedy just like that one liner and that scene. Thats what makes it so damn good and if you saw the other ones you would know. It has death but it has never been very serious.
 
how does that not look like an indy movie? even if you'd take out the theme, it'd still look and feel like an indy movie, based on that footage. shrug.

it looks... well I don't want to pass judgment. Judging by what Lucas did to the Star Wars property, I don't want to be too optimistic - it's likely those hopes will be crushed - but maybe it'll be OK. Plus Indiana Jones is far better than Star Wars ever was, so there's that too.

I rally want next Indy game to be LA's return to former glory. Fate of the Atlantis was such great adventure. I even remember for a while, the rumor was this movie was supposed to be about Atlantis. It's probably for the best that it isn't though.

Lucas didn't write the script and isn't directing... it'll be fine.

Everyone says it's a great script.
