i'm guessing if theres a safari plugin it doesnt work on snowleopard
Yes, maybe I should restart and try again.Jasoco said:Did you download the new version?

In Disk Utility, select the partition and click Options and change it to GUID partition scheme.
It's a known flaw but an easy fix after you rip all your hair out.
Make sure you're opening the file with Quicktime 7 rather than Flip4Mac Player, which goes out looking where QT7 used to be instead of its new place.Y2Kev said:Is there a conflict with flip4mac and the new quicktime? It tells me QuickTime Player must be installed unless I open the movie manually through Quicktime.
I thought that Quicktime X replaced 7? I did a spotlight search and both 7 and X come up...that is kind of weird...Hitokage said:Make sure you're opening the file with Quicktime 7 rather than Flip4Mac Player, which goes out looking where QT7 used to be instead of its new place.
You have both because Quicktime X has no preferences or Pro techniques other than trimming and exporting.Y2Kev said:I thought that Quicktime X replaced 7? I did a spotlight search and both 7 and X come up...that is kind of weird...
Scrolling with a mouse, but without the scrollwheel? You're kidding, right?panda21 said:is there any way of scrolling using the mouse without using the wheel? mine is being a dick. specifically in safari but the finder would be nice as well

Gotcha. That's interesting. Okay, I can deal with it then until they sort it out.Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:You have both because Quicktime X has no preferences or Pro techniques other than trimming and exporting.
They did something similar with iMovie '08 where they kept iMovie '06 around just because they were very different and it wouldn't be a smooth transition for people that relied on certain options in the older application.

There were no scrollwheels on early mice, yet we could all still scroll ...
panda21 said:i mean without having to move to the scroll bar, i dont like scroll bars! i'm pretty sure in firefox you can middle click and then just move the mouse.
also its a logitech trackball not a mighty mouse, i tried cleaning it but i cant get it working.
Or... Up/Down, PgUp/PgDn, and Home/End...Sean said:Although it's a keyboard solution and not a mouse, you can hold down space bar to scroll through webpages (in Safari at least).

Seriously I don't understand what is up. I went from 1mb downloads to 4.8kb downloads. It's very strange.The_Inquisitor said:Don't say that! >.<

Now I know the iPhone has an f/2.8 aperture :loll
BUt yeah, it looks like you can specify what happens when you plug in each device much more easily.
yup, I talked about it a few pages back but I really like the new image capture especially for scanning. it does wireless scanning now and can identify multiple photos on the glass automatically, saving me steps when digitizing old photos. (no more cropping and "save as" multiple times)

not here. my collection of linux distros are downloading at the same speed as before
The iLeopard guy says he will have it out as soon as the tools he needs are updated for Snow Leopard.mattiewheels said:Speaking of scrollbars...anyone think they'll come out with a new extras.rsrc file to fix those anytime soon?

Timan said:You don't have to install that or qt7 when u first setup snow leopard.
If an app requires rosetta it will launch software update to download it, same goes with QT7 if you try to view a mov that requires it.

RubxQub said:Too late if it's already installing.
Before you start the install there was a "Customize" button off to the left side of the window.
Ashhong said:well son of a bitch. i didnt see that...i booted into the install by holding option at the start screen and booting from my HDD
if i quit the installer will i be able to get to that option?
I'm pretty sure the default options were different between my MacMini and my two Macbooks, don't remember exactly what each were, but I guess it depends on what hardware it detects to decide what defaults it uses?mrkgoo said:I think Rosetta is OFF by default. And The default printer driver setting is to install all visible printer drivers.
Then again, I could be mistaken.
Just insert the disc after you boot up the computer into Snow Leopard and then go to to the Optional Installs folder on the disc and click the Optional Installs package.Ashhong said:Ah ok. The printer drivers were my main thing.
RubxQub said:The WiFi icon at the topbar is a nice little addition. Saw it mentioned before, but it now animates to show that it's attempting to connect, shows an exclamation mark when it's established connection and then goes to the normal signal strength indicator when it's all finalized.
So obvious it's crazy to think that wasn't there all along.
Ashhong said:just installed SL and theres this "Choose Application" thing open for me and it says "Where is System Events.app?" with a list of applications. whats going on?
edit: i found it in the Systems folder, but whats that all about? and i thought i remember people saying their iStats menu works fine..but mine doesnt? will have to search the thread for that one

iStats menu doesn't work. All other iStats should be good to go.
