I'm having some major problems with my mac and I was wondering if anyone could help. I had my MBP taken in last weekend (15" last gen, 2499 model purchased in Nov 2007) because the motherboard went bad. When I got it back from the shop, it started locking up constantly. I thought it was because I had a bad motherboard, but the mac "genius" said because I was getting error reports it couldn't be the hardware; that it was probably corrupted OS files due to my NEEDING to hold down the power button to turn the system off. I really don't believe that, especially after the latest developments.
He told me to do an archive and install, and if that didn't work, do a format and install. I did both of those things, and I restored my backup from Time Machine. I then upgraded to Snow Leopard. My computer just literally as I was typing this message got into a constant stream of "l" and wouldn't let me see my external HD. It then locked up. Can Time Machine store fucked up system software that would cause lockups like that? Or is it a faulty motherboard, like I think it is? Because this is bullshit, and I'm getting tired of this. I've had to bring my computer in for a new superdrive, a new monitor, and the motherboard. Now I don't even have a working motherboard, so I assume. I'm really pissed.
EDIT: FUCKING ITUNES IS TAKING 8 YEARS TO OPEN AND CLAMXAV WON'T OPEN AT ALL TO SCAN MY SHIT WTF THIS IS RIDICULOUS
