Back to the RPG talk from a couple of pages ago. I picked up Mass Effect in the buy/sell/trade thread. I'm about 5 hours in, and I'm loving it so far. It's even better because my wife likes it too. The only other console game she's played through is Fable 2. Hopefully, she'll get through this one too.

Also, sorry to see you go, Bluemax. I knew it was only a matter of time because you're frustration with the game was pretty obvious. Hopefully, you'll be back for Madden 11.

As for NCAA, I'd be up for college league/dynasty if I'm able to pick up the game this year (doubtful right now). I'll definitely get Madden, but I don't know if I'll be able to buy both.

Daw and I beat it right before ME2 came out. I thought it was pretty good, the ending sequences brought my opinion of it up, the middle draaaaaaaaaagged.

im about 15 or so hours into mass effect 1 and i just can't bring myself to keep playing. the game isn't awful but i'm just really bored with it.

"but you're playing on casual you pussy!" yeah i know that. but having a more difficult time isn't going to make the game more interesting to me. ill get back to it.... someday.

now if you want to talk about an interesting game then you should check out deadly premonition. one of the funniest, craziest games of all times.... and only $19.99! right zach?

I have a job where I'll be working about 13 hours a day Mon and Tues. We'll see. I don't get the luxury of having full days off anymore. I won't be home till later at night anyway, I'll let you know how I feel.

Was looking at the MLB: The Show thread when I noticed our Madden thread's posts/views #s. Quite impressive. The World of WarCraft thread, open since November 2004, has 41,161 posts and 613,966 views. In 8 months, MaddenGAF has amassed 28,008 posts and 260,273 views. :O

What is the cpu rule now? Haven't played the CPU yet this season (played the LiveWire Rams in Week 2) but I play Rams next week. NFCW is just me and FMT now I guess.

You can't have either if you're serious. The rule isn't "out the window." LJ chose to have a real opponent because he finds cpu play boring.

The majority of Bob's 30,000+ career came when the PS3 and 360 were announced and he was the HNIC (Head N**** In Charge) of the Sony Brigade.

Agreed on this for me, as well. I almost want to say I got up there around 10,000 on one of the older boards.

Anyone else remember 0 pa 0 pa getting the dreaded 5th (or 6th) star once he became the 1st person to hit 10,000 posts? Now look at GAF, just this small sample of people, some already breaking 30,000. I know someone's already past 50,000...

Lone: This version of GAF:

A) Has been around much longer than any other.

B) Moves much faster than it did years ago in terms of discussions by sheer volume of members.

There's also a lot more concentrated discussion. Say you're a football fan, that watches lost, is into fitness, and also plays in our league - that's a lot of posting in those official "GAFs" aside from the misc stuff that comes up.

Being able to browse GAF during the day has really boosted my post count. :(

I was hovering at 5 posts per day on the old boards and 8 NeoGAF. Now it's 14.29. :'(

[edit] I was the 90th person on NeoGAF. :p 2 behind Lonestar!

All I can say is thank God for the Spitzer thing reducing demand a little. $$ is $$ but things were just getting too crazy there for a while.
