what the hell.... Ottawa won yesterday. Sabres only got 13 damn shots.

If this was a playoff year I'd be extatic, as the only time Ottawa played well going into the playoffs was when they made it to the finals.

Vermette- deadline trade of the year? He's made an IMMEDIATE difference, and it's translating directly to much needed points. 4 goals in 5 games, and some of them have been fucking crucial.

My avatar needs more Canadian heroics.

Good shit. Vermette was a great player in Ottawa but I think CBJ is a perfect fit now that he has more freedom. I like the trade for Ottawa now too.

Chris Kunitz says Hi...

Although Vermette has fit in really well in Columbus as well, and so has Jokinen in Calgary

"In 11 games with Pittsburgh, Kunitz has netted six goals and seven assists for 13 points. What’s more, the Penguins are 9-0-2 since his arrival."

Mmmm, so good. Nice to hear that Vermette's fitting in. Columbus is a concern.

LA picks up two, Tampa's tied, Ottawa's leading, Anaheim plays Phoenix, Leafs putting up a terrible game.

We can DO THIS!

Mike Green has 2 goals tonight to give him 27. I hope he gets to 30.

I think he will, and that will be amazing. He really should win the norris for the season he has had... I can't even hardly remember a d-man putting up over 25 for the longest time

Hmmm. I'm not so sure he deserves the Norris but a nomination for sure though.

I don't watch enough of the Caps to know about his defensive game, but who would you give it to instead of Green?

Gonchar. Seriously, dude would have had a serious shot at it if he was healthy this season. :(

Ah well. As long as the Pens are winning.

THANK YOU, SENS! HABS ARE ABOUT TO EAT IT!

Go Sens go! With their loss and Florida's win tonight, the Habs are one step closer to losing a playoff spot :D

He has the most giveaways of all defenseman, and the 2nd most of all players in the league. Regardless of how many goals he scores he's not Norris material imo.
Although I wouldn't be at all surprised if he got a nomination, considering all the hype surrounding him and his goal-streak.

Lidstrom and Chara are both much more worthy of it.

Bingo. It's supposed to be awarded to the best all-around defenseman in the league, not the guy with the most points (and if it were, we certainly don't hear Markov's name tossed around). I think Green's a great player to have working the point, but yeah, he definitely needs some work on his defensive zone play before I'd consider him for a Norris.

Random thought: While he's not up there yet, I think Duncan Keith's been having a great year.

Oilers up 8-1 against the mighty Avs (they have Joe Sakic y'know).
Sam Gagner with his first career hat trick. I'm sure he'll have a few dozen more in the next couple seasons. Patrick Kane who?

And Kot-a-lick-my-Balls with 4 points too. Detroit, we gonna knock you out in the 1st round again. We're coming for you.

Meh. Would ofs, Could ofs. Same argument you Pens fans give when saying Super Mario was better than Gretz ;)

But seriously. I think Green could win the Norris. His overall defensive game isn't the best, but his offensive game is so far ahead of everyone else... doesn't that make up for it?

The way Gagner's been playing overall ... I'd probably rather have Kane. :\

:lol Excellent.

Ok I don't usually give a shit about Ovechkin celebrating after a goal. But tonight was NFL before No Fun League shit. Dropping your stick on the ice and pretending like it is hot... really.
