What's the matter with Ray Allen? Only played 9 minutes so far and isn't in foul trouble(Late 3rd quater)... Was he injured or what?

Allegedly mild ankle sprain but he's probably resting cos the Lakers suck so bad. He was not hurt on any play btw...

The human highlight's nephew (my 2nd favorite player in NBA history) and Bill Walton's son! how freaking awesome is that?!?!

Too bad they're not even worthy of cleaning their relatives shoes.

Both are ok.. it takes guts to follow in your father's footsteps when they are hall of famers (well Uncle in Wilkins case but if he can be as good as his father he won't have a bad stint in the NBA)

And new PRs:

1 (2) Heat 52-16
First team to win 50 games this season. First team to clinch a playoff berth this season. First team to post two 10-game win streaks this season. In short, no one's hotter.

2 (5) Pistons 42-23
Prince looks more like a Most Improved Player favorite every day ... and Gar Heard's fortunes as interim coach (3-0 in this fill-in stint compared to 2-4 last time) are improving, too.

3 (1) Suns 49-16
Nash says his hamstring is feeling a little better. Better yet, after a nice win at Memphis, Suns are quietly 8-3 since the All-Star break, beating Spurs, Pistons, Sonics, Mavs and Nuggets.

4 (3) Spurs 50-16
For the seventh straight full season, Spurs have won 50 games. But this group is only 1-3 without Duncan, so expect a longer rest after this ankle twist to ensure TD's playoff health.

5 (4) SuperSonics 45-20
Trust us: Coach McMillan is far more concerned about the injury loss of Radmanovic than reports of the season's first locker-room grumbling about minutes, roles, shots, etc.

6 (8) Celtics 38-29
Ricky Ricky is making a serious Sixth Man push. And Celts can't stop winning, even though they guard almost no one.

7 (7) Mavericks 43-22
Now that the baton has been passed, let's be real. Until Dampier and Stackhouse return, it probably doesn't matter who's coaching. Mavs won't be a factor without those two healthy.

8 (6) Rockets 39-27
Rockets haven't been this far over .500 since 1996-97. But they really don't feel like celebrating after losing Juwan for a while.

9 (9) Grizzlies 38-28
Gasol and Bonzi are back, but it's clear that Grizz have an underrated bench and a coach who deserves COY consideration whether or not he has been there all season.

10 (10) Nuggets 35-30
Interesting stat: Nuggets now have more wins with Furious George in charge (18) than they had in the first 42 games (17).

11 (12) Wizards 36-28
With six of seven on the road and Jamison ailing, Wiz face the threat of joining Cleveland, Chicago and Orlando on the slide.

12 (11) Kings 41-28
At 7-7 since the Webber deal, and with Miller out now, you have to start wondering if Kings will slip all the way down to No. 7 and a first-round series against Spurs or Suns.

13 (18) Pacers 33-32
Carlisle won't win 50 games for the first time in four seasons, but he has to be a Coach of the Year factor if Pacers make the playoffs after all they've been through.

14 (19) Timberwolves 34-34
Under Saunders, Wolves were a game under .500. Under McHale, they're 9-8 and (uh-oh) four behind Denver in the loss column.

15 (21) Nets 31-36
Just when it appeared you could exclude Jersey from playoff consideration, this is the only Eastern Conference resident outside the top three on any kind of roll.

16 (13) Bulls 33-31
After going 7-4 in February, Bulls are 4-7 in March and still have seven more roadies to play this month. And it hasn't helped matters that they're 0-4 against New Jersey.

What a bad move! Cav fans should be pissed! Slumping yes... but still in the playoffs as of today... Silas got shafted! They let Boozer go not him... what a sham!

those Power Rankings are terrible, GOD I hate Stein. NETS, Pacers and TWolves all above the Bulls now? Celtics are 6?? Wow....I dunno about that. And Pistons are 2 again? WHY?

Nice to see the Celtics getting some respect. But yes, they do need to improve the DEFENSE quickly if they want to make it deep into the playoffs

Start of the third..

Dwight Howard: 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-6 FT), 8 rebounds, 0 blocks
Emeka Okafor: 7 points (3-12 FG, 1-6 FT), 9 rebounds, 3 blocks

That's been some embarrasing shit from the Spurs tonight.

The Spurs organization are thinking about leaving Tim out until the start of the playoffs, no matter how fast he heals, so let's hope, if this happens, that the rest of the guys will actually show up to play and not mail in games against shit like the Knicks even when they're up.

Under the Pistons hoop, landed on Sheed's foot and cranked it pretty hard sideways. Grade 2 Strain they said.. Out for a good 4 games at least.

That's a shame. If the Pistons don't Repeat, I'd want the Spurs to win the title.

That's that happens when the Kobex Curse + Bowen Effect mixes...

NEVER MIX THA VOODOOO!!!!!!

Spurs = Most boring great team in the NBA today

I want to see Minnesota squeeze into the 8th spot and beat Spurs in the first round. As good as the Spurs are I prefer fast paced basketball like the Suns and Kings play.

I also hope Peja steps his game up come playoff time cause Kings are gonna need him.

I disagree that the spurs are boring now... when you see Manu and Tony Parker running down and doing some sick shots, they are fun to watch. They can and do play a fast offense, just not as fast as the Suns do. But they also play better D than the Suns and that definitely slows down their games more.

That assumes the Spurs are still in 1st place. The Mavs are thinking otherwise... :D

Geez. I step out to smoke, and the Pistons collapse. :lol Musta been a hell of a rally by Cleveland. When I left, Vanejo, or whatever his name is had just sunk a 3 and a jumper. WTH else happened after that? The lead was still 8 points at that point. PEACE.

EDIT: Damn, this Heat-Rockets game could be good if Yao's conditioning has improved enough to keep him in the game. And T-Mac just finally scored. Good, now I'm satisfied. It's gonna be a great game. PEACE.

Man, Pistons sucked tonight. How do you lose to a team that is 3-9 in their last 12 AND just fired 2 coaches the previous day.

When your backcourt amounts to only 10 combined points, you have problems. Delfino was definitely not ready to start in the place of Rip.

Wow! Butler's face got mugged and no flagrant! BULLSHIT! Lakers beat themselves shooting 16-25 from the free throw line though. GAME OVER!

Brsides horrible defense (115 pts to Utah?) and fts, Chucky's selfishness cost the Lakers this game. Twice on 2 on 1 breaks with Kobe when the Lakers had the lead in the 4th, he refused to pass for demoralizing dunks and the Jazz put him on the line slowing LA's momentum :(

Lakers need to get a dominant PF over the off season. If Wolves don't make the playoffs this year Lakers should try there best to go after Garnett. Also Chris Bosh seems like a great upcoming player.

Who are some major free agents at the end of the season?

This is one of the worstly officiated games I've seen in a while. No tech on wade, and they call a foul on Mutumbo and give him a Tech? Bullshit. They're trying to give this one to the Heat. These refs are a fucking joke.

Jeez-- 9 three-pointers by Kobe? Crazy...great game. 15 three point attempts, though? :p It's feast or famine with him-- he made an incredible % of them tonight, though, so it's all good. He's taken waaaaay too many threes the past several games, though imo.

Someone ban me or Konex ASAP.

It is for Konex's own safety...

Im pretty sure that the team scoring only 1 basket in the last 7 minutes of the game that did it. I saw nothing wrong with what Chucky did tonight.

As a PG, you gotta give it up on the fast break...especially when the guy running next to you is in a good scoring rhythm. Why is the PG a black hole? >_<

Whats so funny? There were rumors about a month ago about Minnesota wanting to trade Garnett and start all over.

He took 11 shots in total and made 5, he was 7 of 8 from the line and 3 turnovers. Where exactly is the problem?

Did you watch the game or are you just checking the statsheet? There were just too many plays where he ignored guys and jacked it up or turned it over. He doesn't even try to play like a PG and it's killing the team's transition opportunities...

Looks like Miami is going to lose. As good as they are, they are not as good as the teams in the West. Those teams have been bred to defeat the Three Peat Lakers.
